Food and service was really great. If you ever going to order the platter for 2, it's so much food. That's a platter for 4 people, the gray fish was a bit soggy but the prawns was so fresh and the Cape Salmon fish was the best I've ever had, not even speaking about the amazing white wine mussel sauce. If your looking for fresh fresh seafood, fish on Florida is the place to go...
Amazing experience last night at Fish on Florida! Real gem of a place, love the quirky dining tables :P The fish was incredible and even their chicken masala curry was amazing! (There's always that one rebel in the party who'll go to a seafood joint and order chicken) Thanks to my friends for the recommendation, I'll definitely pass it along. The manager and our waitress Patience were very attentive and took great care of us. Fish on Florida, you're now top of my list! Major thumbs up
I recently visited South Africa for the first time, and Fish on Florida will be among my most fond memories of Durban city. From the outside, the restaurant has a very relaxed and aesthetic look to it, which is bound to make you want to step in. Their menu is quite extensive and manages to cover a bunch of cuisines. We had the chicken and prawn masala, which came with steamed rice, and felt a lot like the African adaptation of the famous Indian Malvani prawn curry. The standout item was the grilled hake with lemon and fries, which came with large juicy portions, adequately buttered and cooked to perfection. Their staff was very courteous, polite, and pleasant to talk to. One of the waitresses was kind enough to help us plan our day, besides giving tips for general safety in the city. Big thumbs to this beautiful little joint, all the way from North India!
Small beach style venue with a bar, best peri peri livers, request the chef to make it extra spicy !, great restaurant for Seafood, fairly well sized meals... service is on point, booking maybe necessary as seating is limited.
I had the mussels. The sauce was heavenly. The mussels themelves were geriatric. Yes they were fresh from the sea, but very chewy and stringy. Then came the main course, grilled kingklip. Well, that was disastrous. I did have to send that back; and the second try was excellent.
Why am I still giving this place a 4? The flavors were awesome and the staff was very friendly and conscientious. It was quite funny actually explaining to my waitress as to what I meant when I said the fish was too wet and I wanted it to be white and flaky. Very nice atmosphere.
Great food and excellent service. My wife and I had a platter for two and it was to die for. Definitely coming back to try more items on the menu.
