I had the Walnut Grove make a Red Velvet cake for a Birthday celebration. With only 24 hours notice they were able to provide a custom cake that both looked and tasted outstanding. Everyone at the celebration commented how moist and delicious the cake was. Thank you for being so accommodating.

Food is expensive but a very large portion and very tasty. The burger was drenched in cheese and abit oily but chicken strips was delicious. The waitress was extremely pleasant and checked on us frequently. The restaurant and its bathrooms are very clean and have an upmarket feel.

Walnut Grove has always been beautiful, a lovely place for date night. The cakes are are show pieces that keep one wowed with their height and flavor combinations. My husband and I started our date with burgers. Huge burgers at that. The beef pattie was tender, well cooked, the bacon and onion rings were a perfect accompaniment to the pattie. As for my slice of carrot cake with cheesecake, it was absolutely delicious. The cake was moist, with a perfect ratio icing to cake.

We went in for supper on a Friday night. The restaurant was not to busy and we were seated fairly quickly. I chose to have a light meal and went with the chicken strips with almond crust which came with cheese fondue. The chicken was very tender and flavourful which was good. The food was prepared a bit on the slower side and the wait was a bit long. For dessert I tried the black velvet oreo cake. This was really good and the slice was very generous. One would struggle to finish it after a full meal. I would definitely return to try other options on the menu.

Good meals at decent prices. We really enjoyed the options, there’s a fair amount of veg but I feel like there could be more variety for vegetarians. Had to be the most delicious cakes though … will be back for more

We went during weekday lunch time, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The food was unexpectedly great, had a nachos and salad, and the decor and interior design of the restaurant is tranquil and lovely.

The food is juicy and delicious, the cakes are worth every cent, the service from the staff is great, however the setting of tables is a bit weirdly cramped.

Our waiter was kind and friendly. This is a great restaurant with yummy food.

Having been here before I knew what to expect, a pleasant experience, which was had. Came on a weekend and the mall was packed but was lucky to find a table for lunch. The entire deco is spot on, love the over hanging lights. The food was exceptional. I must admit, prices where a bit on the higher side but I guess you're paying for great service and food. I'll give them an overall rating of 9/10.

Been a while since I came here and it’s lovely how it feels apart and contained from the mall yet right in the hub of the grove. I love how the waiter remembers the order without having to write the stuff down . I love the Tumeric Golden Latte hot drink had some sushi yet the vegan burger was average, my friends kingclip was excellent , the sashimi slices we beautifully presented. Cozy spot to have an anytime meal.

One of Sandton City’s popular restaurants, it was pleasant going back after a long time. Gets super busy during brunch so seating can be a challenge.

A great place for family and friends to enjoy a cozy, delicious meal together. Fitted with a variety of seating options. Bookings may be suggested during busier times. Above the other restaurants, with low ceilings a meal had here provides a homely atmosphere.

The service was quick. Staff was very friendly. The cakes I bought were moist and delicious with extremely generous portions that I failed to finish a portion in one sitting. Sadly I had a trolley so had to have takeaway since there was no way to go upstairs with it. I'd recommend visiting Walnut Grove and I will definitely be going back when next in South Africa

My worst dinning experience ever. When we first arrived, we found a cockroach in the menu. Absolutely disgusting. we still opted to stay regardless, then when we were paying for our meal, a rat ran across the floor. A whole entire rat. The staff looked at is as if we were crazey, even though they also saw it. This place is a health hazard. They weren't even ashamed.

Walnut grove food does not deliver. Nothing on the eggs Benedict plate is home made. Not the hollandaise, not the creamed spinach and certainly not the potato cake thing... Maybe hire a chef to match your fancy decor and focus on the food...

Usually we visit Walnut Grove for their decadent selection of cakes. Today I sampled their trio of slider burgers and was delighted. Succulent and juicy. Prompt service with little mini red velvet cakes served with our coffee brings a smile to our hearts. Walnut Grove in Sandton City on the Mezzanine Level our Oasis from the hectic crowds.

