I haven't been to a buffet like this in ages after A2A at Sibaya.. Almost every dish was amazing.
Very well worth it.
I was looking forward to the prawns but it was average, maybe because I took from the first batch.. It didn't peel away from the Shell and was either over cooked or not very fresh.
Mutton curry and Butter chicken were very tasty, just a bit more spicy than we prefer.
Best Lamb Chops!!
Dessert.. Absolutely amazing, red velvet, cheesecake, brownie, ice cream.. There was a salted caramel cake with the softest sponge ever.
Chef's and Waiter's were delightful.
Soooo much variety and freshness.. We will definitely be back.
Celebrated my 15 wedding anniversary there. The food and service was great. Cool drinks were served fresh and cold. Prawns was delicious so was the roast beef. Great deserts especially the milk and pecan tarts. Chicken Tikka was very good with the naan bread. We spent more than 2.5 hrs. Bill was reasonable for 4 considering the variety.
It was my husband's birthday onTuesday. I'm so grateful for buffet options. Since we have a small baby preparing dinner was gonna be too much of an effort. He really enjoyed his food and bev.
Hands down the best buffet in Durban. Price currently 395pp. - totally worth the quality of food as well as the variety . Starting off at the curry stations ,you can find anything from chicken curry ,mutton curry, veg breyani, pickles to crispy popudums, warm toasty naan bread with tandoori chicken. The type of curry does change to mix things up every now and then. They move on to a variety of roasts ,chicken, beef and lamb , accompanied by a variety of gravies and roast potatoes and other veggies. Live stations include a stir fry stations, braai station and seafood station. Receive skewers of prawns smothered in peri peri or garlic sauce . Soft and flavourful 🦐. Calamari steaks and fish fillets also available. Soft drinks are included in the price and are even served by the jug-full
(coke , fanta sprite ). Salads are plentiful with a variety to choose from, including pasta salads and prawn cocktail. The dessert table is absolutely remarkable . A work of art with multiple cakes , mini cakes, and tarts ,cheese cake ice cream with toppings , malva pudding and so so much more. The atmosphere is kid friendly and family friendly. A great spot for special occasions. Everything is fresh and flavourful . An absolute delight 😊
Huge buffet offering lunch and dinner. Located inside Southern Sun Elangeni. Many options to choose from. Very meaty menu. Generic pasta, salads and curry vegetarian options offered.
I enjoyed what little vegetables that were on offer and my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed the meat curries and carvery. There's also a seafood stir fry area offering prawns and fish which was constantly busy. Tea and coffee are included in the buffet.
The washroom facilities are a little bit of a walk away from the restaurant but are still located within the hotel. The floors are highly polished so watch your step too.
Staff were super fast, friendly and helpful and were always around when needed.
One of the buffet I have been to, the range of food is amazing, the taste was perfect and the atmosphere just makes you feel like you still at home, for the price you pay, you get way more than you'd expect
I went here for my birthday and I must say the buffet is the best I have had in Durban. Normally in most buffets, with the dessert section and the food section, I find myself only liking a few selected dishes, but with the Lingela buffet, I enjoyed everything. Great food, great service and a great experience. Will highly recommend.
Buffet meals @ R410 pp - 08/09/23
Meat - Steak, Chops, Wors was done perfect, chef prepared it as you wanted it.
Sea food - prawns was over cooked every time.
Calamari steak was cooked perfect
Was told to wait 15 - 20 mins for it to be cooked
The sauces to go with meat plates where tasty, the mushroom sauce was the best.
Salads - prawn, lamb and mussels were tasty.
Desert variety were tasty.
Overall the variety and quality of foods were top notch. Only downfall is that the tables were to close and cramped which made moving around abit inconvenient.
A lovely experience and tasty food. Clean and covid guidelines were followed. If you're not in your seat you wear your mask.
The food was absolutely delicious and well presented, good layout of the buffet area.Chefs always interact with guests, querying how can they improve on the menu and did you enjoy the food, which is awesome.Thumbs up to Lingela Restaurant.
