We arrived here on a Sunday morning when the restaurant was closed because they were busy prepping for their lunch service. The owner stopped with what she was busy with and invited us in for breakfast. They prepared an amazing breakfast especially for us before taking us on a tour of the venue. I will most definitely plan all future road trips with this place in mind!

If you are in the Harrismith area on a Sunday this is the best "Boerekos" Sunday lunch you can get. Book to ensure you get a table and go and enjoy delicious food in a very laid back atmosphere. Trust me you won't walk out of there hungry ..... I am definitely visiting Smiley's again when I am in that area!

Smileys was a surprise. We were driving along a dirt road at the back of the moon, when we arrived at a small village which was little more than an auctioneers and a police station. It was a Sunday. We stopped for cooldrinks at the only garage in town, which was brightly festooned with vintage advertisements. Inside the shop were more old fashioned items and a full buffet for Sunday lunch. The locals were arriving in droves, clearly a popular choice. We enjoyed it very much.