Worst dining experience of my life. Cold, tasteless, oil-covered food. You would think that a meal costing R200 would be better than something easily thrown together at home (home food probably tastes better). If you're looking for a lovely, delicious little restaurant... Please spend your money anywhere else. However, on a more positive note, the waitress (Annah) was wonderful.

I've been here twice now and I've sat down and waited for 30 minutes for service after calling a waiter multiple times. On the second time I walked out and I will never be coming back to this establishment ever again and I will be warning my friends against it too.

I eat here all the time..but after my experience with my waiter .who brings my tea then forgets the cup...wait 5 minutes for a cup and then he forgets milk and says I did not order milk..

Today I was disappointed with my walnut grove dining experience. I had mince on toast with a friend egg. My toast was soggy as the waiter took long to get the food to us. I am so mad that I did not say anything. The service was horrendous. I don’t think I will go back for a while.

Walnut Grove certainly has left the exact opposite of a bad taste in my mouth! The food was incredible and so was the service. The quality and styling of the food was designed to feel comforting and simplistic yet also have a certain variety of ingredients and complexity of flavours. Due to the reasons above this restaurant deserves five gleaming gold stars, no questions asked. Walnut Grove has an open feel with plenty of space for seating and it certainly was packed when we visited! With no negatives or criticism, I would visit this place again in a heartbeat and hope that you do too!

The restaurant is located near the food court so it can be a bit loud unless you sit further in the restaurant. The decor is quite cool with an enormous tree chandelier at the entrance. The rest of the restaurant has wooden arching details. We have been to the restaurant 3 times now, primarily for the cake! The waiters are always friendly but the service is generally quite slow. The food is tasty (although very averagely presented). The standout is definitely the cakes. Although really pricy at R69 per slice, they are moist and decadent!

What started off as a relaxed breakfast, ended in a heated confrontation with the the manager Andrew. The food arrived cold and when hot food was requested Andrews aggressive and irritated response towards my wife was so shocking that I told him that he needn’t worry about replacing the meal as I would rather go somewhere else. This resulted in Andrew becoming increasingly aggressive to the point where he was shouting so loud that passing shoppers were stopping to stare!! Well done Andrew, I’m sure those who saw you in action will definitely find somewhere else to dine!! To the owners: View your camera footage and you’ll witness first hand Andrews highly aggressive facial and body language towards us as patrons!!

Got some afternoon tea with my friends and we all loved the ambience and how quiet and chilled the place was. They have quite a few vegetarian friendly options and their cakes taste just as good as it looks and is super moist, sadly none of the cakes are vegan friendly. They have a few very common vegan dishes available but I would appreciate if they had more options.

Great food and service for a break from shopping at Sandton. The mamma pizza was awesome along with the Cuban club sandwich. Drinks are plentiful and the cucumber and apple granita not to be missed. Give this place a try!

For as long as I can remember, this place is a great classic. From the decor to the food, this is an amazing place. Most of the dishes served are of hotel quality and service was pretty decent to say the least.

If you want amazing and made by the angels in heaven cake . This is your spot ,zero exaggeration . This little gem is in the middle of Sandton City Mall . <br/><br/>Their service is really great and the manager is constantly checking up on all the tables . It’s pretty cool that you get to see the cakes being made and the magic happens right in front of your eyes . I’ve never had the breakfast here but I hear it’s good too . <br/><br/>Be warned ,the portion slices are super huge and it takes a good hour to kill a slice . So sharing of one slice can definitely happen . <br/><br/>I’ll always love this place and without a doubt will always recommend it .

