Delicious Chinese food especially the spring rolls and noodles and all other food. Very good service and hard working people who serve. Just wish the restaurant could be bigger but otherwise fantastic.
Been here a few times, prefer to get a take away.
The renovations helped a bit with the ambiance but it still lacks something.
Service is average, language barriers and some rather unhappy looking waiters.
Usually order - salt and pepper prawns, Chilli chicken, duck and pancakes - love all 3.
The duck and pancakes is personal favourite but sometimes has too much fat!
Salt and pepper prawns - issue with consistency but when done properly - lovely
Really good authentic Chinese food with good atmosphere. Peking Duck outstanding. Real value for money and attentive service. Consistent and reliable good.
Really tasty good food. I am quite fussy with regards to Chinese cuisine specifically. Unfortunately there was no sweet and sour pork but the crispy pork made up for it. Sizzling beef, bamboo mushroom beef stir fry a winner. Chili fried pork was lovely as well. The cashew chicken was the least favourite but I found it tasty non the less. Our table shared and it was a fun and quite affordable meal before our show
We were meeting family for dinner before a movie and they suggested Lai Lai Garden. Like any Zomato foodie I checked the reviews and became nervous for my visit when I read all the bad reviews. To our surprise it wasn't bad at all. Service was quick, our orders were all correct and cooked well. We decided to order and share our dishes family style - we had the crispy beef, spicy chicken and spare ribs with garlic accompanied by egg fried rice. I did find that the price of meals were quite expensive for the casual family style meal you recieve and dessert options are very limited, but an overall good dining experience.
A casual family dinner is nice. They have Yum Cha as well now, reasonably priced for a place at a Casino. Restaurant has two rooms, so if you want privacy, book the rooms in advance. Food is above average. Try order the more traditional chinese food. Service is slow, definitely needs attention there.
Nice authentic Chinese food in a great ambience of Monte Casino. I trued pork dumpling, spicy chicken and pron stir fry rice. Everything was simply amazing and very tasty with minimal use of spices (spicy chicken was deep fried and but oily; sorry not so much fan of too oily food).
Go for- Authentic Chinese food, good surrounding ambience, to try something authentic Chinese menu
Don't go for- looking for too spicy and hot food :)
Lai Lai Garden has fried pork dumplings to die for. They are packed with flavour and crispy on the outside. My favourite thing on the menu. They also have a delicious prawn fried rice if you are looking for something simple.
Never had a bad meal at this Chinese restaurant in the heart of Monte. The fried Popsicles are delicious and the sweet sour dishes awesome. We are creatures of habit so that is the usual menu when visiting Lai Lai but I am sure all the dishes are awesome.
The pork dumplings were great. The service was mediocre but thank heavens the company was awesome. Had a good evening out. Overall one has an expectation of Chinese food and most of this gets measured by the local spot one gets a take away. It is sad that on some of the dishes I would have preferred the local take away. Overall a rather flat experience, and a night in with golden chopsticks might prove more rewarding.
