Review Ottawa Spur Steak Ranch - Claremont

During our visit to Ottawa Spur Steak Ranch in Claremont for my daughter's birthday, we were pleasantly surprised when the staff went the extra mile to make her day truly special. As a delightful addition to the celebration, the staff sang a cheerful birthday song for her, creating a festive and memorable moment. While the celebratory aspects of our experience were praiseworthy, it's important to note that the overall service had some areas that could benefit from improvement. While the staff demonstrated friendliness and a willingness to make the celebration memorable, there were instances where the service felt slightly slow. Promptness in attending to our requests, particularly during peak hours, would enhance the overall dining experience. Although the staff was accommodating, a more efficient service delivery could contribute to an even more positive impression. In the spirit of constructive feedback, a suggestion for improvement would be to streamline the service process to ensure a seamless flow, especially during busy times. This would not only elevate customer satisfaction but also enhance the overall dining experience at Spur in Claremont. Despite this constructive criticism, the birthday celebration, with the singing and festive atmosphere, made a lasting impression. With a few refinements to the service delivery, Spur has the potential to offer an even more exceptional dining experience for families and celebratory occasions.

Ottawa Spur seems almost forgotten in Cavendish on the other side of the food court where everyone hangs out. But make no mistake, it’s still a popular venue and attracts a loyal crowd. It’s easy to see why: The food was well-prepared and tasty, portion sizes are respectable and service was good, though a bit rushed, given that the place was pretty full and staff were working under pressure. As with most Spurs, there’s a place for young children to play, and it’s good to see that they have cameras so that parents can also keep an eye on the little ones. It’s a little bit narrow to navigate with a wheelchair, but there’s ample seating available for wheelchair users. There’s no outside seating because it’s in a mall.

I come to this Spur very often. The food is ALWAYS delicious, I haven't had any complaints about the food. The waiters are very friendly. 5 out of 5 stars for this place, I've had no issues. Excellent service. My favorite is the Ribs, yummy yummy.

The Spur group knows how to create the same food. You definitely know what you will get. It is not a Michelin star food. However, it is good quality food. The kids love the food and keep asking to go back. It is a place for families. So if your kids are hungry, take them to a Spur. Enough options for adults to have a decent meal. Price wise, it is value for money . Recommend you try the baked potatoes. The new lemon and herbs chicken breast has a tiny byte to it. Had a great service experience at this Spur.

Love the ambience and vibe here (particularly during the day when its quiet). My partner and I ordered burgers and chips. I ordered a single patty beef burger. The patty was quite dry on inside and burnt on the outside. The chips and onion rings were amazing as usual! My partner had the double patty cheese beef burger. His stacked patties looked tiny compared to my single patty (not sure if that's how it's supposed to be but that's what's to expect). Our waitress was lovely though and gave us great service!

Service was great. Young man, Leah, was showing and did well. Food out quickly and hot and very nice. Had chilli sauce Hunga Busta & half portion chicken schnitzel. Good value for money. Thank you Ottawa Spur

What a bad experience at a Spur by far... We arrived and waiter took our orders but we waited forever for our food to arrive (almost 45 minutes) in a not so packed restaurant. When our steaks eventually arrived it was charded and dead instead of being a medium. Presentation was shabby with no garnish like lettuce and tomatoes, my steak was a cheddarmelted one but how disgusting...sauce was floury with hardly any mushrooms and cheese could barely cover the steak looked like half a slice, onion rings were over crispy colour was very dark nearly burnt, chips were so dry and therefore didn't finish even though I ordered a baked potato. Not enough cutlery and sauces on the table. Eventually when waiters arrived to ask if food was ok we had already finished and was in no space to complain as we were so hungry. Coming from the Hospitality industry and know what staff do when u complain??? As a regular customer, I was very appalled by overall experience and will definately not be back...Has Spur's quality and quantity downgraded that much???

You will not be seeing us again!!!!! Bad service two visits in a row. The first time me and my boyfriend waited very long for our food, the excuse was that the wings were stil frozen, while other people that came in after us ate before us. Last night my steak was bloody rare I had to send it back. My boyfriends rib and wings was swimming in the basting he had to scoop it in the side plate with the fork. It was terrible. We are very disappointed in your poor service Ottawa.

Yesterday was a bad service with almost 45min waiting for the order let alone the Waiter didn't give us the bill himself we were assisted by another waiter which he had to hear us complaining about the service of the previous waiter. Even though it's the special that had waiters under pressure with lot of people but communication from the waiter would have been much appreciated.

Honestly I enjoyed my self there ,the food was so tasty and juicy , My Waiter Steven gave me the best service ever ,he knows wat his doing I ended up drinking more Wine glasses no doubt I'll cum again

The service was great yesterday. The waiter went out of he's way with our "out of the ordinary" requests and he never disappointed us once. Food was served very fast and everything was perfect. That was just before the rush of R50 special.

Was there yesterday,I know it was busy,but my daughter's burger came before mine,waited 10 min to get my food,Neva saw the waitress again,didn't check up on us,didn't even offer us anything else,Nd on top of it,couldn't claimed my vouchers,cos the internet was down,had to call the manager,cos the waitress didn't even take my card number down,so they can swipe it,not a happy customer at all.

Had a bad experience two weeks ago... food was sent back twice.. first for burnt burger and then.for a bay leave found on the plate.

Service was good and the waitress was friendly. There is room for improvement, the could be excellent.

Ordered cheese burger stacked and strawberry milk shake. Food was delivered in less than 10min. The food and service great!
