Very great place to go with kids they have a garden so the kids can play around. Great service, the owners are very kind and helpful. Great food and superb deco of the cafe.

A beautiful restaurant in a leafy garden with space for kids to run. The food is delicious and we enjoyed the friendly vibe. The waiters are very helpful without being intrusive.

The venue is very pretty and the coffee was real good. However we found the food menu limiting and the one big annoyance that most food establishments have in Franschoek, they close at 3pm on a Saturday. So make sure you are willing to have lunch early.

We come regularly to the River Cafe because of its consistently great coffee. But it’s more than this - it’s the staff. From the amazing barrister (Castor - make sure you ask for him) to Ronald and his warmest of welcomes to Gavin and his friendly smile — and all the staff - you feel like you’re in a happy place. And you are. The staff here exude a love for their job which in itself tells you a lot about you his place. After recently completing my 10th Two Oceans ultra marathon in Cape Town Castor made me a 10 Flat White to celebrate. That’s the amazing attention (and coffee) you get here

Went for breakfast and was very impressed. I love good coffee and the double shot latté hit the spot. For food we both had the eggs benedict on English muffin that was excellent.

Very nice place with good food and average pricing. We are regulars here. Good place for cyclists.

Amazing food here, and good coffee too! Service is a little slow, but the trees and atmosphere are really nice. Servers were extremely polite and very helpful. There was a great bouncy house for the kids as well.
