Really awesome seafood! One of the best places for seafood in CPT, def worth a visit. Dont go if in a rush. Its relaxed, short but good wine list. Will def go again
The food was awesome! I love the ambiance and the service was very good. I would recommend this place to all my friends in the US
Absolutely delicious! Original Italian/Sicilian food! Big portions, good price, friendly service. Good wine choice. No unhealthy mayo and deep fried stuff as inost SA seafood restaurants. Fully recommended!
Fabulous, outstanding! I can't speak more highly about this food. Refreshing change. It won't be long before you can't get a table here! Can't wait to go back!
Let me start by saying WOW.
This was my first time at Pesce Azzurro and from the moment I walked in ...on my own... the staff were friendly and although I did not book a table were quite accommodating.
Specials were explained to me. So I tried the Tapas for 1 .... hope my pic shows justice to this amazing tasteful starter. Yum yum yum.
Think my favorite were the sardines (for the salt) and the Aubergine with onion and mint
Now what next. ... I chose the Carbonara. My eyes where to big for my stomach. But it was another delicious meal.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant Try something new, step out of your comfort zone and enjoy a glass of vino and a lovely dinner.
Popped in here on a Friday for a family dinner. The restaurant is cozy with a view into the little kitchen where all the magic happens. To start we tried the tapas which changes based on what's available. In our case we were presented with tuna carpaccio, tuna fishballs, aubergine "carbonara" and sliced octopus. All fantastic, and especially loved the aubergine.
The carbonara with pigs cheek is a real treat. It is however all about the fish here. The chocca calamari was a first, and it was excellent. There's a daily special's board that lives up to its promise. You're sure to discover something new here. I also liked that you can choose either salad, veg or fries as a side with your fish.
In the end we were too stuffed for desert, but indulged in some of their homemade limoncello. Coupled with a small selection of good wines (think Springfield Life of Stone) the dining experience was great. The service staff were very attentive without being overbearing.
This place is booked full most nights, and I can see why. Judging by the majority of the customers being Italian, their handmade pasta and seafood fair must remind them of home.
I would like to say as a restaurant that Pescue Al Zuro is the best Italian seafood restaurant in Cape Town. My only problem is this restaurant closes in the afternoon but opens in the evening which can sometimes be a waste of time. I have to wait till 6:30pm to go in while it is afternoon. I also want to say that the only problem about Cape Town that some restaurants close for a short one in the afternoon. The best about JHB is, restaurants open all day but never close for a short time in the afternoon. I hope this restaurant open for longer because I want the owner to become so successful with income.
I have eaten at Pesce a few times now and my reason for joining Zomato is due to the fact that it has such a low score for an establishment that has mastered the beautiful subtle flavours of FRESH seafood! I had to join to add my appreciation!!
Every starter and main course I have ever eaten here has been prepared to perfection and I have never felt that the fresh ingredients have been compromised by over seasoning. So many restaurants, infact most seafood restaurants, over season and over cook good, fresh ingredients. Not Pesce!!!
Their pricing is very reasonable and anybody that knows anything about finding fresh seafood will know that it comes at a price...
I will be loyal customer as long as they stay the ambassador for Fresh Seafood in Cape Town!!

Just coming back from a truly delicious feast at Pesce Azzurro in Woodstock.
The restaurant is so quaint and pretty and the ambience is a relaxed, homely one. But most important the food was absolutely exceptional, the chef boasted his authentic Italian flair and I was left wanting nothing.
Additionally, I think that the poor service reviews have been taken into account as the staff could not have been friendlier and bent over backwards to help us and make us feel well looked after.
Cannot wait to go back soon!
Had a great time here. We shared tapas and they were all amazing, although the white anchovies were my favourite. The buratta is what dreams are made of. I had the linguini vongole which was excellent except that a few clams were still gritty. I am definitely returning here.
Very good service and food.WONDERFUL!!!!!!!It has some of the best seafood I have ever tasted. It is the best restaurant in Cape town:-) :-) :-) :-
Great food, average service.
It's certainly one of the best fishes you will get in CT. Tapas are really worth adding to your Secondi, trust the bosses and ask directly for the advice of the day.
Unfortunately the 2 Italian chefs have not been too demanding on the quality of their staff. Forget your order, not always smile, look tired. Nice but not pro.
Eventually this does not offset on the tasty meals so I would recommend booking this crowded place.
