Over and above they'll suggest similar reads or provide suggestions that have proved to be true gems 💎!
The store is well set out and welcoming, quite a collection point at times.

It's always good to pop in and browse this store. If you're lucky, you'll get a good deal. If they don't have what you're looking for, they source it, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Store has a lot of variety. I like fantasy books, mind body spirit and Manga primarily and the variety at the store is very impressive.
Also a lot of interesting other sections, puzzles and gadgets. Definitely worth a look

Lovely staff. Called ahead looking for a book, they checked and let me know they had it. We may not have been greeted on entry but they were very attentive when we asked for help.
Also, not treated like thieves and followed throughout the store - thanks for that. They will walk you to the genre you are interested in (not just point in a general direction and continue chatting to one another) and even have recommendations. Even remembered me from the last time I was there and the lovely long chat we had.
Definitely turned around the last experience of the other staff member not helping me as she thought I was the nanny of a woman with seventyleven children I did not arrive with. Much much better experience.
They have a lovely selection of local authors so it's nice to see them show cased and that my suggestions did not fall on deaf ears.
Would definitely recommend this store if you're looking to buy a book or two while in Canal Walk. They now close at 8.

Exclusive Books shut it's doors after the covid pandemic. More's the pity since it's one of our most loved and appreciated bookstores. I was disappointed because all there was at May's end, 2022, was a pop-up. Still I found something good - Simon Sinek's 'Start with Why', an inspiring and useful one, as is the author...well worth having a look at his YouTube posts as well. The GOOD NEWS was that Exclusive Books was once again opening its doors from Friday 3rd June 2022..all those wonderful reads again available to all you avid bookworms! The staff were most friendly, helpful and informative. Go browse you lucky fish that live in Cape Town...or visit from beyond...

The staff are helpful and pleasant and the shop is nice and quiet. It's a good break if you wanna get away from all the droning of the rest of the mall. I was held up in there with a book yesterday, and before I knew it 3 hours had passed. They have yummy snacks outside the store too.

The Canal Walk store has fantastic choice and the staff are always knowledgeable.
However, stay away from the Online Store - really consistent poor service. Complete lack of communication when following up on an Online Order. Shocking Service!

The staff are very helpful and extremely pleasant to deal with and they always a nice large variety of books available. As an added bonus, it is nicely situated within Canal Walk, where you can walk straight out from the shop to sit down and have a coffee while reading your new book.

Love the idea of a bookstore cafe and the cute set-up. The cakes look amazing but are average and tend to be dry. The coffee also really isn't to my taste.

I made a pit stop at this café for a quick coffee. I adored the cup and saucer; it was pleasant to the eyes and touch. The flat white that I had was neither here or there. However, coffee-lovers might enjoy their strong brew more than I did.<br/><br/>All in all, it was alright.

There's nothing better than relaxing on a winter's day with good coffee and a book. This shop has a bit of a weird set up as there's only two tables in the shop while the rest are awkwardly arranged in the mall walkway which makes it lack continuity and a vibe . We had cappuccinos which were average accompanied with a slice of baked cheesecake . The cake was fresh and tasty and made up for the weak coffee. All in all there are many better coffee shops in cape town.

I asked the waitress if I could have the rest of the cake and I gleamed with happiness when she said yes, turns out it was most likely because the cake had been there for ages. It was stale. <br/><br/>The muffin just wasnt good, thank God they heated it up otherwise it probably also would've tasted stale. <br/><br/>The cakes here do look amazing however and I will let back and hopefully give it a better review.

Very flat flat white...lacking the coffee aroma and overly milky. Grabbed a takeaway while doing some shopping, and a slice of red velvet cake to take home, which was moist but lacked flavour.

Service was shocking and when it finally arrived the waiters attitude was even worse. Cheesecake was not good and you actually have to get up to find a waiter. Don't waste your money, walk a few extra steps and go somewhere else,..... there are many to choose from.

Just popped in for a quick coffee. The coffee was good but service was a little lacking. We didn't say we would not be eating but no one checked in to see if we did want to order food. We also had to get up to pay as no one came back to the table after they brought our coffee.

Pretty neat and clean little cafe in the middle of the mall. My girlfriend and I had coffees and slices of the carrot cake. The cake was good, not something to remember but not too bad either. I had a Hot chocolate, which was ok though not as "chocolatey" as I would have loved. Girlfriend says her cappuccino was not the best out there, but just ok. Little cafe is quite clean too. Really clean.

Stopped in for some coffee and cake, but found service to be really slow. There were only two members of staff working with very few people in the cafe, so not sure why it took so long?<br/><br/>Really great idea having this located outside of Exclusive Books Café . Sip and read :-)<br/><br/>I had a tasty chai latte, my companion enjoyed a cafe latte with a shared slice of decadent lemon meringue pie. The cakes are HUGE!!!! 1 slice definitely too big for myself!<br/><br/>Don't stop by if you're in a hurry, but if you got time to spend or reading a book then check out this clean and cute café!
