We went for dinner with a group of friends. The service was quite good and it was relatively empty. We ordered our usual favorites. The food took some time to arrive but when it did, it was really tasty! I feel like the presentation on this particular evening was lacking but generally it's quite good. We love the edamame and the colonel boa. The dark chocolate matcha tart and yuzu tart were also incredible and a real stand out. The balance of flavors was on point!
I had a lovely dinner here with work colleagues :)
We shared the twice-cooked ribs, beef pot-stickers, and vegetable spring rolls for starters. The ribs were DIVINE! A definite must-have!
For mains, I had the Chairman Bao, which contains pulled lamb, and other delicious toppings. It was simply fantastic. I could eat that ever time I go to Momo Soko and never get bored! To drink I had the Turkish Delight Lemonade, which was so creative and tasty.
The service was also fast and friendly, which always goes down well with me :)
Really enjoyed the type of cuisine. Try order multiple things to share so you get to try everything. The portions aren't big at all so you better of sharing things.
Great vibe just very hard to find! We had to ask like 4 people for directions.
They should put directive signs, suggestion.
My favourite in the Momo franchise. Food is delicious and service friendly. I love the complimentary prawn chips.
Prices are very reasonable. My favourites are the prawn bao, firecracker chicken, Korean fried chicken wings & salmon tacos. This is enough food for two people. The Szechuan bowl is also great. The skewers are okay - I much prefer the other options on the menu. They aren’t licensed but you can bring booze and there is zero corkage.
I must try in Jhb!
The food at Momo Soko is delicious! I usually get their Greenway Bao and I haven't been let down yet!
The service is sometimes quite slow but the waiters are all friendly and filled with suggestions if you need one. So if you're planning on ordering, rather order all in one go once you have the waiter's attention. Other than that, the food and vibe are both enjoyable.
I think the business of the restaurant speaks for itself.. Food is super tasty and flavoursome, and very well priced. Only regret was not trying more things on the menu! Think all the Momos across town have created a good name for themselves, and this lives up to the name! Only criticism would be due to lack of staff - particularly waiters. Had to wait a long time to get their attention, and to bring the bill and then to pay. But other than that definitely recommend! Bookings are essential during busy times
Great food and great service.
I enjoyed every single dish that I ordered. I can’t remember them all and I can’t find the menu but I recall having perfect bao, spicy chicken wings that were to die for and tempura style prawns.
I will definitely be visiting again to try more dishes.
We really felt like Chinese food with a good atmosphere. And Momo Soko was really that, we had the bowls and it was value for money and really tasty. The atmosphere was lively and comfortable at the same time. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back again.
I gave it a 4 as the service just needs to be improved a lil. The foot was exceptional. The baohaus bao was the best bao I've ever eaten! The crispy beef smoky noodles was incredibly tasty and the veggies were prepared so well. If you do t have a super sweet tooth I have to recommend the dark chocolate tart and pistachio gelato for dessert!
The food and the service was great. Everything is succulent and well-flavoured. Prices are really affordable! Can’t wait to try the rest of the menI.
