Oh, what a hidden gem, why, oh why didn't I find you'll sooner. Their dishes were simply divine and delicious. My dad had the vegetable breyani, son the chicken breyani, with side orders of aloo paratha, soya mince samoosas and potato samoosas to tide us through supper. I had a bit of both and it wad awesome, lovely and delicious, to end the night, a slice of chocolate cake.
I stumbled upon this place and boy, was I glad I did! The menu had the perfect amount of options, not too few, but not too many that it was overwhelming. Every entrée I tried was good
When we first got in the shop we got a funny smell , so my husband and I wasn’t sure to order at first . So we just ordered potatoes Samosas first to give it a try and a mango lassi 😃😃which tasted good but would have been even better if it was chilled more. So we was still skeptical to order the food cause , with me being an Indian from Durban .I’m very fussy and tired of all the bad Indian food in Cape Town . So whilst we was waiting for our samosas to be fried I just started chatting to the friendly cashier and asking him about the owner . I just asked him if I could have a look at the Vegetable breyani and he replied saying I’m lucky cause there was making an order and he brought a sample to show me and it looked so good 😊 which made me happy . So then I ordered 2 veg breyani. We live in Sea point was so surprised that they packaged the food so good in the foil and cling wrap that after 35mins we arrived home and the food was still piping hot . The food was very delicious big portions so it’s worth the price and close to home cooked breyani and the potatoe samosas where the best in Cape Town I have tasted so far . So I’m glad we didnt let the funny smell put us off,now we found this little Gem when I don’t feel like cooking a curry or breyani and feel for Indian food , we will definitely go to Prashad ..😃😃
I wasn't all that hungry. Also, didn't have enough time to soak up the cozy atmosphere of the subtly lit seating area. So I decided to sample something small. I tried their chilli-bites & samosas. The potato samosa was a winner! Spicy comfort food that won't overwhelm your tastebuds.
Great little gem of a place with attentive service & excellent value for money 👍
Plenty vegan (& gluten-free) options ... :)
Amazing the first vegetarian Indian place in town :) nice to know my food is not being prepared alongside meat products. Fresh veggies also really great as I’ve found other Indian restaurants to use only frozen. Great telephonic service, friendly and helpful..my new OrdeIn go to!
This is one of my fav spots for some fav Indian dishes that are 100% vegan. Great selection and every dish I’ve had so far has been flavorful and spiced just right. They use mock meat and cheese, and have now included tofu in some dishes. It’s a small spot in a strip mall on Kloof Street. Not the most friendly guy managing the place…hence the 3 stars for service. This time I tried the mock chicken breyani, which was filing. And a couple of soya samosas.
My first time ordering food from them and will most definitely go back to try their other dishes. What fantastic service I got there. 100/10 will definitely recommend
Good Indian food, all vegetarian with a wide range of vegan and gluten free options. They seem to predominantly cater to the takeaway market although they do have seeing. The staff were friendly and the food was good.
We got everything vegan and it was Excellent 10/10 if I could. We especially loved the garlic naan which is a treat because in most Indian restaurants naan is not traditionally vegan. The Aloo Gobi is the best I’ve ever had- nice touch with the fried cauliflower! The place was clean, food came quick and was hot and fresh, and the service was excellent.
It's always so nice to eat here - there are so many yummy vegan dishes, and the service is great. My personal favourites - soya chicken breyani, dhal, butter bean curry, tofu wrap and soya mince samoosas.
Delicious vegetarian food served up every time. Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from and each dish is just so yummy!
The food was more than delicious and the portions were plentiful.
We had the aloo gobi and palak paneer with garlic naan and aloo paratha. We ate fully and took home left overs. Cannot wait to try everything on the menu!
I don’t have pics because I started eating before I remembered to take any!
Staff were really helpful and friendly!
Visited Prashad's for the first time and yesterday and omg was I blown away. We ordered the soya prawn breyani (came with a side a dhall & sambal) and soya butter chicken (came with a side of basmati rice). I bravely chose medium for the breyani heat strength and it was really spicy but so so flavourful. The portions are generous, as we even managed to take some home. Highly recommend if you're vegan/vegetarian and looking for some good & hearty Indian food.
A very nice, fully vegetarian/vegan Indian restaurant. Lots of options to choose from and overall the food was great
So happy we ordered from here. Food was amazing. Perfect blend of spices and bold flavours. All present are as happy as I am. Highly recommend.
