Set on a working farm in the natal midlands, the views at the cafe are gorgeous! Looking over the farm and cattle in the fields, it's so peaceful and away from the city noises. The cheese and other treats available are my favourite. I go there to stock up my stash. From jams to Brie, yoghurts to ice cream, pickles, and breads. Well worth the visit! Great coffee and lunch menu. Our best lunch is the bacon and Brie on sourdough 👌 with a hot, delicious cuppacino!
Rustic little fromagerie. Good cheese and friendly service. They organised a little cheese tasting while we were having coffees. Since it is based in the barn, bring something warm!
Small little Dairy/cheese farm. Had a lovely platter of cheese and biscuites! They do not take cards which almost left us redfaced as we dont normaly cary cash! Was dissapointed that the did not offer tours to see how the cheese is made. Very small amount of stock of cheeses for sale eventhough we visited in high season.
Great cheeses , yogurts , condiments, and much more. Lovely views
We had the most delicious cheese lunch in delightful surroundings. Situated on a working dairy farm it is relaxed with such a friendly and passionate owner! To start we all shared a baked Brie with garlic and rosemary served with cut veggies and gorgeous baguette. After that we each had baguette with more brie, bacon and cranberry. When we sat down we were given water with lemon and a tiny bowl of delicious cheese (can't remember the name?) Such a very yummy lunch!
We've been there twice and both times Caroline went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The second time we arrived five minutes before closing time and we were still served a delicious cheese platter with hot bread.
You do need to take enough cash as there are no credit card facilities. The service is friendly, the food is ideal if you adore cheese.
Lovely working farm, truely unique experience. After visiting the farm we noticed their dairy/cheese products in local grocery stores and we are now hooked. We were a group of close to 30 who held a Birthday coffee & scones party at the farm and the owner was very accommodating and she and her staff provided excellent service.
Beautiful Midlands farm experience. Excellent cheese and home to the special Karkloof Farmers Market.
It's unlikely you will get a much better cheese experience in South Africa with the best quality, locally produced range of cheeses, made within metres of the cows in the pastures. Wonderful cafe with delicious preserves, condiments and #terbadore roasted coffee.
The farm butter is certainly the real Mcoy. The milk still has real cream on top. The coffee was excellent and the cheeses are good. Well worth a visit if you find yourself anywhere near Howick.