I came her on Friday morning with my two friends for some breakfast. <br/><br/>I was impressed with the set up and the ambiance. Got greeted by 4 friendly waiters/waitresses at the top of the stairs and we were walked to our table. <br/><br/>This place is classy and worth your money because the food is worth its value . The food was great and the service was perfection. Our waitresses name was Buhle and she was there to make us feel 'at home'. Her professionalism is something I appreciate the most because she made sure everything at our table was 'fine' and also checking up on us without being a nuisance. <br/><br/>It's cosy and a perfect place to eat. I highly recommend it because in my opinion Sandton city has many restaurants that fall flat on expectations. I can't give it a 5 because it's not the best restaurant I've been to, but is one of my memorable ones and I shall return.

Beautiful Decor still. I used to love this place and recommended it to everyone I know, I don’t know what happened? Ordered a salad that was way overpriced with soggy quinoa.. my husband had a philly burger and it was below average. I’m so sad I had this experience here... wish I hadn’t comeback and kept my old beautiful memories of walnut grove before it changed. Sorry guys :(

This is such an amazing spot. The ambience is amazing. The food was okay but the cakes were the winners of the day. I particularly enjoyed the rainbow cake. It was to die for. I really enjoyed myself.

Brilliant service from our waiter which made the experience more pleasurable. We ordered spicy shrimp tacos and fried calamari heads as starters. Both were delectable, the tacos were a definite fave. We also ordered salmon pasta as the main, it was good simple dish.

My favorite cake. Took me a hour to kill. Love the fresh pastries. My go to place for breakfast or a cup of tea with cakes. On this occasion I skipped being an adult and went straight for cake at 10am. Morning bliss

We popped in for a sweet treat and coffee on the way home. The cappuccinos were as delicious as the generous portion of mille feuille that we shared. The dessert options were plenty and the seating very comfortable. Service was good too.

They say that money doesn’t buy happiness and that retail is therapy. However there is one thing...ONE THING, that can change your state, elevate your serotonin levels and make you scream for more. For centuries monks and gurus have spent time seeking enlightenment, I found this in there nachos.

The ambience and decor of this place is impressive. We've tried their ferrero cake and chocolate ganache cheesecake and it was amazing. For mains we had nachos, chicken prego and almond crusted chicken fillets. Their portion sizes are large and proportional to the price. For drinks we had espresso and Virginia strawberry dacquiri. The warm drinks come with the cutest mini red velvet cupcake. Service can be slow at times but the waiters are friendly

I found myself in Sandton City after a cancelled meeting and was feeling rather nibblish. It has been many years since I have been to Walnut Grove as the usual cake and tea dates set by friends got taken up by work commitments, sadly.<br/><br/>As it was an odd time of the day to have a full meal, I opted for some tasty snacks.<br/><br/>Definitely Nachos because it is the perfect peckish pleasure. The salsa and guacamole was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The cheese was oh soooooo gooey and not too oily. It was Nachos in a bowl made of Nachos! One of the best nacho dishes I've had and very comforting.<br/><br/>Next up was the Halloumi Fries which were crunchy on the outside but perfectly cooked inside. The harissa mayo was a great accompaniment as a dip that added to the flavour and crunch.<br/><br/>The Iced Coffee Gelato that I opted to drink was perfectly chilled. The vanilla ice cream flavour cut the bitter coffee and made this drink one for my coffee based options as I do not particularly enjoy iced coffee anythings.<br/><br/>I took home a slice of Coconut Cake and Rainbow Cake which is always a pleasure and hits all spots!<br/><br/>Lastly I got 2 ciabattas which were crisp, crunchy and perfectly airy.<br/><br/>Walnut Grove will always be a favourite and I'll definitely be back for some comfort.

Although it’s a pretty restaurant with appealing aesthetics, this is not one of my favourite places in Sandton City. It’s smack bang in the middle of the mall and right above the food court so it gets really noisy. The service also slows down when busy. The food is average in taste but grand in size.

