I took the tour for 'Vin de Constance' at cost of 1000 rand. It was private tour guided by Victor, who explained me everything about the wine and winery. Tasting includes 3 vintages (2013, 2015 & 2020) with a piece of chocolate and glass of water. It was all right, worth doing as you are in Constantia, but I would say it could have been more special if there is finger food and tour in the vineyard.
Amazing afternoon wine tasting. Such a beautiful vineyard with such amazing history. The tasting room was stunning with heaters and blankets for those who need it during winter time, as the building can be quite cold. Exquisite wines with such variety in flavor.
Trying to rate the bistro, but it’s hard to do so. Anyway, the experience I had at Klein Constantia’s bistro was great. Each dish was good and I had a taste of everything that was on the menu except for the vegetarian tart and fish of the day. The staff is very welcoming and love that they accept walk ins!
Fantastic wine tasting, some delicious wines from an iconic estate and finished with the delectable Vin De Constance.
Very relaxing wine tasting. Delicious wines and well-informed serving staff.
An outstanding wine tasting and lunch. Our favourite lunch in our time in SA and wine tasting was exceptional.
A stunning wine estate and one of the oldest in South Africa, Klein Constantia is steeped in rich history. We did the standard wine tasting and the setting was elegant and tranquil. Perhaps we were there on a quiet day but it did not have the hustle and bustle of some of the other wine estates I have visited in the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch areas. This estate produces mainly white, with their signature being the renowned sweet ‘Vin de Constance’ from a Muscat de Frontignan cultivar. It is a pity that the bistro kitchen closes at 3pm as we were unable to try the food after having done our wine tasting in the early afternoon.
The drive up is gorgeous, and the estate is beautiful. It's not a place where you walk around and explore a whole lot, in fact I believe most of the vineyard is closed off. That's not why you're there though. Five wine standard tasting for R100, eight wine premium for R200 (hint, go for the premium). Luke was the main one helping me, and was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The other staff was no different. Reservations for the wine tasting weren't required (I was a walk in, but I was also solo). Wines were all really, really good. Highly recommend a visit, it's not too far from the Cape Town CBD (I took an Uber both there and back).
They make the most amazing wines. You are greeted onto the wine estate with lush green plantation. Well kept flowerbeds picture perfect views. The Bistro at Klein Constantia is situated right next to the tasting room. Great new addition to the Klein Constantia Team. They offer a 5 wine tasting which ends of with one of the most amazing desert wines known as such for centuries @vindeconstance. You can also choose the 9 wine tasting for the more adventurous where they start you off with some bubbles. You can request a cellar tour where you are taken on a rich cultural history which will make the wines taste even better knowing how they came about. The hostesses are knowledgeable but could be a little warmer in there approach. You can also arrange for a farm tour and picnic at the dam with amazing views. Well worth a try any day of the week.
We had an amazing Sunday afternoon lunch in the beautiful garden setting at your establishment. Great service from the moment we entered to being served very attentively by Neville. The food and wine was of the highest quality and well presented. The fillet was the best we had in a long time.
