Wonderful fresh veggies and fruit at excellent prices...served with the biggest smile...so pleased we have this every Thursday. I totally recommend it. Plus of course many other dishes to taste and enjoy...plus entertainment!
Open to public The City Bowl Market is an ideal place to visit not only if you like to support local suppliers but also if like organic produce.
On market days you can feast your eyes on delicious foods and candy. Amber Golden honey and various other curious and crafts from local artists. The vendors are so friendly. I think it's also a perfect place to meet new people with similar tastes and likes. If not for the food or the crafts then come to meet interesting and new people. The market has so much to offer.
Just make sure that you come early though if you are driving,because parking can become a challenge or come on foot or book an Uber. It's so worth visiting.
Bazaar like atmosphere in a heritage building in Hope Street in Gardens. A good variety of food and drinks stalls, a nicely prepared seating area and live music creates a laid back and relaxed ambience. Thursday nights only!!
It's a somewhat pretentious food market with some great live music and amazing brownies. Not hugely different from every other market I've been to - conveniently close to work and coincidentally on Thursdays, which is a great springboard for First Thursdays.
Lovely little locals spot with everything from vegan goodies or biltong, to your fresh veg for the week. Throw in a fun vibe and glass of craft beer with some friends, definitely a good way to kick off your Thursday evening.
As my first time visiting the market,I didnt know what to expect. However,I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of stalls at the market. From bunny chow to wood fired pizza to veggie burger (for vegetarians) and live music! 10 outta 10 recommendation

Brought both my moms to City Bowl Market and we were welcomed by live music and affordable mouth watering home cooked meals made by the different vendors... as a local its a definitely great place to come after work.

Brilliant collection of stalls. I go for the delicious falafel wrap, the beautiful hand crafted jewelry and the always fresh plastic free fruit&veg shopping. Vibey and lovely!
