The Eats:
Pepper steak pie, gravy and chips
Spinach and feta pie and chips
Double thick choc shake
Apple crumble and ice cream
Choc brownie and ice cream
Pros:
Good service and friendly staff
The meat pie was delicious
The milkshake was good
We bought a packet of salted caramel biscuits, which were good as well!
Cons:
Not really a con, though the puddings were standard and not on the same level as the pies
A real oasis for the weary traveler. A warm, farm atmosphere with friendly staff willing to go the extra mile. Plenty of seating both inside and outside under a beautiful tree with lots of shade. Playground for children right next to the outdoor seating area. Clean toilets a bonus. There is also quite a big gift shop as well as a farm butchery. And best of all, my tea and cake arrived simultaneously!
Great food and friendly service. We really enjoyed our morning at Skeerhok. We both had the bacon omelette and it was delicious.
They are dog friendly.
Go ahead and visit the butchery there, the meat is well priced and they are well stocked.
Wonderful meal with friendly service. Something for all to enjoy! Kids, parents, even the dog!
Prices are extremely affordable (R55 for the meal in picture- curry mince roosterkoek with salad or chips). Well worth the stop!
A fantastic place with superb dishes.
The homemade lemonade did not meet my taste but the lamb shanks and especially the desserts were phenomenal. Additionally, the staff is very friendly & helpful.
All that can be enjoyed in q beautiful farm-like ambience.
What an amazing place to stop for lunch. The pies are delicious as are the many others tasty items for sale. Seated beneath the huge tree in the cool of its shade is the best place to relax on your trip.
Wonderful dining experience and such a welcoming and wholesome interior. Just what you need coming out of the baking sun or chilling wind. Their homemade pies and gravy is to die for!
We really loved this stopover! Country atmosphere, very nice food! Bought lot's of homemade goodies. Bathrooms are clean and neat. Service was friendly and efficient! Fresh honey, bread, muffins and pies available. Jams, jellies, vinegars, cookies etc all for sale here. And a good butchery too. Dogs on leashes are welcome!
The shop feels very authentic and lovely. I enjoyed the food and the staff.
Highly recommend stopping here. Especially for a quick road snack while travelling.
