Review Italian Club Johannesburg - Germiston

Had a birthday party. Was a bit disappointing in that we were unable to set up in time for our event as the venue was still messed up from the night before. They didn't have table cloths for the cake & gift table. The food was great though.

A very nice place with very Italian feel. It has a festivd feel with a few parties being held and the festive feel is infectios. The food was very good , but there was a few things not available to order. Taken that it is the silly season I suppose it can be expected.

We attended the Alfa Romeo Club of South Africa's 50th Anniversary, hosted at The Italian Club. The event was very well catered, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was excellent.

Amazing place. Will be good for family with kids for a Sunday lunch. Italian all the way. Had our Vespa breakfast there and it was amazing.

Really awesome atmosphere but when they busy we felt almost forgotten about, we waited 30 mins for our bill and then another 15 to pay. Recommend pizza and not really the pasta. I really love the birthday song maybe play Italian music the whole time… just a thought. Otherwise it’s a must try place

Definitely a new favourite! Pizza and pasta dishes are incredible here. Atmosphere is really cool and it is child friendly. They even have an ice cream bar and the flavours are delicious!

Haven't been for a while. The food was delicious and the new decor in the restaurant is really awesome. Good family lunch at the club today, will be back soon.

Company fantastic. Found food to be kinda of average all though two guests at my table loved the ox tail. Mine cold.Had to look for my waiter all the time. Italian music playing would of been better that hip hop. But will go back

Was there yesterday for the first time ..venue nice...But no ramp for stroller/wheelchair inside..except outside restaurant. Staff just stand there looking..offer no help...even i think was a Manager. I had even to take chair out of the way so that I can go to side restaurant shop...while staff looking....Cool Drink can R20...really? Sorry STAFF needs training. No smiles/not help full....Was very disappointed...drove all the way from Pretoria

The Italian Club is a great place,I think management should however address this situation and keep and eye on this.It's not the club,it's a few of the people that go there that should learn some manners and etiquette. I have not been to the Italian club since last year 2015 and I see nothing has changed with regards to what we experienced again.Sunday 20th November 2016 , I had some visitors with me and we were very shocked and disgusted to see how some people from my own nation can be so rude and egotistical.There were people going behind the counter in the coffee shop area to go and get their own pastries and sweets from behind the counter ,using their hands,licking their fingers from touching the desserts or sweets and then still picking more as well as raising their voices at the African staff as if they were pieces of crap ,Also the pricing is very expensive .Really ,perhaps you should reserve the right to serve some of your guests.

Because there is not a zero, waiters are useless and food isn't good either, but has became more expensive than some other Italian restaurants, really crap.

Love all the pastas and pizzas I've eaten from here, and the ice cream is a great after soccer great for kids...but I see the menu is not up to date on the app.

Food not bad ( stay away from prawns, not tasty at all) and at reasonable price. Long tables and seats do not allow privacy and takes ambience away. Service improved from last time but still slow. Waiter took wrong order but quickly apologised.

After smelling the aroma's from the pizza oven while celebrating a mate's 50th dinner, decided to return for an authentic pizza and arrived to a market day with a chilled atmosphere. Was worried there might be a delay getting our food with the packed & hungry crowd but from order to serving, it took barely 15 mins... Started with a salad parmigiana for the table (no shortage of parmesan shavings), kids shared a pizza campagnola with tomatoes mozzarella onions & peppers, with me & the missus sharing a pizza vegetariana - thin crust wirh just the right amount of toppings - definitely one of the best we've had in a very long time. Will definitely be back to sample more from their menu.. Depending on space, will be indulging in some ice-cream from their gelato/espresso bar😉🍕🍦

This was my first visit to Il Terrazzo, housed within the Italian Club in Bedfordview. The dining area is not conducive to intimate dining, and the layout makes it feel like you’re having dinner in a school hall. Although spacious, the tables still feel a little cramped and the noise levels inside are quite high. The menu is typical Italian fare, and I opted for the Penne Bolognaise, while my wife had the seafood pasta and my daughter the lasagna. The service was fairly poor and although not overly busy, the waiting time seemed a little excessive. The bolognaise was a generous portion, but was too dry and lacking in flavor as was the lasagna. My wife’s pasta was adequate but also somewhat bland. The pricing, while not exorbitant, is a little steep given the lack of quality. To be fair, I believe they are best known for their pizzas, which did look good. Next time, I think I will try the pizza but I think it would definitely be a take-away.

