Meadowridge has many young families with young children and this place caters for that. There is a large outside area with umbrellas and a play area for kids. I had salami, mushroom, feta and garlic pizza(forget the name) which was average size and at R130 maybe a bit expensive. It had loads of cheese, salami and sliced mushrooms so maybe R130 is not too bad? The base was very thin but crispy and remained firm which was impressive! Enjoyed the coffee and the pizza. And I must mention that the service from Gideon was fantastic. He has a huge smile making you feel like he is happy to serve you!
The boss and I nipped out to grab an early takeaway lunch from col' caacchios.
They have a really great piccolo lunch time menu, with all options being under R60, with pizzas, pastas and salads from which to choose.
We got two pizzas to share; a pepperoni and their carmachi (mushrooms, carmamalised onions, fresh tomato and chilli). The pizzas are smaller than usual, but filled us sufficiently. Crispy, thin bases and a great combination of toppings on the carmachi.
I see they are going to be launching a breakfast menu soon, so I will have to be back to try it out!
Really friendly staff, pizzas were made in 15 minutes. Will happily return here in the future.
Ps. They also do home delivery, but they do charge depending on area.
Ordered 2 pizzas via Uber Eats, and impressed with both the food and the service.
Fior d latte mozzarella with baby tomatoes, basil, and onion was great, while standard margarita tasted better than it looked (hunger did play a part)
I decided these were the best takeaway pizzas we've tried in years
Delicious pizzas with the friendliest service in Cape Town. The Prostituto is a winner if you can say it without giggling. Will be back soon
The Col'Cacchio pizzeria in Bergvliet only opened it's doors recently so there are some teething problems - like not having a liquor license yet (you are allowed to bring your own drinks or get from the restaurant next door).
The food was great, but I am most impressed by the fact that you can substitute the cheese on your pizza with pure goats cheese - perfect for the lactose intolerant or people with milk allergies.
We had the Torello salad - a must! Pear, brie cheese, biltong, roasted onion, caramelized seeds and vinaigrette served on a bed of fresh rocket - this is huge so best to share. I also had the celebrity chef pizza pizza for November - out of this world! Who does not love a good pizza - and they have soooo many options to choose from!
Col' Cacchio has an excellent selection of pizza and pasta to delight the taste buds. I attended their Zomato foodie meetup and was most impressed. We were well looked after and I have no complaints what so ever. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable regarding the individual dishes. The decor made me feel very at home and comfortable. Quite nice. Now to the food! The salads were excellent. The biltong salad was sublime. Im not much of a salad eater and I tore into it like a hipster vegan devours an organic heirloom tomato grown on his low impact balcony garden. The pizzas are not your usual fare and tend to the gourmet side. Very interesting toppings indeed. I wolfed down everything set before me. The shredded beef pasta was quite delicious. I could imagine this shredded beef on a pizza with some tzatziki just blowing my mind. Wink wink. The dessert was fantastic. I really have nothing to whine about. Will definitely revisit this establishment. On a side note the conversation with the other foodies was hilarious and informative. I had no idea of the plight of the Mauritian lillies which is now my main concern in life.
Last week I was treated to a zomato meetup at col cacchio mio which I was very excited for, I have always loved their pizza's! I have a few favourites that I stick to though so when I saw the menu I was glad to see only dishes I hadn't had before. To start with we had some truly tasty salads my favourite by far the one with biltong in it. Seriously the best salad I can remember eating! We progressed onto a few pizza's for mains which I definitely over extended myself as I had to try all of them. Between pulled pork, indian butter chicken and a lot more impressive flavour combinations I honestly can't pick a favourite. Dessert was a chocolate brownie I think with Ice cream. The brownie was still warm in the centre, and tasted great! I love this franchise more and more each time I visit! Thank you for the invite Zomato, I had a great time!
We usually order pizza from this branch which is always quite satisfying. Pizzas are fresh and delicious - personal favorites include the pulled pork, the ham and mushroom or Hawaiian.
I was extremely disappointed last week though when I discovered that the pasta menu was almost halved as it is a Mio branch. The only available options either had meat or a cream base which left me really upset as I was looking for a fresh tomato and vegetable option.
Last week I got an invite to my first ever #ZomatoMeetUp, and I'm so glad that this dainty little Col'Cacchio was the place where it all went down!
I really liked the ambience of this Col'Cacchio. Being a fan of the franchise I've visited many, but the smaller size and the low-light really give this place a romantic, relaxing feel to it. Also, service is really important to me, and honestly I couldn't fault it. We didn't sit with our empty plates long, the food came quickly and at the same time (a feat given it was a large table).
Most importantly though, the food was delicious! Wow🙈😍 I'll say straight out that I fell madly in love with the blu formaggi pasta (blue cheese, bacon, garlic etc). Now before you run away because of the blue cheese thing, I'll let you know: I'm not a fan of blue cheese. And yet this was probably the best pasta I've had in the last year. Somehow the blue cheese doesn't overpower the flavours, and I found the combination divine. Cant wait to try it again😏🍝😍
Another highlight for me was the Foresta pizza🍕 (salami, mushroom, green pepper & garlic). I love garlic, and combined with salami and mushrooms I was in my happy place. The Strega pizza (black mushroom, rosemary and garlic) is also worth a try - rosemary on pizza is surprisingly yum😱🙊
I also want to mention the moghul pizza. Essentially guys, this is the perfect pizza for when you're craving Indian food and pizza at the same time. Who knew you could satisfy both cravings, am I right? This pizza is so innovative and daring, and it really came though! Deluuuush. 😍 Of course, the salads and the dessert were good too.
If you enjoy good Italian food (who doesn't?) with a unique, delicious flare then this Col'Cacchio is really a great choice. And maybe don't play it too safe when you go here - try something new!:)
I love Col'Cacchio, but until now had never tried this branch. We were treated to a variety of salads to start - my favourite being the Brie and biltong (right?) - although everything was very tasty. On to the pizzas: all of them were great but my absolute best was the butter chicken pizza. OMG. I could live on it! I was also super impressed to hear that they make all their dough on the premises, and roll out each base as it's needed. No pre-made nonsense here. We also got to try some of their signature pastas, and although I'm not usually a fan of pasta in general, there's a lot to be said for their shredded beef version. Lastly, dessert was served, and it was perfection in the form of a chocolate melting masterpiece. In fact, this pudding is proudly made at this branch according to the manager's recipe and supplied to other Col'Cacchios around town. I was well impressed by this fact, and pretty much by everything else! Do yourself a favour and give it a try if you like in the Southern Suburbs.
