A really impressive experience. The service and staff are truly genuinely kind and sincere. The food was very tasty and plated with flair. I have a son that has Autism and they were so accommodating and made him feel so welcome. I am taking hubby for his bday next week. This has all the potential of being one of those hidden gems.
A cosy spot with attentative service. Honest quality food prepared without frills and very reasonably priced.
PS: The cuttlery is too small for the hands of an average SA male. It is a challenge to cut through sourdough with something you cannot get a propper grip on.
Delicious food, and very energetic chef! We had the trinchado Rump and 500g ribs using entertainer - rump was succulent and perfectly made to order and we're coming back for more of those ribs!
Cosy venue. Lovely caffeine brew. Waitrons are helpful, friendly & efficient. Even offered throws for the outside area when it got chilly.
Our starters of sliders (mini portions) & chicken livers were delicious & filling. My hubby ordered a surf & turf (4 prawns + steak..pictured) he claims was soft, succulent with a rosemary flavour.

The service here is simply excellent. We had a very attentive waitress and manager on duty. And because we brought in less than a full bottle of wine the corkage was waivered. Their food presentation is lovely, which they also reflect on an indoor screen, with visuals of some of their menu offerings. The ambience is warm with a small fireplace. The decor rustic & inviting. I loved their sliders!! Mini burgers for R35 with various toppings, beautifully stacked. They cater for about 30 people inside, with seating for roughly 20 in a small outside courtyard. Perfect for cocktails on a warm evening or during the day. We'll definitely go back! They're also a not for profit restaurant, donating their profits to communities in Durbanville. What a stunning concept!!
I'm pretty picky with steaks, most restaurants are disappointing in this department. Not The Village Bistro.
They got a perfect medium rare, it was well seasoned and the meat was tender, which is often not the case for a Sirloin.
Their burgers are also amazing. I recommend the cheese burger, medium rare. The onion rings are one of the best. Chips are okay.
Anything on the grill here is just perfect to be honest. Really great spot.
We used the entertainer app, they were great at helping us out as we are not very good entertainers. :-) Rump Trinchado Amazing and so we're the Ribs! Only criticism ...No Beer on Top. I will definitely be back! Hopefully to try their coffee and Beer next time.
Intimate and cozy ambiance with great service and tasty food. Trio of sliders (mini burgers) gives you the opportunity to try different options! Best milk shakes by far. I will definitely visit again.