Sadden by how the tramezzini’s have become so dry and distasteful I always used to order them<br/><br/>But other than that I love everything; the vibe, cakes, coffee, main meals.<br/><br/>The meat platter is what I had the previous time. Very tasty

My wife and I went to Walnut Grove, as we had been here before and enjoyed the variety and quality of the pastries in offer. It's always been our de facto option for a nice dessert and drink, in a nice setting at Sandton City.<br/><br/>Unfortunately - tonight has completely changed my opinion of Walnut Grove. We were not impressed with the level of service. My wife and I were seated on a table that was not clean - with dirty crockery from previous customers - right next to the toilet. The dirty places were only removed once we were almost done with our order. We literally had to beg a waiter to serve us and when we did eventually get one, the level of service was subpar.<br/><br/>To cap it off, the rainbow cupcake that I shared with my wife was stale - the texture and taste of the cupcake sponge was rather dry.<br/>On the plus side the scone and the croissant were fresh and tasty. Overall not my greatest experience at Walnut Grove - I am quite disappointed at the deterioration of the quality of service.

I was doubtful of the Turmeric Latte, my sister insisted that I have. Yet, it exceeded my expectation😍😍 the ginger gives such a powerful zing!!!<br/><br/>My simple sandwich was not that amazing, I had to remove the ham, it was too much. <br/><br/>My sister was impressed with her salmon wrap, she said that it was tasty.

Walnut Grove is the only reason I would set foot in Sandton City. <br/><br/>The last time I came here was just for coffee and cake (Ferrero Rocher cake to be precise) and it was absolutely delicious — rich and flavourful. <br/><br/>The portion sizes are very generous. My brother and I couldn't even finish the slice together, we had to take some home. <br/><br/>The coffee wasn't bad either, my cappuccino was full-bodied and rich. The best part about the hot drinks is the tiny little cupcake that compliments them, probably the tiniest cupcake I have ever seen. <br/><br/>I keep coming back for more. <br/><br/><br/>

We went here for a cuppa and cake. We had a scone and carrot cake. The carrot cake was delicious and the scone ok. The service is average, decor is good.

I am sitting at walnut grove and finished a chicken lemon zest pasta in 5 mins, literally. I’m totally shocked at the portion I was given as walnut has always been generous with their meal portions. This is the first time I have been disappointed at this restaurant. As I write this review my wife is still eating and even though her portion of BBQ bourbon lamb chops is enough for her as she is a small eater, her portion is much smaller than what we have received in the past. I did ask my waitress about the portion size and all she asked was that if it was too small. There was no management intervention at all. I will not return in a hurry to this restaurant although I frequented it many times in the past. Very disappointing and will stop raving to people about it anymore.

For me a great find. Super nice people. And my Greek lamb chops are terrific. The rest of the menu looks tantalising as well. I will be back!

What a cute little find - I think I have walked past that staircase a million times without realizing what a cute restaurant is up there. Im someone that just loves to stop for a tea break and this is something I think Sandton City hugely lacks a choice of but so happy to now find Walnut grove. Prices are reasonable and the layout of the restaurant is very elegant and most tables seem very private ( you never feel like you part of the party next to you) staff are on the ball and food and drinks come in good time - A lovely place to stop at if you need a break from the hussle and bussle of the centre

needed a spot to get some work done and grab something light in sandton mall so picked this spot. I had a cappuccino which was excellent. I then had a slice of rainbow cake - the portion was big and I had leftover for home (yay😊) the cake was also super moist and very tasty I loved it. had a good morning sunshine juice which I also enjoyed. great service with a smile.

Upon entering the restaurant, the decor and shop fittings look amazing. The bakery and Cake section looks amazing. Decided to sit down and have a meal. Looking through the menu, I saw a few interesting dishes. The one that really caught my eye was the Kefta Marrakesh. Something totally different that I could not find in Pretoria. When I ordered it, I was told they did not have it in stock. Automatically this started to leave a bad impression. Okay so let’s try something healthier. Opted for the Zucchini Spagehetti. On the menu it states it was a wheat free option with long zucchini noodles prepared in a tomato base napolitana sauce with garlic, red onion, olive oil, cherry tomatoes and a sundried tomato pesto, sprinkled with zaa’ta spice. I also decided to add chicken strips for R39 extra. Well I must be honest, the dish tasted good but the chicken was somewhat hiding in the dish. For R39, one would expect to have a little more than what I got. Also the flat bread tortilla did not make sense on the plate as it the dish was advertised as wheat free. Overall the ambience and waiter service was enjoyable.

