Amazing food made me feel like I was right back on the streets of Tokyo. Lovely atmosphere & cozy decor, must go if you want a real Japanese Culinary experience.

Best Authentic Japanese traditional restaurant in South Africa! The restaurant owner is very friendly. Recommend the plum wine, it's a homemade Japanese plum wine. Also highly recommend having Omakase ((in a Japanese restaurant) a type of meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef). This restaurant never disappoints me on my every visit!!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Fujiyama. My favourite is the delicate tofu dish - can you see the butterfly effect of the bonito flakes? The pork ramen was the best Ramen we've had in Cape Town. Chef makes his own plum wine - a sour sweet drink to savour. Beef Dumplings - a must. The decor is simple. There are no pretty good views and the restaurant is a bit dark inside. There's a parking lot opposite the restaurant - and they are unreasonably pricey in the evening- we paid R50 for parking less than 3 hours but I suppose it is town and there was no free street parking available - being a Friday night.

We came for dinner on Monday night and absolutely loved the authentic Japanese dining experience at Fujiyama restaurant. In a city such as a Cape Town that seems to have developed a real appetite for Japanese food, I would highly recommend this place. There aren’t as many frills, but it’s the real deal. I haven’t had such good cold soba with tempura prawn and vegetables since my last trip to Japan - it really hit the spot. The sashimi was also extremely fresh and well prepared by the owner himself. PS There was an open sign on the gate. The restaurant may appear closed but the gate is just closed due to security - ring the doorbell and someone will come welcome you in.

Authentic Japanese cuisine and very welcoming chef! We ordered two ramens - miso and pork, and both were delicious. Absolutely recommended!

Authentic Japanese cuisine. We Japanese family with two teens were amazed and satisfied with their food and service. We visited twice in a week, for dinner and lunch, and both experience were unforgettable.

What the restaurant lacks in ambience it makes up with flavourful food! The pork ramen was yummy (certainly one of the better ones in town) and came served in a generous sized bowl of ramen noodles and broth but could possibly do with an extra slice or two of the melt in your mouth pork. Service was somewhat inattentive, but certainly not terrible. It was also nice that the amiable owner/chef made an effort to engage us as to whether the food was to our liking. I will definitely go back to try other dishes.

The beef dumplings warmed my heart and soul. The pork ramen, with inhouse noodles is delicious. To me, the perfect texture, glistening in pure heaven with the most delightful chewiness in every bite. The pork, with a blow-torched sear perfectly melting in your mouth. Along with all the sprouts, black sesame seeds, green onions and a rich deep broth, that every human would be truly satisfied with. A definite must of your culinary calendar. Solid 8/10. #AlwaysRoomForImprovement

Really lovely little spot, the chef/owner is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Our waitress was awesome and lovely. We had the Pork ramen and I'm in love with the broth, so flavourful, and delicious. Came out piping hot and I really had to try and use self control not to dive right in, it's that good! The pork was the star of the show, melt in your mouth goodness, when taking a bite I was hit with 2 conflicting emotions. 1st emotion of elation at eating something so delicious, followed by a sadness because that meant i had one less piece left in my bowl! Will definitely be back I want to try everything and get more ramen because... ramen <3

What a great experience!! We were the only ones in the restaurant but the service from the wait staff was still top notch. Because we were the only ones there, we were delighted by the chef who regularly stopped by to tell us himself about the dishes we were being served (we had the omakase) and gave us history and lessons about the produce and the way they are traditionally served in Japan. If you want a wonderfully authentic experience then Fujiyama is the place to go! We will definitely be back!!
