Had a delightful High Tea (R165 pp). Beautiful venue, attentive and friendly staff, delicious selection of sweet and savoury treats to eat. The tea has room for improvement as it was not an enjoyable strong blend of ceylon tea. Other than that, it was worth it. Spectacular views and delightful drive to Houtbay was a bonus. Well worth a visit to Houtbay Manor.
The food is far above average. Fresh and tasty; the service is highly professional and staff are friendly & helpful. Ordered the vegetarian ciabatta and fries, and a bespoke burger request. Presentation good with little hints of the hotel's African decor theme pulled into the skewers. The food was outstanding. 👌
Hubby and I had dinner here. Absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend. Lovely decor, clean and tidy. Our waitress Nolly took great care of us. We had the gnocchi and the steak for mains, really worth the price and definitely a memorable meal! We loved the background music and calmness of the restaurant!
Love this restaurant. It's such a treat to be in such beauty. Food is always lovely, just as the service is usually rather slow. But who cares, when you are having a lazy lunch? What I did find disconcerting was that my main was brought while I was still busy with my starter. Quite unacceptable, but I stupidly did not object, so I rushed my starter and had luke warm food. Lesson learned........Scones were great, as was coffee. One of my fave places. Need to put a banister up the stairs.

The duck was divine, huge portion without salad or carbs. I wasn’t hungry but if I was I’d have had space for a starter and dessert. Great wine list by the glass!!
Waiting staff are friendly but service is not great, they often seem to be understaffed. So I arrive with a languid, leisurely attitude and the surroundings are conducive to this.

We had a family visiting and she was staying over In Hout Bay. Glad we decided on Eat. Secure parking in the gated estate. The setting is very pretty and we would certainly come back for a summer lunch at the pool. We were a group of 7 and we all enjoyed our dishes and the restaurant was quiet so we could chat without shouting above loud music. Dishes we had Madras Lamb, Mkhani Chicken Curry, Massaman chicken curry, Umbrian chicken, Phad Thai - chicken, Tom Yum Soup, Angry Duck. Desert - Chocolate Fondant, Malva.
My absolute favourite restaurant. The Eat Restaurant at the Manor is our go-to restaurant in Hout Bay, with excellent service, spectacular food and a wonderful ambience. I am relatively particular and a little fussy - so believe that your expectations will be met!
Staff were attentive, food was delicious! Options of Asian meals and burgers, fish, pasta. Cocktails were also sublime. Gorgeous setting! Couldn't ask for more.
Great restaurant with very good Asian dishes. Service is friendly as well.
