Food is amazing, best creme brulee I had in my entire life anywhere in the world. Highly recommend the Springbok and the seafood risotto. Lovely ambiance. Lovely family business with real heart for the art of cooking and hosting.
Gestern hatten wir einen unfassbar schönen Abend bei Leo seiner Familie. Das Chalet ist wirklich ein absolutes "Muss" fuer alle, die Spaß an feiner Küche haben. Ganz abgesehen von der herzlichen Atmosphäre in dem wirklich kleinen Restaurant.

What a hidden gem of a restaurant. I went to Hermanus for a holiday and ended up in Sweden. Both the service and the food were top notch. Great South African twists to some European classics and some of the softest, melt in your mouth meat I've ever had.
Leo & his family cook the most amazing food. Definitely recomend them to everyone. My guests absolutely loved it.

The restaurant is located on the upper floor of this lovely, well kept building and can seat only around 20 guests, so booking a table is absolutely necessary.
We were welcomed by the owners, who are Marianne, Leo and their daughter Michi who took charge to spoil us from the moment we entered.
The attention to detail begins with many little items: a large table and very comfortable chairs, beautiful setting, a home made Limoncello offered as a welcome drink, home made bread with heavenly red wine onion butter........

The menu is small but very special: 4 appetizers, 4-5 main dishes and 4-5 desserts. Everyone of the dishes are awesome so we started with the feature home made Mozzarella with basil, tomatoes and olive oil - a must try appetizer!
We further had the crayfish cocktail - served in a not standard version - try it, you will agree!
The fresh mussels as a next dish and the ox cheeks were again an experience as living in heaven.
There is a small but excellent wine selection to choose from and we tried several of them which matched the chef Leo"s recommendation. By the way, the chef will come personally to the table and explain all the signature dishes and answers any questions you may have.
Then comes dessert, full belly already, because the portions are not small, but the irresistible dessert selection , which consisted of ginger and lavender ice cream and Creme Brulee and Panna Cotta and Melon sorbet and hazelnut crokant ice cream . All that served on a beautiful plate decorated in a professional manner.
I think Fisherhaven and surrounding have gained a superb restaurant with a great view and a lovely family to spoil you for your special lunch or dining experience.

One of the best Restaurants in the Western Cape, with food to die for. Definitely upmarket. Bookings essential.
Delightful location. Charming hosts. Food beautifully presented but crayfish and linefish slightly overcooked for our taste. House white wine OK but not the standard we expected based on our experience of other house wines in S Africa.
What an absolute gem. We were spoilt with 5 star meals all lovingly prepared by the chef.
