Went to go watch Shirley Valentine and it was delightful 😊 I was very impressed with the upkeep of the playhouse. Bathrooms were modern and clean. Memories were flooded back from years ago with my mother and I enjoying an evening of theatre. It was like nothing had changed. Hoping for more amazing shows to appear here again.
We went to the Lady Smith Black Mambazo Legacy show. It was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The theatre was clean and chairs were comfortable. The show was timeous and the theatre feel was great. Parking is on the street so you definitely have to arrive early to find a close to the door spot.
The theatre is looking great. The interior is still well maintained. It was a good experience.
We attended Joseph's and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. A brilliant musical.
The Playhouse ambience was great and the staff made us feel very welcome and looked after. Snacks and drinks, including coffees, were on sale before the performance and during intermission. Parking was close by, but the parking garage only takes cash. The pavement walking from the garage to the Playhouse was a bit uneven in places. We went to listen to the KZN Philharmonia Orchestra and it was a wonderful experience. Lovely to see such a variety of folk, including a school group, enjoying classical music.
Absolutely lovely place. It's amazing to see how they have manage to maintain it all these years. It looks amazing and right now with the Christmas decorations ( December 2022) it's extra lovely. I went to see a ballet production. Wow. I absolutely enjoyed my time here.

Such a wonderful artifact from years gone by. It's a privilege to visit this pristine, clean and wonderful venue and monument to theater. We definitely need to visit it more often when shows are on to keep the heart alive. Parking at the Royal Hotel is helpful, bit of a walk but seriously, we need to take in the culture of this kind of activity of visiting a theater more often
I always have an amazing time at the Playhouse. I watched "Shall We Dance" and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Took my mum and she was blown away... Amazing performance in a beautiful theater
