Been going there for 40 years. The best restaurant.Never ever had a bad meal. The best fillet peppered steaks.highly recommended.
Great cosy little spot to chill with friends, can be a bit pricey but worth the stop. steaks cooked perfectly and awesome friendly service.
Thanks Brad and team!
A real Cape Town institution. It was great hearing stories from my parents who visited here 20 years ago when I mentioned having gone there recently. I ordered the signature pepper fillet with chips, which was amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was definitely not the packet variety. To be honest, it does look a little run down inside but if you can look past that, you're in for a treat.
I had such a pleasant meal at Brad’s grill on Friday night. The vibe there definitely makes you want to stay longer as the staff are all very friendly and so is the owner. The meat is all fresh and not frozen. We ordered 6 steaks amongst 6 people and they were all cooked exactly how we wanted them and the meal was completed with the perfect créme brûlée.
Some of the best steak I have had, especially for Cape Town. The pepper fillet is unmatched! The starters, the service, the host and everything else was just brilliant- especially for a supper with the boys. A little noisy for romance but the food will make up for that!
Service and food is amazing .I love the pepper sauce steak .
The avo and prawn starter is always a winner too.
Steaks always cooked to perfection .
Love brads
Amazing!!! This is easy a great spot for date night Jonathan Thomas The welcoming was warm and friendly. They gave us enough time to settle in and chat. The fact tyat they have our fave beer on tap is a win. Fiance had the wings and he enjoyed it!!! Presentation is standard and the food taste great. Brad recommended the Rib-eye and oh boy!!!! It did not disappoint! It is the best steak I have ever had... Soft, juicy and well matured a definite for any date night!!!
If this restaurant were to score negative points, it'd probably just be for the ambience and for the patronizing owner, Brad. While some may find it comforting, it can get very irritating and especially how condescending he is towards women in there.
Keeping the food in mind, it was A rate.
The chicken wings in a tomato marination were divine, the pepper steak with its creamy pepper sauce was delicious. You hardly ever get such a nicely marinated steak with a delicious creamy sauce. So thumbs up for the food!
So everybody knows Brads who last year celebrated 40 years which is certainly amazing. Our friends go often but we haven't been since the late 80s! The reception and service is excellent with Brad around all the time to make sure things run smoothly. Michele had the chicken schnitzel and said it was tasty and the outer pieces were good but the centre was a bit dry. She thought a nice cheese sauce may have improved the dish. Ian had the fillet and said is was amazing. The other three of us had rump and 2/3 loved it. Mine was the large rump and quite honestly it was disappointing. It was tough with lots of sinew and quite hard to eat. I probably should have complained but was trying to be polite. I did leave a large piece so maybe they got the message? The cheese cake was really good and the onion rings were also amazing. The apple crumble was also pretty good. All in all a pleasant evening but not sure I'll rush back!
I wrote this review already but I feel they delete themselves?
I visited brads last week after several years. I started to going to brads almost 10 years ago with my dad. He took us for a steak and creme brûlée special. I recalled it being amazing so I decided to visit again after hearing that they were still halal friendly (at stage they weren't I think). I enjoyed their steak and creme brûlée again. It was lovely, worth it too bc it was a special again! I'll definitely return
Brad's Grill is an institution. They have been around for over 40 years. The food is high quality. Really really delicious. The Chicken wings are ridiculously good (sticky, sweet, a little spicy) and cooked to perfection. The steak is always top notch. Excellent cuts, grilled to your liking. Juicy, tender, melt in your mouth meat. Would recommend the fillet or Ribeye. You receive complimentary veg (butternut and spinach) with all steaks. The butternut is sweet and moreish. You also get a choice of starch - between chips, mash and/or a baked potato. The chips are real hand cut chips (not freezer bought) which speaks to the high quality Brad's aims to deliver. The sauces you can order with the steaks are homemade and very tasty. Would recommend the pepper sauce. Calamari is fresh and tender (it can be a bit rich as it's deep fried, so it is good as a starter or to share with friends). I am VERY very sad to report that they no longer offer pork spare ribs (this is a real tragedy as they used to make them and they were unbelievably good). They now only offer beef ribs. The beef ribs were nice (but they don't come close to the previous pork ribs that Brad's used make). I used to eat at Brad's at least twice a month just for those pork ribs. Sigh. All in all though - a great meal. Service is good. Welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend Brad's Grill!