Eventually left after not being served for 25 minutes. All the tables around us were complaining of the same thing. I see that there are 10 other reviews of which 9 complain about the lack of service. This is after not going to the place for nearly a year due to the poor service received previously. Lovely setting and good food can unfortunately not compensate for this consistently bad service.

They need to work on costumer service. The food standards are good but they do have there bad days. Service takes to long. Staff and manager need some training and this could be one of the better restaurants in Bedfordview.

Food is average and the service is shocking we cleared the table ourselves. It's sad that it used to be really good and now the establishment couldn't really be bothered.

Went to dinner on Friday night and although they were busy they fitted us in. Really great Italian food at reasonable prices considering its bedfordview. Had the beef mince ravioli with red sauce and it was very tasty and cooked well! Little bit loud on the outside patio but there is a nice ambience! Thumbs up!

On Friday night, I decided to treat my boyfriend to an early birthday dinner. Knowing what a huge rump lover he is, I had to find a place that had great rump for a reasonable price. I stumbled across this restaurant on Zomato and we agreed to give it a shot! <br/><br/>I had seen a few comments about service being slow. Although we had incredible service. <br/><br/>My boyfriend ordered 300g rump for under R100! According to him, it was the best rump he has ever eaten. So kudos to this restaurant for that. He's really picky when it comes to rump. <br/><br/>I had the spinach and ricotta cannelloni. Honestly, I've developed a new a new obsession with cannelloni. The pasta is homemade and you can taste it! The filling was perfect and the cheese wasn't overdone!<br/><br/>We ended our meal with three scoops of gelato. All were incredible. <br/><br/>This is a lovely spot for families!

Yes, the service is not great- so bring your flare gun to flag down service :[ But the food is generally pretty good, but don't expect over-the-top embellishments. However, it is a nice place to chill & grab some graze with couple of friends and hit a beer or two. There's a great steak special running on Thursday nights and the steak is well worth the wait. Not for the food snob but definitely for the social eater.

Went there once, waited an eternity to get food and I think after 2 hours got our pizza, so never went back. The service was extremely bad and I noticed if you a regular and know the chef you got your food quicker.

This past weekend was the long awaited annual Italian festival in Bedfordview and I found myself here! Think grappa, gnocchi, lasagne, lots of tomato, cheeses, espressos, limoncello, pizzas and last but certainly not least cannoli! <br/><br/>I would like to start with the fact that over the years I have been to Italy eight or so times and it is by far my favourite country and cuisine hands down. The Italian food culture is something to be marveled at.. Enjoying a meal with friends or family is the main ingredient of any Italian dish and they know how to prepare and eat good food! Another interesting point that I have learnt about the Italian food culture is its rich regional diversity and you can eat very different cuisines depending on where you are just within Italy itself.. <br/><br/>The Italian Club (ICJ) and Il Terrazzo did not disappoint on their authentically Italian food offerings and I thoroughly enjoyed my Italian food experience in Bedfordview! Their service does need a little help but if you are in the spirit of the fact that the slowness of course is something traditionally that all Italians enjoy, you wont be disappointed!

Had Sunday lunch here last weekend with a big table. Great value for money. Service is appalling at best, dire at worst and don't expect a quick meal. However, the delicious pastas, pizzas and chicken make up for it. Delicious beignets to wrap up our meal. Reservations necessary - Sunday's seem to get packed out.

Their pizzas are delicious. But I would definitely not recommend this as a place to have a dining experience. The staff are unfriendly and disappear for minutes on end. You shouldn't be expecting any great service here. Expect to wait a while for the pizzas. They often muddle up the pizza orders as I am aware there has been a communication issue between the kitchen and the pizza section for years now. I had the worst experience the last time I ate here. I won't go into detail. But I was disappointed because I really enjoy the pizza and I wish it was more vibey and inviting so that it felt more like a club. However, they offer great Sunday lunches for the members, which from my recollection was always very fulfilling and tasty. But if you're just looking for a quick bite to each somewhere new, I wouldn't recommend it.

Not impressed at all! Waiters not helpful, wearing stained and dirty shirt -off putting. Food came cold just thrown slapdash onto plate. Mushroom came out of a tin. Eggs were so undercooked the whites were runny. Only positive thing was portion size.