I love this place! The fact that you get a mini red velvet cupcake with your coffee is just brilliant it’s the perfect bite size to leave you satisfied. I did order a normal sized one though! Hehe.I love the minestrone soup from here, always ask if it’s available before I sit down. Gladly go back for more every time we are at Sandton city :)

It’s always a pleasure sitting at the Walnut grove. I love just sitting, having a great cuppa and reading a book at the Walnut grove. The staff is always friendly and their chocolate cake is almost as good as my own! Their dessert section is my favorite part of the entire menu!

Absolutely love this little place. The cappuccino is served with a min red velvet cake, which adds a little bit extra to the experience. It’s quite pricey for a coffee shop, however, the quality of food is amazing. The chicken salad was delicious. The fries with cheese and mushroom were ok. I will definitely come back here.

Walnut Grove is one of my favourite eating joints in Jo'burg. The food is not only yummy but it also suits the taste buds a lot. I have been here quite a number of times now, but have never been disappointed with the quality and taste of the food being served here.<br/><br/>The seating area is very comfortable and especially if one is seating on the sofa towards the railing. That's where I always prefer to sit. <br/><br/>The portion size is huge and too filling. <br/><br/>I love the African Rustic Nachos and have it every time I am there. These are literally soaked in cheese and served hot with cheese melting all over them. The dips served along with it also nice.<br/><br/>The flat bread and margarita pizza were also nice. We also had the butternut and tomato soup, served with butter and garlic bread.<br/><br/>Main course was quinoa salad with loads of walnut n fresh veggies for me. The portion size of the salad was good for two people. The other order was beef steak served along with curry, fries and sautéed vegetables. Both the dishes were too good and we were happy for our choices.<br/><br/>We also tried Berry shake and mango banana shake, both of it was too heavy and creamy.<br/><br/>The rainbow pastry was our last order as it was really very attractive.<br/><br/>All in all, it's a must go place of one is in Jo'burg. I might be going there again very soon.

The ribs are mouth watering, the veggies were well cooked and out of this world. The service was not as quick as I would have loved it to be, BUT the food made up for it! The environment is fresh and relaxing, seeing that it is situated in a busy mall, I love the feel.

Crazy prices, and they’re not consistent - the price list differs depending on which floor / level of the restaurant you sit. If you choose a restaurant so that you can “see and be seen”, then this is for you!

Used to be great food at a reasonable price. Nachos used to be a tower of nacho chips covered in spicy salsa and cheese accompanied by a cruet of guacamole, salsa and sour cream . Today for R129 I literally got 5 nacho chips with some cheese on it. A small blob of quacamole and half a tot of salsa, not even sour cream anymore. The whole thing looked like a starter. The cupcakes were stale. Not sure what has happened to the management but the quality of the food and value for money has taken a dive.

Great service, I’ve passed this restaurant countless times but today I decided to go in and see what the fuss was about. I was very happy with the wide variety on the menu, great milkshakes, wide variety of cakes. The food was delicious, I’ll be sure to pop in again when I am in JHB again.

After coming to the mall a few times, I knew I had to try the cake here! I ordered a slice of red velvet and it was delicious!!! Probably not good for the waistline, but I'll still come back again!

Had a wonderful dinner at Walnut Grove. The menu is a bit limiting especially because of their steep prices. I decided on the Chicken Curry and Chakalaka Hot Wings. <br/>The curry was served with brown rice so this is a plus for health conscious diners. It was delicious but the wings were way better. Full of flavour. Absolutely yummy.<br/>Presentation was on point. The ambience and decor was lovely, it was a quiet evening. The service from our waiter was amazing. Let's hope it's also like that on busy days as well.

