Really enjoyed, great service and sensible portion sizes which was welcome. Lovely way to serve tea also, love your tea pots!
The best place to relax and just get away from the office. Lovely atmosphere, great food and music!
City Bowl Health is a great escape from the busy city. You’ll find it tucked away off Plein Street with a lovely courtyard, friendly staff and wholesome (and affordable) food.
I have been frequenting during lunch time. You can build your own salad, they offer daily specials and have delicious, tempting treats on offer.
My friend and I have been recently opting for the daily soup special which is served in a giant bowl accompanied by a cheesy quesadilla. The owners are Brazilian and are so friendly, they do their best to ensure you are happy!
Great relaxing atmosphere, takes you away from the rush of the city. Very friendly and helpful staff with great knowledge about food. Meals are very light and tasty, the Latin American influence is very evident.
Simple healthy home made food in a no frills no fuss setting. I had the special of day which was quiche and some salad. The portion was alright for the price but I enjoyed the berry smoothie I ordered too much better.
This hidden gem has one of the yummiest smoothies I've tasted in a while, called the Tropical! Awesome way to start off the day (other than coffee of course) and they have a range of other yummy things to eat, which I'll be back for real soon
This was a hidden gem we stumbled across. The food here is cheap, cheerful and healthy!! Very difficult finding cheap healthy food these days. The owners were very nice, we begged her to open up a restaurant in JHB but not anytime soon. Must def visit if you're into clean simple healthy food.
The first time we came here I ordered 'quesadillas' and then the guy behind the counter pronounced it 'kaeh-suh-deeyah' so I KNEW it would be rad. And it was. Perfect portion sizes and served with a light, delicious side salad. I've also had the beetroot/apple/celery juice and I'll give it a thumbs up. There are plants everywhere on the walls and a gentle courtyard vibe, which is such a delight in the bustle of the CBD. Also, if you look up, you'll notice a tiny fig tree growing in the cracks. It's like a symbol for CBHK's vibe. This place is pulsing with nutritious (but not raw-vegan gross) style foods. They even had milk tart. And as an Afrikaner I have the right to judge the hell out of that. I give it a solid nod of competence. If you need some peace and a good meal, come here. Seriously. Your bowels and spiritual self will thank you. Just remember that you've had that beetroot juice and don't freak out when your poo is red.
