Monday night dinner out. As we decided to go to Jack Salmon Hillcrest. Friendly and warm welcome and the door. Ordered drinks that was very prompt, starters and mains. Well trained staff en very friendly with a sense of humor as well. Food was delicious, well presented and really well priced. Was a great evening and will recommend this to others.

This is my favourite restraunt, food is exceptional prices are reasonable, some great specials. Decor is very pleasant, service is always good. All the times I have been to this restaurant I have never been disappointed.

We tried some sushi which was really delicious, the poke bowl was tasty... We expected more from our dessert "death by brownie"... Service was friendly.

Highly recommend for delicious food and excellent service. Lunch menu is a treat. Each of our company of three chose different dishes and all were top notch and at a very reasonable price. Our top pick from a four day stay in Durban.

Absolutely beautiful and classy ambience which is a feast for the eyes. Some of the food at our table was good and tasty but the prawns on our visit were certainly lacking. There were just a few of them in the serving and the taste and texture was sadly lacking. Perhaps we were just unlucky.

Went for a Saturday date night and it was an awesome experience. Service was fantastic, food was incredible, atmosphere was warm and vibrant. Recommend the salmon carpaccio and pesto calamari starters. I had a platter with the most divine kingklip, the tuna was okay but not a recommendation, flavour was a bit bland and texture was closer to mushy than to flaky. What a wonderful experience, we will definitely be returning

The mid week lunch time special is great value for money and service is hands on without being intrusive The fish and chips as well as the Chicken Supreme are really great. I would recommend Jack Salmon to anyone and continue to support them. Well done

I was very impressed with the friendly service and the ambiance. I loved the food and the presentation. Definitely worth a visit. One can go dressed casually, but it is definitely a place where one should dress up a bit in the evening. Will definitely be back!

Best seafood that I have had in a long time. Staff are polite and friendly, excellent knowledge of the menu. Lovely ambience and the decor is fresh and modern. A lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Other than the confusion on entering (the waitron was totally discombobulated by the fact that we had not booked - which is why we went so early for dinner) the experience was very good. We enjoyed a platter for 2 with dorado and kingklip, lovely fresh prawns and calamari, and that fabulous culunary delight to the tastebuds, Jack's sauce. The young girl at the next table had icecream and chocolate sauce so tempted my husband to that as well. Service was very good and our female waitron well made up for the first little faux pas by the male waitron and male (manager/ front-of-house?) Just a tip to them both : maintain a calm appearance and have your little disagreement or whatever that was out of customers sight and hearing. The correct way would have been for the waitron who greeted us to say "Please wait a minute while I confirm where I should seat you" & gone to find the manager and quietly say "No booking, where shall I sit them?" and the manager in a quiet aside to him "That table no.x" instead of the scathing reply "It's Saturday?(insert whatever the word was)! Sit them there" - without so much as greeting us himself. Most unwelcoming. Luckily we did not allow this to detract from our dinner since I've been in their place before myself 😊

Beautiful place. I like decoration and atmosphere. Sushi is nice. I put 4 stars because paella was not nice. The rice is over cooked.

They hv a lovely reasonably priced lunch special. We started with tempura prawns. They were large and well cooked with sweet chilli dip. Absolutely delicious. For mains we chose Jacks battered fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked, moist and delicious. Well the chips were the best I had ever tasted. For pudding I had their creme brulee. Very very yummy. This restaurant hasnt bn in Hillcrest very long. With such nicely presented and delicious tasting fine dining food, good service too they can only be very successful!!

SO and I decided at short notice to go out for dinner. The service was good, food was great. I had a platter and they had Kingklip both were well prepared and presented.

I love their sushi! I mostly eat there for lunch and enjoy both the Hillcrest and Durban North restaurants. Great open feeling and all round a lovely experience.