Great beverages, different from other cafes and a good variety of them too! The Vanilla Bean Latte is amazing and their hot beverages are served with a mini red velvet cupcake on the side. Try them out, you won’t be disappointed and cravings will be satisfied.

This place never disappoints. I went there just to get 2 slices of their rainbow cake and as usual it was scrumptious. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a sweet tooth.

Lovely decor , very upmarket setting. Food and drinks are good but a tad pricey for the portion size. This is situated in Sandton city where there are tons of other restaurants so compared with their competitors I would make the above comments. Varied menu pastas , light meals , good deserts and drinks .

The men complained that the restaurant is a little dark. We didn't realize until we had to read the menu.<br/>Past this, they have amazing cupcakes which our friends keep going back for. Their food is really good but we waited quite some time for our waitress and our bill. Luckily we were with good friends so we had great company. If you go here, have some time to wait - or it might turn out horrible for you!

I've never had a bad experience here. Good service. Love the setting. The fillet is so good. Portions are huge. The breakfast is also good. Not too fond of the cakes though.

I have only been here once but I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience. The venue itself is gorgeous, located upstairs and away from the foodcourt and the rest of the restaurants. Had the lamb chops which I consider the best I have ever had! The food and drinks menu is very extensive with variety. I didn't try out the cakes but those too looked yummy! A must try restaurant and can't wait to come back again.

Went there with my family last week and 5 of the 6 meals brought to us were less than disappointing! <br/>The food is ridiculously overpriced and so not worth it.

Yesterday early evening about 4 friends decided to go to walnut before our 8 pm movie .<br/>The food was very good we ordered the butternut and cous cous salad and the nachos to share . The service however wasn't great. We had to flag down our waitress a few times for attention . She was pleasant it's just not attentive enough . Also the cloth used to put on our wine bucket was a shabby beige dish cloth with her name on it just felt for a Resturant of this standard ( decor etc is amazing that wasn't great . Think just service needs to improve

The Walnut Grove is always my go to whenever I I’m at Sandton City. The restaurant is situated inside the mall and is easily accessible. The food and service have never disappointed. They have a variety of lovely cakes on display that are for sale per slice, they are a bit pricey but are well worth it. Would definitely go and give the Walnut Grove a visit.

This used to be our favorite breakfast spot but since the menu changed we couldn't find anything we liked- we ended up ordering cappuccinos -I sent mine back because they brought me an Americana with dab of foam . I wish the menu hadn't changed.

Was so pleased to be able to make up my own meal...being on a diet and all....chicken breast and avo...nomnomnom. Lovely restaurant just wish the wine list had more variety and some good wines on there, outside of that...love it.

Did you know Walnut Grove is the oldest running restaurant in Sandton City? If not, we just hit you with some knowledge!<br/><br/>The food sure was a winner, great portion sizes and real tasty too. From the wraps to sharing platters, everything was on par with any good cafe. The pasta was especially good, we would walk back to Walnut Grove for another one of those bad boys.<br/><br/>We were disappointed by the service. We would ask our waiter about signature dishes, and all he could say was that everything on the menu is good. That is not the end of the world, but what annoyed us was, when we asked him to make sure about the sizes of the cocktails, he gave us wrong information and he couldn't be bothered about it, very unprofessional.<br/><br/>So the atmosphere had us on a 50/50. On the one side, it is a very elegant and posh setting, perfect for a relaxing and delicious meal. Always a treat to visit this lovely restaurant. Decor is amazing. Love their cakes! A very big Rainbow cake fan. I always have a chicken dish - always very succulent and well prepared. The staff can sometimes be a bit all over the place. But none the less, I will return!

Walnut Grove is a landmark in sandton city, being there for the longest time. For some odd reason I haven't visited since they renovated a couple of years back. Went for breakfast on Sunday...they have the most delectable cake display. I had their croquette eggs Benedict...poached eggs, potato & Parmesan croquettes, spinach, Emmental cheese, bacon...it was delicious, although I didn't like the lemon zest dressing that it was served with.

