An old favorite in dullstroom. No fuss old school pub menu. Burger was tasty and well cooked. Their pot pies are a winner. The curry pot pie was filled with lots of soft tender meat.
Always a gud spot for drinks and chow.
Food was delicious, from pot pie, to burgers, to ribs, to chicken ! Service was a bit slow seeing that the restaurant wasn't even busy. I loved the pub feeling. I was a bit disappointed by the pot pie, pay a lot of money for something that doesn't really stand out from the rest of the menu. Would definitely visit again.
The food was lovely. ...had chicken livers and a chicken and mushroom pot pie OMW that was awesome...staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.
Nice bar!
Loved their baskets! Good service, nice vibe
Very busy sometimes over weekends, when there’s big rugby.
Nice stop for a kuier with mates!

We went to Poachers fir drinks and had a quite nice experience.
They have Guinness on tap! Wow! And a seperate non-smoking area.
Unfortunately you have to walk through the smoking area to get there.
The service was quite good. Worth a visit.
Great pub, had a great evening. Waiters are so friendly and helpful. Great vibe, fire place, great music. We had the pot pie which was delicious. Snails starter and crumbed mushrooms. Starters were not great. Fantastic shooter menu. Definitely be going back
This is a nice pub and grill venue with a very colourful menu. The service is quick during the day and the vibe given makes you want to stay through till the parties in the evening. It is well priced and a nice family restaurant.
The busiest pub in this small awesome town. Great pub food though. Cold beer and loads of space outside for when the city folk take up all the space inside. Burgers here are really good. Just watch out during the day to not get hooked by the people practicing casting at the fishing shop next door. Its really good to watch games during the weekends when you are in the area. A must visit during your stay.
I am going to start with the fact that if it's fine dining that you're after, I don't recommend this as your destination of choice. The Poacher is what it is.. A local pub in Dullstroom, serving beer and typical pub fare with a special character all of its own.
On a Saturday, the rugby is on, there is live music in the corner and the cold beer perfectly compliments their generous pot pies! I was also incredibly impressed with my cauliflower and blue cheese soup.
I also loved that there were little dogs wandering around happily while their owners enjoyed lunch and the staff looked after them all happily.
*Recommendation: We loved our evening here and enjoyed the fun and relaxed pub vibe with a group of friends.

We came here one evening to watch the rugby, it has a very festive and cosy vibe around the bar area. If you want to eat during one of these type evenings, you are unlikely to get a table in this area and therefore need to move to their "dining" area. This area has very little atmosphere but there were at least a TV to watch the game on while we ordered our food. The service was a little slow but they were very busy. We all ordered an assortment of typical pub food, all of it was lovely. I wouldn't recommend getting the house white wine, it wasn't very enjoyable. It is well priced and definitely worth going to if you want to watch rugby in a festive setting!
What a lovely spot! We were in Dullstroom for the day and chose The Poacher for brunch/lunch. The entertainment was fantastic and there was a great vibe. Beers were cold and the food was awesome. I had the Guinness pie and my wife had the fillet pasta. Very generous portions and very tasty. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised to find good food. I always just thought of The Poacher as just a pub because we always sit outside and just have few drinks with snacks and listen to the musicians. On this evening we came for real food. Everyone's food was nicely presented, very palatable. Guess that is where the 'and Restaurant ' comes in.
Great place to go to for a quick lunch and the food was affordable with generous portions. The seating in the outside area can be a bit noisy, but inside it is cosy and comfortable. The chips (fries) was a bit too oily for our liking, but all in all a very pleasant meal and experience.
Did not eat there, cannot comment on the food.
Went to watch the Soccer WC final. The screens were inside the bar area which was a little dingy and had a lot of smoke inside. Was good enough to watch the soccer.
Post the match they had live music - Anton Botha, freak he was awesome and outside was a party! Very talented musician! Nice vibe! The entertainment value of the venue depends on the crowd and artists.
Service I must say was really good, waitresses were always around checking in on us, alcohol was reasonably priced.
We had one of the best breakfasts we've had in a long time here! They were also very welcoming to our dog.
Best Burger patty I’ve had in a long time. Super soft, tasty and juicy. The chips were also great. Friendly barman and waitress. Felt very welcome. Thanks 🙏
We had a great time. Food and beer excellent
Situated at the heart of Dullstroom, The Poacher Pub & Restaurant combines indoor and outdoor sitting to make a weekend brunch worth it. The behavior of the staff is wonderful and the ambiance is very relaxing. The indoor pub looks like a sports pub and makes a soccer night memorable. Worth a 2nd visit.
Well prepared food at reasonable prices. Good service.
