Our November lunch was had at the Royal Oak in Tableview. JT and MH had the Liver and Onions; both were very happy with their meal. CH had the Pork chop which found to be tasty but on the small side. I had the Bangers and Mash which was very happy with. They no longer have Bosun’s Bitter so instead we had the Devil’s Peak which was a good substitute. I would say that booking is essential as the Pub was full.
A cozy and a cool pub which has Guiness and Kilkenny on tap ( Quite rare in the area )
Quite a relaxing atmosphere which makes you unwind your stress :-)
Feels like you are somewere in the UK as soon as you inside.
Can get relatively packed because off the size which brings a lively atmosphere.
Food is adequate.

A tiny little pub tucked away in parklands, the royal oak took my right back to my British roots. It was like sitting in a pub back home and I appreciate that, because it's been a while since I've felt so comfortable. The staff are beyond amazing and their Sunday lunch is unlike anything I have ever seen before - complete with Yorkshire pudding and real gravy. What's more, they have images of royal oaks from around the world, and I found Chester's royal oak sitting pretty in all its glory - the one I used to have dinner at every Sunday while I lived in the U.K. Without fail. Absolutely amazing and loved our Sunday lunch and beer while watching the Grand Prix - this is going to become a regular spot!
What can I say... It is what it is.. Unpretentious and friendly... Food is fine.. Average of R65 for most English pub style meals...today i tried the liver on onions.. It was nice... The caramelized onions, could have been a few more, as they add a nice sweetness to this potentially "could be" bitter dish...food needed salt, which, once I added, then was like a kick in the liver lol.... A would of a difference... For 65 bucks.. I can lift a salt cellar...:-)...and nice and cool in there.. Not many other places, where it would have been cool in today.
Great little English pub with friendly staff. In summer it's cool and in winter it's cosy. Their menu is your standard pub grub food and they do it right! Tasty, good portions, well priced and service is quick. Can't really go wrong with this spot. Their winner is the Sunday Roast!! Served with all the favorite Sunday roast veggies, Yorkshire pudding, gravy - and they don't hold back on the portions! Their Sunday roasts are very popular so best to go early or reserve a table.
great English pub with great English lunch menu. 👍👅good drinking place in the evening cozy and happy. warm and friendly. Quiz nights on Tuesday 1 week of the month. just check before you go. lol
Hi Riaan
The Sunday lunch is a winner, but it's not a buffet. It is Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding., roast potatoes, butternut, peas, carrots, cauliflower and cheese sauce, horse radish sauce and gravy. Option of apple crumble and cream or ice cream for an extra R20. Booking essential.
Definitely worth trying the breakfast!!
Delicious and very reasonable!!
Always friendly service!!
Remember only opens at 10am
Highly recommend
Try their Sunday afternoon buffet lunch for R70 .. It's a winner!
Full English breakfast (coffee / Tea included) for R30!!
Good value food .. lots of regulars coming here ..
I’ve not been here since 2010 or thereabouts, and believe this is a rebuild after a fire, or something. It looks pretty much the same save for the glass cubicle for smokers. Same grey heads and bald pates so I fit right in. Gentle, convivial atmosphere with muffled conversation and occasional guffaws of laughter that doesn’t quite manage to drown the eighties hits streaming from the speakers. It’s not noisy, I’m just sat right under one.
The kitchen is apparently overwhelmed by the ten or so orders from the handful of people here, but the owner/manager immediately notified of the delay so all good.
The food was just ok, perfectly decent and at a price point you would be challenged to achieve at home. This is a pub, not a restaurant. That said, a charming glimpse into a glorious time when day drinking was a national past-time. I loved it.
Glad to see the friendly vibe & the regulars back at the Royal Oak since the new owners rescued it & have revamped the place from top to bottom.
Now a pleasure to enter with a clean, airy feel & no more sticky carpets.
All new toilets are sparkling clean.
Also the new solid oak bar looks fantastic.
Food is back to how it used to be. Prices have dropped & finally you can get a proper All Day English Breakfast till 15h00. Better choice of beers on tap. Congrats to Tommy, Terrie & Gordon.
Felt as if was back home in the UK! JUST a shame you are so far away from us. Could easily be our local. Food was amazing! And loved the Guinness on Tap! We will definitely be back
Me and brother-in-law called for a wet as one does. Had a couple of hours chewing over the world's problems. A good local pub .Can't coment on the food but the prices seemed to be good value.
A lovely pub in the heart of Blouberg.
The patrons all very friendly and welcoming of non locals visiting their favorite spot.
A little slice of British life right by the beach! Absolutely love this gem of a find. Great Sunday lunch and excellent service. Makes me miss home!

After living in the hood for many a year, we were invited by a wonderful friend for lunch.
The service was great, and the food was really good.

Pork spare ribs.
Chicken Chowmein.
Will definitely visit again.
The food is really well priced, and the portions are huge.
All in all, we had a great experience.
We absolutely love this place. It’s our new favourite. The comfort food and atmosphere is just amazing. Our home away from home.
The royal oak is up and running again better than ever before. Pop in and see for yourself.
A grate little pub with good food and reasonable price in the Hart of TabelView and been there for a long time.