Walnut Grove is one of the best bakers in town and I simply adore their Rainbow cake. It's a must if you are celebrating your loved ones birthday. Also the veg pasta is amazingly tasty and all the cakes are yummy. Milk shakes are cool too and you can try some Macaroons. There are wide variety of food items to choose while you shop in the luxurious Sandton city mall. Thanks

I have visited this establishment on numerous occasions as I work close by. Ideally located in a central part of the mall at the food court, however placed slightly above the other conventional restaurants. <br/><br/>Food and service has never disappointed. It is however a restaurant in a mall so the ambience is what you would expect of this sort of setting.

It was quite late and the restaurant was close to closing but nevertheless, the staff was very happy to serve us our late night cake and coffee fix. They accommodated our child with warm milk. The cake was really good - especially their rainbow velvet. Awesome spot with awesome cake and coffee.

I love the Walnut Grove. It has such a comfortable feel to it. All the staff is so friendly. The food is really good; I love their cake shakes!! Definitely a must try!

one of the longest standing eateries in Sandton City and in Johannesburg in general, that alone will tell you that this establishment can stand the test of time. The red velvelt cake is the best in town. The quick bites are also of a very high quality, when in doubt, go for the La Med Panini

Walking past the massive cake and cupcake display is going to be your first but pleasant challenge. Second will be to pick one of their wide selection of tasty dishes. The portions are size able and the coffees excellent. Somewhat hidden on a mezzanine level to the north of the food court, reachable by a set of stairs. Our first choice for breakfast in Sandton City.

Extremely bland food. Took much longer than expected. Had a Thai Beef wrap that was essentially overcooked dry rump with dry vegetables in a dry wrap. Chips were nice, but I certainly wouldn't return.

The restaurant has beautiful decor and helpful staff. The food here however is very overpriced, for very average tasting run-of-the-mill food. I wouldn't rush here to have a meal. <br/><br/>I would however rush here to have one of their cakes, which are well worth paying for. Very tasty and worth the potential diabetic onslaught.

Service good. Restaurant has comfortable seating. Meals very average/small & overpriced. Coffee terrible. Cakes are the only positive for this restaurant. Wouldn't waste my money again here. Get the coffee downstairs at the Krispy Kreme- 100x better.

Went there for tea and cake. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The Ferrero Rocher cake is absolutely incredible! Live your best life by trying it.

First time at what seems to be a staple for those visiting Sandton City. Food was okay and the service could have been a bit more attentive.<br/><br/>Yes, we were in a bit of a hurry (my better half was anxious to not miss the opening credits of Fifty Shades Darker) - But we certainly expected more.<br/><br/>

We found a dead cockroach in the menu. When we finished eating we then saw a rat in the restaurant. We reported both to the manager but he was quite relaxed about it. He said he was going to discount our bill but he did not. The rat came back and we showed it to him and even managed to take pictures  because it was quite relaxed - familiar territory. Worst experience!!!!

Even giving them a rating of one is doing them a favour. I am absolutely disgusted, when we arrived at the restaurant, my friend found a dead cockroach in her menu. We decided to still dine there regardless as it was late and it would have been too much effort to find somewhere else to dine. Then when we were paying, my friend jumped from her seat screaming because she saw a rat. The staff looked at us as if we making a big deal about nothing. No shame or remorse. We paid the bill and left. This place is a health hazard really and health inspectors need to check it out.

Average spot to stop at for a bite when shopping. Had the toasted Swiss cheese sarmie which was quite nice, quite a big portion and the chips were pretty good as well. Service was quite slow though.

It's been a while since my last visit...and I was surprised. The service was a lot better and the food arrived a lot faster than usual. I ordered a trammezini which was very tasty. I will definitely return.

