Red Cafe is a wonder little upstairs spot in Grahamstown where you get no frills no fuss good homemade fair. I love having tea and cake here just because the tea cups are so pretty. There is something relaxing about swirling milk into good tea. The prices are fair, the staff are quick and friendly and most of all the standard is consistent.
I like to settle for a toasted sandwich when I don't know what to eat. And this was a good choice //
Grahamstown foodies, we are all aware of how cute and great Red Cafe is. Those who aren't, should familiarize themselves. It has a book store / games board/ really great food. What more could anyone ask for from a cute cafe.
The food has a home made vibe to it, but still made better than you would do it. Really dope alternative fillings. And just a good time in your mouth.
The cafe is quite small, and intimate. Has a lovely outdoor balcony seating as well as a couple of chairs insides, so due to the intimacy, I would bring a special somebody here. It's an excuse to really get close to the other person, if you're in to that.
This is not in the photo, but they have the BEST milkshakes I've personally ever had, if you are here, do try yourself out.
Small towns are always so great because I feel they're as focused on giving you great eating experience as they are with giving you good food. Definitely my favourite in Grahamstown
2 years later and still missing Red Cafe's signature ooey gooey, sticky, perfect, dark chocolate cake. :( Perfect place for vegetarians, lots of great options.
On a cold rainy day in GHT, one looks for comfort food😊 With aiming at being an expert in #Grahamstown, I had to try something new 🙌🏼. The service was excellent , waiter was extremely friendly and obliging 🌟 I had the Mediterranean vegetarian #tramezzini (Inside was pesto, sundried tomatoes and melted feta cheese 😍😬). This was fresh and the taste was incredible. My friend had the #Ham&Cheese sandwich , which she said tasted exceptionally yum!👌🏼Well done Red Cafe' on your excellent service and delicious meals, your cozy environment makes us wana come back for more too✌🏼️👏🏽
This is a lovely spot when the weather is warm because of their deck. We went for a family breakfast and opted to sit outside in the sun. Our waiter was friendly. The meals did seem to come out a bit slowly, there was probably a 10 minute gap between the first plate coming out to the last one.
Other than that, we really enjoyed our breakfasts. We tried the avo, peanut butter and coffee shakes which were all pretty tasty. I had a hot chocolate which came with little marshmallows, it was lovely! We will definitely be back.
Had a lovely breakfast on their sunny deck. The peanut butter milkshake has been a firm favourite since my student days (and it's still just as tasty now years later). I had the breakfast wrap (bacon, egg and cheese) and was very happy with it. The hot chocolate was amazing and was even served with mini marshmallows!
