Caramba is the restaurant you didn’t know you needed until you visit. The owner and staff are all amazing.
Also, it really is authentic Portuguese cuisine with all its flavors and delicacies.
The location is nestled right on the strip close to the V&A waterfront with choices of inside or outside seating. They have a backup generator in preparation for load sharing as well so you won’t have to eat in the dark.
Highly recommend one of their authentic wines paired with their seafood dishes. You wing be disappointed.
We enjoyed our lunch at Caramba. The grilled sardines had a good texture and pretty fleshy. The chicken livers were delicious - it could've done with a bit more spice. Trinchado was tender and the sauce had a very mild chilli. Delicious fresh bread rolls to dunk in sauces. The Feijaoda - stew with beans , pork, chicken and chorizo was a fair portion size and also delicious. We enjoyed them Rock Shandy and they serve coke in a glass bottle. The meals are freshly prepared so you do wait a while. We managed to get free street parking.
We had the best time. The food was just brilliant, proper traditional Portuguese quisine.
The name says it all. I ordered a variety of dishes, chicken livers, chorizo, calamari and grilled chicken. When you use quality ingredients and prepare it with passion, it can only be fantastic. Great food and friendly host make it a memorable experience. I highly recommend Caramba and can’t wait to visit again when I visit Cape Town again.
We had such delicious food and wonderful service from the lovely waitress Dio, we came back a second night! Anna was welcoming and lots of fun. Definitely recommend a meal at Caramba!
Best Portuguese food in Cape Town, and quite comfortably so. When everybody in the joint is speaking the language then you know. Top class
Super lekka place! Family run. Exceptional service and food. I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND the savoury rice -best I've ever had. I also partial to their peri peri grilled calamari.
Simply first class, casual dining. Wonderful friendly service and authentic Portuguese food that is so delicious you feel like offering it to people on the street. What a gem!
One of my favourite places to eat. Owner operated and run. I’ve been many, many times and I always have a great experience.
Lovely experience of authentic Portuguese food and hospitality. This family run restaurant is on top of the list to visit. Vinho Verde and the Super Bock is on tap. What's not to love.