The food is tasty and the staff friendly. However, sadly, that is about it. We were seated above the food court and it was as if we were sitting in it. All the noise, including screaming children permeates the upstairs area. This badly diminishes the atmosphere of Walnut Grove and gives the impression one is paying high prices to sit in the food court.

A verity of freshly baked cakes and cup cakes lingers in the air as you try to control yourself walking by this amazing establishment.<br/>A elegant set up with a hint of fun is the ambiance which surrounds this magical place, the classic margherita pizza is always a good idea apart from everything yummy this menu has to offer. <br/>Thumbs up for me

I have always loved this place, it never disappoints me. Lots of food varieties to choose from, amazing food and very filling. The service is also top notch!

We just stopped here for a quick coffee. From the moment we stepped in it was magic. The manager and the waiters are all so up beat. They have a great selection of cakes "baked fresh onsite every day non-negotiable !" The decor is very pretty and I think this would make a cute spot for a date. Looking at the food coming out of the kitchen I wish I hadn't eaten earlier. We had a double espresso and an americano both served with the cutest little red velvet cupcake. We also decided to share a piece of coconut cake which was delicious !!

Besides a serly waitron with an attitude, this restaurant really trumps most patisseries.<br/>Well positioned in the food court of Sandton City with clever planned access points from 2 levels, they have the most magical display of cakes that l have ever feasted my eyes upon.<br/>The presentation of the food is unique and truly outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and will definitely go back. <br/>Their cheese cake l am still waiting to find a word to adequately describe. Heaven doesn't even cut it. <br/>The salads are presented in edible large delicious baskets. Truly fantastic.

A really nice spot in the heart of Sandton City mall for that quick coffee and croissant in an updated earthy contemporary ambience. Very welcoming seating arrangements and pretty much anything on the menu is delicious. <br/>Rating however takes a knock with my recent experience whereby I arrived at around 9pm however no one in the restaurant knew if a sandwich could be made given kitchen closure. Some waiters gave the nod then 5min later another said no then in seconds yes and then another no. This is really a great place but I believe customer service in South Africa has been dropped to an all time low. No one really cares anymore to make that quick buck or go the extra mile in order to show some initiative of entrepreneurship. In this case the restaurant ambience and prior great food was not enough for walnut grooves brand loyalty to make me stay for just that quick cup of coffee. <br/>Customer service does go a long way!!!

This is definitely a good place to catch up with old friends or just chill out after a shopping spree. They have some of the the most Beautiful looking cakes that are absolutely Divine one you eat them . Their drinks are amazing from milkshakes to great cuppachinoso and teas. <br/><br/>A great place to sneak off and enjoy a decadent sweet treat by yourself or with great company. Neeta Raga-D

This place has the most amazing food and great drinks. I can't fault it anywhere, except that the prices are a little steep for relatively simple ingredients. Worth every penny, though.

Love it!love it! Love it! The set up has this intimate feel. I fell in love with the large chairs. Everything works well together. The food was great, but their cakes and cupcakes are definitely something to write home about. You have to try their rainbow cake at least once. But they have a large selection and each one looks delectable. I am however just a bit disappointed by the shop upstairs. It has a bit of a insect problem,probably due to all the sweet crumbs on the floor,that puts a wet towel on the whole experience.

It is an absolutely amazing experience from the time you walk up (or down) to the restaurant. <br/><br/>The ambience is wonderful, decor is beautiful, the food was scrumptious and my favorite part was the aromas that filled the air. Freshly baked croissants and other pastries, cakes being baked and iced in front for all to see and the staff are friendly and quite efficient.<br/><br/>The only thing that would make it even better is if they cater for Halaal. Other than that, the place is AMAZING ❤

Best Carrot cake I've ever had. I like to small touches.. Adding a tiny red velvet cup cake on the side of my tea. Tea pot was so beautiful. Love this coffee shop❤️🍰☕️

My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is always delicious and well presented, and the baked goods are worth cheating on your diet. The atmosphere is very relaxed and is enjoyable whether having a nice cuppa or meal.
