Light, fresh and healthy meals on offer from breakfast right through until the end of the day! Service was quick and the venue is stunning, especially next to the outdoor fountain! The pesto Hollandaise is a game changer!
Service is very good, food is excellent! Clean eating area, however a bit noisy inside, so I always sit outside. A definite must again on anyone's list! 🙂

I did not expect much from a restaurant next to a PicknPay, but I was pleasantly surprised. A varied menu and reasonable prices. I wanted a small meal as I had missed breakfast, and a good coffee. Eventually the quiche I ordered was delicious and so filling that I struggled to finish it. The coffee was wonderful and almost worth it by itself. My partner had the Mexican breakfast, wnich was also so much that he battled to finish it. This consisted of spicy mince, with a very slight bite, guacamole, cream cheese, scrambled egg, tortilla, etc. I cannot eat anything too hot, so I was afraid to try it myself, but next time I definitely will. While we were there, several other diners also ordered the Mexican breakfast, so it seems to be a hit. The waiter was exceptionally attentive. He brougt us water with lemon slices, without us asking, while we waited for our food. When I said that their forks were too big for me to manage (I have small hands), he brought me two smaller sizes to choose from, neatly wrapped in s serviette and on a plate. The salt, pepper and condiment containers were clean. This is usually my first way to judge a restaurant. I am a slow eater and I usually cannot stand it when waiters rush to clear the table while I am still eating, as if they cannot wait to get rid of me. However, this waiter ASKED us if it was ok if he waited for me to finish before clearing the table. I felt like giving him a gold star, on top of his tip!
I loved the idea of having a slice of cake and sipping on something to drink post grocery shopping. Thyme on Nicole offers a lovely variety of meals to try from. I only had time to try something small so I opted for dessert! I ordered the dark chocolate slice which was Banting so it was totally guilt free! I loved the tones of orange essence in the cake. I was slightly disappointed with the service as the waitressing was not constant. We had 4 different waiters so my order was wrong the first time around. Also 2 or 3 things I wanted to order from their menu like the Toni teas were fully out of stock. However the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere to it.
Thyme is just a great spot to grab a sneaky lunch and glass of wine. The prices are super and their sushi is yummy. Wine is also exceptionally well priced here, I don’t think you’ll find the same value for money anywhere else is joburg. The big boy platter is perfect to fill the tummy and if you sit at the far end of the restaurant you can get lost in the quiet tranquilly of the spruit below.
Very popular and busy restaurant. Lots of the time there is a wait.
Food is made fresh and very yum. I am a fan of their sushi which I find is well priced compared to other places. So when I shop at Pick n Pay and in a rush I always ore order my sushi. Interesting choice of tea.

Really enjoyed my time here. The menu is very interesting and diverse. The food met all of our expectations and there were no complaints to be had. The Mexican Pork Belly Fiesta was out of this world. The smoothies and crushes were also great.
The restaurant is in a nice open setting so it doesn't feel crowded. No complaints could be had with the service either. Will definitely be returning again.
Good service, great setting, good food, but.... your french toast with bacon, roast tomatoes and grueye cheese... i was dissapointed when it arrived and it had a finely grated sprinkling of grueye cheese. Its meant to be part of the dish, not a garnish. There was so little, i couldnt taste it at all..
Thyme is wonderful restaurant with fresh, delicious treats. I’m not a sandwich person but their Mexican BLT was divine with such great flavours! Can’t wait to have it again. I also enjoyed a mixed berry crush. Thyme on Nicol has great service, tasty and affordable food. Great spot for a lunch date!
Thyme is definitely our go-to-breakfast place with friends on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
