I had an absolutely amazing night tonight at CTFM! We had a wonderful service, our waiter and waitress were so friendly to us, we felt so welcomed!
I couldn't thank them enough for their great service!!
The food was absolutely delightful! From the mouth watering ribs and lamb shank to the tempura fried sushi what a treat! Even the side plate of veggies were absolutely devine! And the house wine was also delicious as well as the cocktails! I could go on for days! Just, great food in general
Thank you so much #ctfmtokai
5 golden stars from me!
I went for supper with my mom and brother to celebrate my birthday and we had a great time! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. I made a god choice.
went back here after almost 2 years because of poor service and food quality. what a change 2 years can make. new Menu with new additions. great new presentation as well. loved the little pirates goodie bag to keep my little guy occupied.
While I'm not the biggest fan of this restaurant in general because of some bad past experiences, I'm a fan of giving credit where credit is due. We came for the Monday night special which is hake and chips or any burger for R50. Must say it was one of the nicest burgers I've had in a long time and really good value.
We came here for a cheap dinner last night- "cheap? Cape Town Fish Market?" YES CHEAP! Every Monday you can buy the most amazingly prepared hake for R50! We had the more expensive option (more fish) but were so wowed with the quality and taste of the food. The desert was terrible :( probably the worst chocolate fondant I've had! But the fish was really amazing! We will be back!
I have been to this restaurant on a few occasions and was very pleasantly surprised on this visit as I noticed the menu was upgraded and looked a lot more classy. Unfortunately the awesome fish tank that was once the centre piece is now gone.
But more importantly, the services was great as is the norm with this CTFM and the food was good too.
I ordered the executive platter with a seafood potjie.
The platter was for 2 to share and most of the seafood was cooked superbly. The mussels however were a bit bland. The seafood potjie was tasty but I felt like it should have had a greater variety of seafood in it. I could only see calamari and mussel. The sushi is alway fresh and well made here.
All in all it was a great dinner with good food and good company.
I will definitely be returning.
Enjoy!
Fresh fish, well prepared and reasonably priced. You can expect an authentic casual Cape Town fresh fish dining experience here. Service was a bit slow but when the food did come we weren't disappointed. It's loud and crowded, more of a laid back atmosphere which is great for a chilled family/friends dinner in Cape Town.
I was really really impressed, the food was fresh and so tasty.
We had the salmon teriyaki, which I thought was incredible. It was cooked to perfection and I loved the noodle stir-fry. For R130 it is pretty damn worth it, most restaurants in town you would pay over R180 for that quality salmon.
The sushi was sooo good and half price on a Tuesday is totally worth it.
This is probably my favourite CTFM in Cape Town.
Service was good, nothing to rave about but pleasant.
CTFM is a family and form favorite on the chain restaurant list, and out of them all, I have to say I prefer the Tokai one most.
Can't ever say I've had a bad meal, but if you looking for top seafood dining, you won't want to eat here.its more the Spur of seafood, only fresher!
CTFM is a great 'quick 'n easy' lunch / dinner choice is one of those reliable restaurants where you know what you are going to get. The service is good, the food is good, food comes out quickly with constant quality. The seafood platters are fantastic value for money and very filling.
Then you arrive you are warmly welcomed.
My only issue is the non child friendly stairs. Unfortunately not somewhere I can easily go anymore with 2 babies.
We thought we would do some seafood here on Sunday. I am not a seafood big fan but thought it would be a change! We were greeted by a very friendly and efficient waitress who seated us indoors, we then looked out towards the window side and saw it was quite sunny that side so we asked if we could move there but keep her as our waitress (we could tell already that she was good!) And she said with pleasure but advised us that it was quite warm and stuffy that side.....we didn't notice it though!
We ordered a sushi starter to share which was divine! Nice and fresh and tasty.
We then ordered our mains, The Hout Bay Platter for two (without the crayfish) and this was R268. We thought it was a good choice and worth it. Everything was fresh and yummy. And we definitely had more than enough for both of us! Service was very good! I love where this restaurant is situated - the Steenberg Village - love the whole block! Will be back! :)
Steenberg CTFM offers a beautiful, spacious interior. The service is good and so is the food.
My boyfriend ordered the East Coast curry and could not stop raving about it! It's served in a cute mini potjie pot. I had the Hake stack which includes my favourite veg on the side - spinach.
It was our first visit to the restaurant and they will definitely see our faces again :)
And they did! Last night we returned and the food was impeccable once again. I had the Fish Hoek platter and my boyfriend the Kalk Bay platter. The creamy mussels sauce was extremely tasty, calamari tender and prawns were delicious. I would definitely recommend the platters as you get a bit of everything and it's more than enough food.
I can't stay away! My friends were in town and I knew CTFM would be the best for seafood and it never disappoints.
I have increased my rating as the both the service and food has been consistently good and each time I visit I leave satisfied.
