What an absolutely wonderful experience, besides the great wines and the incredible architectural design of this intimate estate, the people there just add another layer of connectedness and a personal touch. Thanks to Amanda and Gian for a great time, their knowledge and friendliness was appreciated. The location and views are the cherries on a very large cake.

Exceptional food, really good wines to pair with, but the the food is truly exceptional. Delicious blend of flavors without being complicated. Freshest ingredients and a small menu but with a choice for every palate! Friendly and efficient staff with stunning views over the valley. Make sure to book to avoid disappointment.

Loved their tasting experience. Amanda was incredible with beautiful and detailed explanations of the wines. I love the atmosphere here, it’s slightly smaller than Creation meaning you get impeccable service and feeling looked after as a guest. I prefer Spookfontein over Creation in terms of service and atmosphere. The wines are great if not better. Felt very welcome here and will definitely be back!

An incredible destination- the building design and decor is modern and incredibly beautiful. So is the food at the restaurant and the wine tasting. Another incredible destination in the Hemel and Aarde Valley near Hermanus. I would put 6* if I could.

Had a lovely afternoon here. The seating area has high ceilings and tables are spaced far apart giving everyone their bit of privacy and fresh air. The food was well prepared and presented with the Pork Ramen being my favourite dish of them all followed by the brownies and the tuna. The staff are friendly and professional. We did have one overcooked steak but they were kind enough to grill a new one - Definitely appreciated this. The restaurant has an incredible view in the Hemel & Aarde Valley. Could spend a whole day here and would visit again. The food is well priced, not overly expensive (like some other places in the area) and well worth the drive.

What a surprising experience. I think this has to be the fastest restaurant in the overberg. We placed our order and the kitchen sprang to life and in minutes we had our food, all at the same time. And very delicious food, well presented. Served by Nick, very professional no nonsense man. We were so impressed by the rose, that we continued with a wine tasting. Chris made this a wonderful experience. Overall a very enjoyable and highly recommend experience.

A friend and I went to Spookfontein over the past weekend for wine tasting. It was our first time there and the experience was incredible. The wines were delicious and the Cape Ruby was excellent. The views from the wine tasting area are beautiful too.

My new favourite restaurant in the area. Away from the touristy spots. Great menu, affordable, perfect friendly service. amazing setting too, in the valley named Heaven and earth . Hope you will be there after lockdown.

Friendly staff, amazing food, beautiful views. A lovely place to eat and enjoy the view of the valleys, mountains and the sea in the distance. We enjoyed a linch of fish and chips with their craft beer.

First time visitor to Spook. Place was banging but they arranged a table for us. We had wine tastings and platters, must say the platters could do with a redesign, but importantly, the wine was absolutely stunning. Hemel en Aarde continues to produce fantastic pinot noir and the flagship phantom was equally world class. Also had a sneaky preview of the chardonnay and look forward to returning. it’s my first trip out since March! Now that Intra-Provincial travel is allowed, I took a trip to one of my favorite wine regions in winter, the Hemel en Aarde wine valley. I checked into the @spookfonteinwines Sunbird cottage which has magnificent views of the Merlot vineyard block. The rustic charm of these self-catering, country cottages forces you to be one with nature (no tv or WiFi here). Whilst switching off to the world, you can enjoy dinner prepared by the restaurant and delivered to you (partially cooked so you can heat and eat safely) whilst you relax in front of the fireplace. There are two cottages at Spookfontein, each sleeping four people. Expect it to be fully booked until October as these cottages go for a steal of a price! Just R535 per person, per night. Disclaimer... as I am a qualified tourist guide, wine was permitted to showcase what you can expect when the alcohol ban is lifted. Masks, social distancing and sanitizing hands are a top priority during the pandemic. Travel safe!

Spookfontein exceeded every expectation, our waiter was on the ball, knew how food was prepared and served, made excellent recommendations and kept our glasses full. The food was out of this world, tasty, full of flavour, good portions and very well presented.

It's no secret that Spookfontein Wines are the best in the region with a selection of toned whites with subtle hints of fruit - to deep red's vibrant with tobacco roasted flavours caught in flavoursome plums and cherry's. Whatever your choice is, when it comes to wine tasting, you're in for a treat and a well rounded storytelling from your host. Humm...dont forget to ask for Chris 😍 not only does he share the history and story of each wine selection. He shares it in a way that really makes these wines come to life....even if you're not a avant wine connoisseur. The cafe foodies are truly chef inspired however kitchen closed promptly at 15h00 so get there early to enjoy the wine, food and the breathe taking scenery 😋

Was there on Saturday we did a wine tasting...bought some wine and decided to have a look at your lunch menu. We left to do rest if our tour. We all decided that your menu was interesting and not overpriced and returned to have lunch...3 of us had beef sirlion and 1 had oxtail...the best was made brilliantly. .tasty and presented very well...your desserts was from another planet...so delicious. Will definitely recommend this fine restaurant for the lovely food and wine. Top class

We visited the Spookfontein vineyard Restaurant in Hemel en Aarde (Hermanus) WOW! The chef was beyond accommodating and put on a VEGAN feast! If you are in the area I would highly recommend the restaurant. Starter- table salad, spinach and butternut dhal 😍 Main- coconut milk and vegetable curry😍. I was too full for dessert 🙈

Fantabulous! Fabulous view & the food was amazing. First time there...... You have a little gem there. Turn in and taste the crisp Sauvignon Blanc.
