The best paneer I have ever eaten. I was introduced to kofta balls which I have never eaten in other Indian restuarents in South Africa. It is a small Hare Krishna vegetarian cafe.
Super yum vegetarian and vegan food! Found this place kinda by accident and soooo glad we did. Plain and simple decor with a chilled and friendly vibe. Hare Krishna.
Pure Vegetarian with no onion or garlic. But, very delighful & delicious. atmosphere is peaceful with lively conversation. location is behind Library
First time at a vegan restaurant and it is delicious. On recommendation from a friend. It is really humble and homely. Good food! Well priced and huge portions.
Have come here both for lunch and for dinner, multiple times after doing Yoga at ISKON. Amazing vegan food. Whatever I have eaten there, I have been incredibly happy with it. Definitely worth going, if you have not before.
It looks like a tiny cafe made in middle of a rondebosch house @ hare krishna or iskon as it's officially called.
Since we had driven a fair distance, we decided to give the food a try, thoroughly impressed. It felt like the best home cooked meal in last few yrs. Purely vegetarian, the paneer, veg kofta, dal and rotis were amazing. They were out of Chai tea which would have made my meal perfect. Coming back for food when I miss home.
I wasn't in the mood to cook dinner tonight and was hoping that at best, it would make a welcome change and assumed it would probably be a one off. Instead, I am blown away.
The depth of flavours, subtle spicing and generous paneer servings set this apart from much of the vegetarian take-away fare. I will be back again as the menu changes every week and I know that I've only scratched the surface. Prices are reasonable and portions generous. Really impressed, knocks the socks off Govinda's Soho, London.
Calling all vegetarians and lovers of wholesome, unfussy, superb-tasting food. This is Rondebosch's best kept secret. I try and visit Govindas weekly. I crave their food. Limited options but then you don't need variety because EVERYTHING tastes yummy. Rice and dhal, spinach and potato, butternut and broccoli, chickpea balls with tomato sauce, rotis, chickpea fudge .... and prices are extremely reasonable.
Awesome Indian vegetarian food :) the ambiance is cozy and spiritually uplifting. The food is pre prepared with love and grace and always tastes phenomenal. It just sells out really quickly ! I love the paneer and chickpea fudge :) sometimes there are delicious, healthy carob snack bars available for home, too! :)
Great Indian vegetarian food at reasonable prices. I especially enjoy their kofta balls with homemade tomato sauce over it. They are only open Wed-Sat 12-5PM though.
