Really looked for something different when we were looking for a place to have lunch and this place ticked all the boxes. Great pizza✔️ Ice cold beer ✔️ Great atmosphere✔️ Great menu✔️Great history✔️ All in all I can't fault it👊🏼
Love Sleepers. The food is terrific. Service may be a little laid back but who cares, it's a great place to be sitting and the trees are magnificent
The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and the table settings are cozy and intimate. The food was excellent, and we did not wait long. I like it when a restaurant serves kids' dishes before the adult orders as this gives you a chance to help younger kids where necessary without your own food getting cold. The curry was flavourful, the steak perfectly done. Service was fast, efficient and friendly.
ok experince.
-I was here around 1230-1pm (nov 14). It took a while for my drink, 25+ min for coca cola, and they had not taken my order yet either, and i saw many other servers standing around.
-My server came out with the coca cola and said she had cut her finger, and that was why it took so long.
-Took my order and the food came in another 15min or so.
-The food was good, i had a chicken sandwich, it was good.
-nice outdoor seating
Overall it was good, but i was on a bit of a time limit, just before she came out with my coca cola, i was about to stand up and leave and find someplace faster for lunch.I can understand if she was injured, but why didnt any other server standing around help her?
Great place. Great food. You might wait if it’s busy. Local beer on tap.
They have a big menu with lots of options. Vegetarian friendly.
We had the dough balls, kiddies pizza and shroom pasta this time.
Sometimes the train passes which the kids like.

Hoedspruit best hidden gem!
I recently went back to Sleepers again and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant's setting at an old railway station is truly unique and adds a special charm to the ambiance. The interior decor tastefully reflects the original design, transporting diners back in time to a bygone era.
The outdoor area at Sleepers is simply stunning, nestled amongst the trees and offering a serene atmosphere. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a meal while being surrounded by nature's beauty. The attention to detail in the restaurant's outdoor space is commendable, creating a lovely ambiance that enhances the overall dining experience.
As for the food, I was thoroughly impressed. The quality of the dishes was top-notch, and the flavors were exquisite. It was evident that the culinary team at Sleepers takes great pride in their craft, as each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented with care.
I also appreciated the addition of the outdoor play area, which was a hit with kids and families. It's always a plus when a restaurant caters to families and provides a safe and enjoyable space for children to play.

We come here every few months and it never disappoints. We usually have burgers or pizza. We recently tried the Oxtail burger which was amazing. We also had the chicken schnitzel with brandy sauce and avocado - even though it was really good, the portion size was a bit disappointing, especially for the price you pay. They are open during loadshedding, but just remember you'll have a long wait for the food then. Will really recommend Sleepers, the vibe is always nice.

Great food. Defenitely worth a visit. Very well priced. We enjoyed the food so much that I firgot to take a photo of the meal.
Nice place. Seems to be popular amongst the locals. My T-bone was unfortunately on the Medium side of Medium-rare, something that is unfortunately common when steaks are cut too thin.
