We walked into a very busy Snoekies.I was impressed with the friendly staff,efficient service and clean eating area despite the busyness.I did not wait longer than 10 mins for the seafood platter. Everything was fresh and very tasty.Im usually a snoek girl but the hake I have yesterday was the best ever.Thank you for a lovely meal Snoekies.

Best fish 'n chips in Cape Town, lovely crispy batter around the fish, massive portions could only finish half of the plate. Value for money, very casual atmosphere and overall fun experience.

Wow!
Firstly I fell in love with Hout Bay 19 years ago on my first visit to Cape Town. On this visit, Hout Bay did not disappoint and Snoekies (recommended by many) was an added bonus. The portions are huge with tons of chips so don't order rolls. The staff and friendly as ever and service is quick and efficient.

Picture a white sandy beach, cold glass of wine and a burnt orange sunset... the only thing missing is snoekies fish and chips of course to make it the perfect seaside meal!
A regular go to take away fish stop for the perfect fish on the beach at sunset option. The fish is well battered and not too oily, the calamari follows the same trend and both are served in generous portions with traditional slap chips!

Amazing and quality fish for very low value of money! Vegetarian friendly with quite a bit to pick from considered it is a fish and chips. I haven't seen service as fast as theirs before, not even a 1 minute wait for your order!!! Definitely recommend

Quick in and out as I've been told this is THE fish place to visit when in HoutBay. The place is a little hidden and you may miss it! Fish was nice and fresh and tasted great. Nicely spiced batter.

You can't visit Cape Town without swinging by Snoekies. It has literally been here forever and is a must. Right by the ocean with some seals and seagulls to add to the atmosphere. They serve large portions of chips and all types of seafood - deep fried and at a very reasonable price. A real...

We had a family day out in Hout Bay and the trip isn't complete without having fish and chips so because it was windy and fish on the rocks was full we opted for Snoekies. We went for the fisherman's basket. Fish was fresh, flaky and crispy batter with crispy chips and the calamari was tender. Finished off with some dessert which was a bar one for hubby and rolo sugar cone for me.

For someone who doesn't like fish... It was one of the best plates of food I ever had. I had the usual suspect Hake and Chips and it was delicious! Don't forget to ask for extra Lemon.

Glad we finally found it! If you're wondering where it is, head for Hout Bay harbour market on Waze.
Hake and chips with single fillet is more than enough food... And the quality of the fish is outstanding
Friends had the platter with hake, calamari and prawns... It's well worth it for 4 people and cost a lot less than 4 hake and chips that we ordered.
Excellent meal!
Not the fanciest place and be prepared to queue!
