Great Lasagne,Spaghetti with Salmon Trout was excellent.Tasty salad,friendly service.
We live in Southern Germany and spend many holidays in Italy,the was even better than in Italy.

One of our only favorite Italian restaurants in Cape Town. When we down from jhb, Mario’s is a must stop at for us. Love chatting to the owners, who have become like family to us. The dishes are superb, you can taste the homemade food and love and care in it.

We had an absolute perfect Christmas eve dinner. We had 2pasta dishes and a plain magareita.

The gnocchi was probably the best I've ever eaten, and the homemade pesto was authentic. I would go back any day for their authentic Italian pasta.

I was so hesitant to go here because of all the bad reviews online, but we had an absolute blast. Food is amazing. Owner and family is so present in everything about this restaurant I honestly felt like I was at someones home. Corkage is R35!! But their wine selection is lovely too. Will def go back.

A traditional Italian restaurant with the warmth and ambience of a Trattoria straight out if Italy. A real Italian Mama who cooks the food with all the freshest ingredients. And she takes the time and patience to cook like only real Italians can. The Veal was amazing, the pasta to die for. And the semifreddo... Oh my word!!!! A little gem, will definitely be back!

My bff and I happened upon this lovely authentic Italian feeling restaurant as we searched for pizza in Greenpoint. We both remarked how much it reminded us of a restaurant we'd eaten at in Rome a few years back. The waiting staff were Attentive but not overbearing, and the pizzas (Hawaiian and Quattro Staggioni) were thin based with lots of toppings and totally delicious! Glad we spot it

Family business been around a long time. Real traditional Italian food at it's best. Try any of the pasta/pizza dishes as proof. Great service, lovely Italian Mama that owner/manages the place with daughter and son.

This is a very cute traditional Italian restaurant, you don't get many of these anymore. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and wine. The service was fantastic. Would definitely go back again!!! Service and great food is key. Well done guys!!! Highly recommended.

People who complain about this place have no idea what they are talking about. The place is world-renowned for its authentic Italian cuisine. It has survived for over 40 years because of that. So what. The owner can be rude. It is part of the charm. Have you eaten in Rome? Do you know how abrupt the staff can be there? Get over it. This is one of the gems in our city. If you think otherwise go to some generic pasta spot and enjoy the fake food. Jeez ... South Africans. Cretinism at its best.
