Fujiyama - Cape Town Central - Photo album

Best Authentic Japanese traditional restaurant in South Africa! The restaurant owner is very friendly. Recommend the plum wine, it's a homemade Japanese plum wine. Also highly recommend having Omakase ((in a Japanese restaurant) a type of meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef). This resta
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Fujiyama. My favourite is the delicate tofu dish - can you see the butterfly effect of the bonito flakes? The pork ramen was the best Ramen we've had in Cape Town. Chef makes his own plum wine - a sour sweet drink to savour. Beef Dumplings - a must. The d
We came for dinner on Monday night and absolutely loved the authentic Japanese dining experience at Fujiyama restaurant. In a city such as a Cape Town that seems to have developed a real appetite for Japanese food, I would highly recommend this place. There aren’t as many frills, but it’s the real d
You can try an authentic Japanese restaurant in CT! I recommend the OMAKASE course👍
Authentic Japanese cuisine and very welcoming chef! We ordered two ramens - miso and pork, and both were delicious. Absolutely recommended!
Authentic Japanese cuisine. We Japanese family with two teens were amazed and satisfied with their food and service. We visited twice in a week, for dinner and lunch, and both experience were unforgettable.
What the restaurant lacks in ambience it makes up with flavourful food! The pork ramen was yummy (certainly one of the better ones in town) and came served in a generous sized bowl of ramen noodles and broth but could possibly do with an extra slice or two of the melt in your mouth pork. Service w
The beef dumplings warmed my heart and soul. The pork ramen, with inhouse noodles is delicious. To me, the perfect texture, glistening in pure heaven with the most delightful chewiness in every bite. The pork, with a blow-torched sear perfectly melting in your mouth. Along with all the sprouts, bl
Really lovely little spot, the chef/owner is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Our waitress was awesome and lovely. We had the Pork ramen and I'm in love with the broth, so flavourful, and delicious. Came out piping hot and I really had to try and use self control not to dive right in, it's tha
What a great experience!! We were the only ones in the restaurant but the service from the wait staff was still top notch. Because we were the only ones there, we were delighted by the chef who regularly stopped by to tell us himself about the dishes we were being served (we had the omakase) and ga
Best authentic japanese restaurant in town. The japanese manager/ chef serves himself and as a Taiwanese, I can feel the genuine warmth in his humble smile. Highly recommend beef udon, yakitori, get some housemade plum wine, better make a reservation before you go 😌 the tofu is amazing too😭
Good okonomiyaki, which reminded me of Osaka (although this one had chicken as there is no tako on the menu). Went in for lunch on a Saturday and was the only patron, not too shocking considering the restaurant is a little hidden away. There was a bit of an awkward feel being there alone especially
A Cape Town institution. The Japanese chef has been in South Africa since 1989. Go for an intimate, authentic experience with personalised service . If you want more modern, “fusion” sushi rather look to Willoughby’s.
There are mixed reviews about Fujiyama, but I have FANTASTIC food every time I eat here. Highly recommend you try their chef’s selection or set menu’s, Japanese food is not only sushi and the set menus give you a great glimpse into Japanese cuisine. Don’t expect top notch service, but the food defin
Brilliant food and cute place. The owner came and spoke to us. He has been doing this for about 34 years and he use to have a bigger place but then COVID hit. Really nice man. We definitely enjoyed it.
A beautiful, no nonsense, truly traditional restaurant, with a passionate owner wanting to display his culture. I love this place not only for the food, but chatting to the chef, he has a real drive to just make the truest food he can. A memorable experience for sure
