Review Salsify At The Roundhouse - Cape Town

5 stars don't even make it justice. What an absolutely wonderful meal and experience we had. Outstanding food and ingredients - a true treat. If you want to make it even better, try their smashing wine pairing... delicious! The service itself is from out of this world - we were assisted by Ethan and Sid who were wonderful - just like the rest of staff. Still dreaming about it and honestly, can not recommend enough. A MUST when in Cape Town, for sure.

What an incredible restaurant from the moment you arrive you are welcomed by the friendly staff who escort you to your table that has the most beautiful views. The food is next level and complimented with an exceptional wine selection. This is definitely my new favourite restaurant and will be returning soon.

Visited Salsify during our stay in Cape Town and we were so impressed!! The food was incredible, the whole experience was magical. Service was excellent (shout out to Ethan) and loved all the details throughout the dinner (i.e. you’re given the kitchen docket for you order at the end of your dinner which was such a nice touch!) The kitchen caters for vegetarians as well and were very careful to ask about any dietary restrictions.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Salsify in Cape Town, and I must say, it was an extraordinary culinary experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant until the very last bite, everything about Salsify was impeccable. The service at Salsify was impeccable. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, ensuring that every need was met without being intrusive. From the moment I was seated, I felt like a valued guest, and the knowledge and passion demonstrated by the waitstaff elevated the experience even further. They were always ready to provide recommendations and answer any questions, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable afternoon. Salsify's menu is a work of art, showcasing a fusion of flavors and innovative culinary techniques. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with unique combinations of ingredients. Salsify is a culinary gem that deserves every bit of its five-star reputation. From the stunning ambiance to the flawless service and, most importantly, the extraordinary food, every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. I would highly recommend Salsify to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary journey in Cape Town. I will. Definitely be back!!!!

Beautiful restaurant with an amazing tasting menu ! Wonderful service from start to end. Felt very personal and loved the art throughout. So many small beautiful touches ( even the knives were art !) highly recommended.

I must express my sheer delight at the incredible experience I had recently. Without a doubt, it ranks among the best dining experiences of my life. I had the privilege of savoring the tasting menu, expertly paired with exquisite wines. Every course was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to tantalize the senses. The flavors, presentation, and attention to detail were truly extraordinary. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to everyone. However, be sure to book in advance, as this is an opportunity not to be missed and tends to be in high demand.

Certainly one of the top rated specialty restaurants available in Cape Town at the moment. Top quality table service staff, meal presentation and explanation by kitchen specialists and waiter staff. 10 course Chefs menu available or a reduced option menu for a slightly less adventurous eater. Food exquisitely presented and the care and passion of the “taster” portions are a feast to the eye and the palette!!!

Oh la la. What to say? My favorite fine dining restaurant in Cape Town. The building itself is pretty enchanting, an old heritage round-house with the old Cape Dutch windows looking over Camps Bay. Then the food is so delicate, so precise, so beautiful (literally, the plating is 10/10 with the mini pop-corn and mini-mushroom as decor). You can either pick a reduced menu or the whole experience. Did both and both are super satisfying. Their bubbly is crispy cold, the melted butter with brioche bread and everything else is perfect. I think I went 5 times already and looking forward to more !! Do yourself a favor and visit them.

This is a wonderful, upmarket restaurant. It's very difficult to get a table but after a couple of amuse bouches, we got moved from the inner part of the restaurant to the main dining area. It's quite a small restaurant hence the difficulty in booking. We went for the full chefs menu at Rand 1550 with seven courses. We didn't have the wine option which cost about the same again. The courses were small but absolutely amazing. The mixes of flavours and textures were terrific. The service was a bit and miss. They kept forgetting things and we seemed to have many different waiters throughout the meal. A mandatory service charge of 12.5% was added to the bill.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Salsify and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. We were treated like gold and the food, service, atmosphere and caterers were outstanding. We even received a cute memorabilia of our anniversary and experience here with a Polaroid picture and a sweet message alongside it. They were so helpful and sweet. Will definitely come back again many more times!

As always, we enjoyed an extraordinary evening. Everything was exceptional & the small things do make a difference! The poached langoustines 🍤 with truffles are absolute perfection. The staff are all warm, friendly & we could definitely see why Victor received the EatOut award for best wine service 🥂 Thank you Salsify - we will be back!

Wow!! So very impressed with our experience at Salsify. We made a booking for restaurant week, admittedly not being familiar with the restaurant but based on their appealing menu. It was just fantastic. Each course was beautifully balanced interms of flavours & textures. We chose the wine pairing which was very good value for money. Their wine list is interesting and vast but very pricey. Service is excellent and attentive.

Finally I can say that restaurant with a claim to haute cuisine and really delicious food is detected! Great cocktail, each dish was memorable and i want to come back for it. Especially meat and crayfish were awesome. Ask them for table outside, as inside is too strong smell from kitchen of neighbours restaurant

My eyes deceived me as we sat down for lunch overlooking the beautiful 12 apostles, but I couldn’t have anticipated what was to come next. The finest food, wine and (most importantly) service was absolutely out of this world. Special mention to Sid and Ethan, the latter of whom was a world of food and wine knowledge which really boosted our experience. A must-visit experience, we cannot wait to return!

An absolute treat. Exceptionally well balanced and refined tasting experience - every meal well crafted and presented with such finesse. Cannot fault a single dish on an 8 course menu. Very few can accomplish such impressive flavour profiles without the meals being sickly rich.

Booked in for a lunch and had the reduced menu. Every dish was a delightful experience and tasted wonderful. My favourite was the poached languostine with potato emulsion and truffle. Wished the portion was bigger for this 😄

Beautiful restaurant, very classy. The staff are exceptional, the chefs were top class. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the 5 course menu and every dish was perfect. I really have to stress again how good the staff and waiters are. Getting to the restaurant was a bit of a challenge with that sharp bend turn in the night and parking is limited but it’s totally worth it. We are looking forward to try more of what the place has to offer such as their outdoor seating The Lawns and more. Thank you for a good time we enjoyed ourselves
