Cand's Kitchen

CanD's Kitchen is a place I would call in the classic South African term "LOCAL IS LEKKER". Honestly what a lovely, beautiful and charismatic diamond of a coffee bistro / cafe CanD's Kitchen truly is. This is a place that you can truly say is South African and where food is cooked with love and from the soul. We dined as a family for lunch and enjoyed the dishes available on display. Please see photos, however my favorite was the feta, butternut, lettuce and sunflower seed salad with a vinaigrette dressing. But to be honest it all looked so mouth watering and delicious, but the most important aspect was that it gave that feeling of a home cooked meal from your mother. To think everything is cooked daily and used with very fresh ingredients from the surrounding areas made with loads of love and care. Now as for his sweet finale setup and display of all the cookies, brownies, cakes and other desserts, what can one say except that, one would want to try everything and to think you can as you can order a slice of each. This is heaven for the sweet tooth fanatic and dessert lover. There carrot cake and vanilla cheese cake are both to die for not being over sweet and full of flavor with a smooth enjoyable texture and goes just perfectly with a red cappuccino or americano. They also do have gluten free and vegetarian options so if you need ask them. The decor is unique and a lot has been designed and built by the owner Daniel himself, showing the other side of his trade and the many talents he possesses. The color scheme and brightness lights up the environment and brings a character to this establishment which compliments the food and the owners. From the time you walk in you are welcomed as if you entering their home and made to feel so comfortable and relaxed. The staff are attentive, friendly and positive. This must have something to do with how polite, courteous, genuine, caring, friendly and attentive Daniel is himself. Great job Daniel and team keep it up. This place is a must visit for a brunch or lunch and try if one is in Hermanus and say hello to Daniel the owner / chef.

I had the 'Average Joe' breakfast one morning and it was well above my expectation. The chef was so polite and friendly. I would totally recommend this place.

With breakfast being my favourite meal of the day, the menu and vibe at Candi's was worth every moment spent there. We were a tour group of 9px ending a 2 week tour across the Garden Route and we were delighted by the cosy and cute garden, awesome service from our waiters and warm welcome from the chef. Breakfast was a variety of gourmet omelettes, eggs Benedict, savory pancakes, poached eggs with avo and served on grilled aubergine as well as grilled cheese and tomato sandwich on farm baked bread. The coffee was perfect too. Love this place and will definitely be back again.

I found this place in Google map. Just behind the Main Tourist street, Simple but nice place for breakfast. Service was nice.

Good food and wicked sense of humour! And will keep coming back. As where else do I get my post work out French toast stack! Nom nom. Early on a Saturday morning? 😁

A hidden gem in Hermanus. Very homely feel with great food, coffee and service. The courtyard is beautiful to sit in summer under a huge ornamental vine. Excellent value for your money
