Its a popular central shopping centre with plenty of coffee shops delis and other essential eateries including The Mug & Bean The Cattle Barron an Indian as well as an Italian restaurant.
Great shops a liquor store and a large petrol station make this place an essential local stop off for Constantia and environs.

Conveniently located in the village. Unfortunately the food prices here have increased but when in the area I like to stop by for a smoothie. They have a good selection and the ones I've tried were fruity and fresh.
This is the most convenient Kauai for me as I usually do my grocery shopping at the village so will grab something on the go. I usually stick to my favourite smoothies, but the menu has once again been updated so decided to try one of the new ones. The Wholefood Blush looked interesting with the unusual combination of carrot and strawberries, but it was surprisingly delicious with the hint of flavours with each sip.

I tend to stay away from Kauai these days as the prices seemed to have sky-rocketed over the last year or so. A wrap that initially cost me R30 is now R70. Very sad indeed but i still go for the smoothies which are always great.
Now that Kauai is in partnership with discovery Vitality I can get my weekly smoothie fix just for achieving my fitness goals. Had the mango coco smoothie which I found refreshing and slightly tart but very enjoyable. Payment was easy- they just scanned my vitality rewards barcode and viola, left in no time with my takeaway.
The staff were really friendly, they even reminded me to use my smoothie card and told me all about the Kauai App and how it would benefit me! The food is always great, especially when I'm on the move!
Delicious new menu! I tried the coconut smoothie before shopping for the month. Great, fast service and perfect for a quick morning snack! It's one of their halaal stores, I would highly recommend the mango coco smoothie when visiting.
This is definitely the best Kauai I know of! I've been to the Claremont one (in Virgin active) and other branches in Johannesburg, but this one has the nicest ladies behind the counter! They're also super quick with orders, and the food is good ! That is, for Kauai standards. At the end of the day, one has to be realistic - Kauai is a 'healthy' establishment. They're never gonna match the Butter chicken from Bihari, it's just not going to happen. But what they do well, is to make do with the menu they have!
So if looking for a healthy meal and quick service you can look no further!:) also, their smoothies are the yummiest (on that note: don't try Claremont Virgin active smoothies - they are baaaaad).
By far, the most guilt-free take-out!!! It's quick, healthy and refreshing! Perfect on the way to work, during work or after work for dinner! #saynotomcdonalds!
A great Kauai franchise in the middle of Constantia Village, right outside Pick n Pay. There's enough comfortable seating to grab a quick bite, check emails on the WiFi, etc.
Absolutely enjoyed my time here. It was a week day so the atmosphere was very calm. The staff welcomed us with such warm smiles. The restaurant is very clean and cousy. Compliments to the chef because oh my soul the food was so delicious and well prepared and presented. Although it is in a fairly busy old village, once inside you forget about it. Thank you for the wonderful service 👌🏽

Came here for a work dinner. The staff were very helpful and our waiter was professional. We ordered a lot of food and even with the big order our food came out quite fast. The food itself was cooked to perfection. Good atmosphere too.
This was a great experience. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, the food was excellent and the service, superb.
They have a secret to attracting customers to themselves, rather than to the restaurant down the way, but this secret may never be shared...
A lovely, comfortable atmosphere on upholstered seats afforded us a much deserved rest after our Table mountain hike.
We'll definitely be returning to Cattle Baron, Constantia, in the near future.

We always enjoy their sirloin steak, alway cooked to perfection. The last time we were there it was load shedding so the vegetables were not as hot as I would have liked. It's great because they don't charge corkage
The food here is always a winner. I usually order for take out but today decided to dine in. The service was a little slow to start but picked up quite well and our server was friendly. The wine selection is also excellent. I always opt for any kind of steak but the beef ribs are great, too. I had the beef escargot and it was perfection. My friend tried the pork belly and she enjoyed it but said the skin was a bit too crispy for her liking. Portion sizes are large so great for a hearty meal on a cold day.
VERY nice food, also good for kids and adults as some stuff is as simple as a burger or as fancy as escargot. Cattle baron never disappoints for a good meal and is my personal go to if I have no plans for food personally a 5/5
If you want a great steak, amazing service in a wonderful setting - then this is a must visit
