Food looks big, is big and decent quality. I was very impressed by the bitterballen, as I’m familiar with them. Well done.

Visiting from the UK so it's always a gamble on where to dine. Besides the great location Dutchies appears to have a very strong loyal local custom so it follows that the place is good. Whilst it gives the appearance of just being a beach side bar and snack place you can actually tell the place is professionally run and the staff are great. Our food was very good and reasonably priced, plus you get that great view thrown in.

We booked a table in the shade for lunch. It was lovely. The dogs were welcomed and given water bowls. All the food was very tasty. The restaurant was very busy so food took slightly longer than usual but with such a lovely atmosphere and view it’s not a problem.

This was our first stop on a Saturday wine tasting in Stanford. Only a 15 min drive followed by a stunning beach walk in front of Dutchies with our dog. Sat down for a delicious coffee and stroopwafel. The outside area is very dog friendly but it was early and cold so they allowed us to sit inside and gave him a treat, too.

This restaurant is next to Grotto Beach. The menu has a wide range of things to choose from from omelettes, to sushi. On the sushi, I am also impressed by how fresh and delicious it is although, for some reason, it takes significantly longer to prepare than other menu items. The service is very friendly.

The food was good but some dishes were under seasoned. The service was good generally, but we were neglected at times. Desserts were excellent and the coffee was very good. I have to add, one of our mains was not what we ordered either.

We had a nice lunch here. They have nice things for lunch. The food is very tasty and the portions are big. The sushi is a must as is the club sandwich. You can order typical Dutch dishes such as croquettes and bitterballen. These were also very tasty. You look out over the sea and when it is cold outside. Can you sit behind a windshield? The staff are nice. This was the perfect place for us to have lunch after the coastal walk.
The prices are not very low, but its worth it.

Great place. We are from Spain and just here for 2 days. We walked through the coast from town centre to this restaurant in Grotto beach (very recommended) . The food is good, we had some wine and sushi, we saw so many whales while we were eating and the staff were very attentive. We really recommend coming here if you are in Hermanus and there is good weather.

We love Dutchies .. we have had dinner here twice , breakfast with guest from the UK and drinks at the beach lounge .. we have found the staff pleasant, helpful, kind and efficiency .. good value great food spectacular view!!!!

First stay in Hermanus and my sister and I decided to try Dutchies for supper. They had outdoor movies and we opted to watch. Very beautiful set up, staff very friendly and sushi was very good.
Would have liked more movie food options eg pizza or burgers and not just the sushi as hot food would have been nice as it got a bit cold, but overall it was a lovely experience.

Popped in for supper late on a cool Saturday afternoon. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic. Best hake I've ever had; crispy, light and tasted great. Definitely will be on my go to list in Hermanus.

Visited Dutchies for Kingsday- they had such a lovely festive vibe with the live music,and oh the orange everywhere! We were welcomed by Franco who made us feel very welcome, and found a table for us. I thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Dutch food (bitterballen as starter and Pork belly with Hutspot for mains)- BEAUTIFULLY presented and it was delicious! Definitely needs more food options. Especially since it is a great unique location but I would be more inclined to go back if there were more food options. Otherwise the staff was great and it was awesome to sip on cocktails with your toes in the sand!
