Sunday, February 4, 2018, our guests from Australia and a friend from Pietermaritzburg accompanied Heather and me to your restaurant for lunch. After a warm and super welcome from Werner and his helping hand with the ladies climbing the steps we entered the delightful restaurant and were immediately impressed by the ambience, the neatness and table setting. Comfort our waiter was equally warm and friendly and provided excellent service to us throughout our lunch. The food was top quality in presentation, portions and taste and Michele superbly not only cooks excellent cuisine but ensures it is delivered to tables for absolute dining pleasure. It was also heart warming to see their children doing their part and supporting mom and dad in service to diners. I can heartily recommend a visit to this restaurant - you will not be disappointed. Made a detour on our way back from Nambiti and stopped in at this wonderful restaurant! We had the fillet and lamb medallions cooked to perfection! I didn't think it could get any better until our waiter Comfort brought out the chocolate fondant and strawberry cheese cake! A truly wonderful meal with AWESOME service! Thank you!

Beautiful place. Delicious food. Wonderful service. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The place is pretty, neat and well maintained. The views are breathtaking. I could sit with a cup of coffee and stare across the mountains all day. I just felt so at peace. The food is a bit pricey, but definitely well worth it. I had the spinach cannelloni. I enjoyed it but couldn't finish it because it was a bit rich for me. My cousin had the herb crusted chicken, which I tasted, and it was delicious. We also shared the fallen chocolate soufflé and the cheesecake. The soufflé was so decadent. Completely worth it. The cheesecake however, was not to my taste. Google maps sent us along the Currys Post Road, but I will definitely not use this route again. I wish Google Maps had provided us with alternatives. Most of the roads are dirt roads until you reach a stretch along the way that used to be a road, but not much is left of it. So there are patches of road and then patches that are sort of corroded or sunk in, not sure what happened but it's very uneven. I have a little car, which makes these roads much more intimidating to me. A turtle would have definitely beaten me to the destination. If you don't mind those types of roads/"off roads", you'll maybe be okay, but just be prepared. However, if you'd rather avoid that and don't mind a bit of a longer drive, you can go in through Howick. Once you get into Howick (not too far from the main city/Howick Falls area) there's a road with a veterinary clinic and you just go straight up and you'll end up at the destination. (I do need to check road names the next time I go). It is a really long journey but the food is worth it.

Wow my wife and I have been looking for a restaurant just like this. We were very impressed. On arriving we were greeted by the owner who as I watched greeted all his guests personally and welcomed them to the restaurant. We were then led to our table by very friendly staff members. The restaurant has an old farm house vibe but with some classy finishes. The views from the veranda were very relaxing and had a great view of the surrounding countryside. The food was AMAZING such unusual dishes interesting ideas more like works of art than food very good and so different from the usual boring same old same old menus you get everywhere else...thank you so much for such a great time we will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu.

Excellent Family Meal A party of 9 were well taken off, with meals served perfectly. The meat was cooked to perfection. Veggies were succulent. The service, by our waiter John, was outstanding. Come for the food - stay for the atmosphere. Dessert was a simple Pleasure

Food was amazing. Our waiter Joe was so on top of his game. No request was too big or small. An absolute pleasure. If you're in the Midlands and looking for a superb place to eat I would recommend Tumble Downs.

We had lunch over the weekend. Lunch was good and enjoyable. Some unusual items on the menu. Beautiful views. Owner and staff were friendly however we had to wait a while to get another drinks order in , which we eventually went without and also a long time to get our bill sorted even though didn't seem extremely busy. Definitely worth a detour for lunch.

The location of the restaurant is very romantic. The dishes were tastefully presented. The Rumpsteak was magnificent. The Fillet Shack super soft and very tastety. The atmosfeer is warm and cosy with fires burning on a rainy misty night.
