Steaks were all cooked perfectly, and were well basted. Service was good, food was very quick to arrive. The no corkage policy is great, and the ambiance is nice, has that classic old school steakhouse feel (not on the balcony though). Definitely one of the better Cattle Barons
Not my best CB but it is what it is, semi-average food, they have Sunday buffets, locals seem to enjoy it. If you want a quick bite, stop in.
Great quality food for an incredible price. Go quite often with the family to enjoy a warm evening with especially warm food. Highly recommend to all.
Best value for money during lunch buffet. Pensioners discount included. Large variety fresh homemade dishes to choose from traditionally made. From gammon to samosas bobotie, lamb and pork ribs, selection of salads and vegetable stews. Friendly and warm service. PS : can get a bit overcrowded on Sundays
Steak as steak should be, the 300 fillet champion was perfectly cooked as rare. The chips were crispy and delightful all brought together by good service and big comfortable booth seats. Definitely my favourite cattle baron
Not the nicest venue if you in the area but the food and service is really tops! Good tasty meat dishes and big portions, well worth a visit!
Been here a few times and think it is a bit of a "step up" from spur although I think they target the same market.
Made a reservation on their facebook page for their Sunday lunch buffet only to discover that somehow they have no record of it! Why have a facility or make use of a facility and not use or know how to manage it?!

Seems to be very popular and rightly so .. more than enough food and I would say value for money. You are allowed to help yourself more than once. Buffet .. R130-00 per person. Dessert is extra.

Good food, great service. Steaks are always a winner. Recently had the buffet lunch special, eat as much as you want for R75. Good variety, cottage pie and calamari was great.

I went in for a quick burger meal for lunch with a friend. Service is quite efficient and the meal arrived in a reasonable time. Burgers, chips and baked potatoes were excellent, certainly one of the best, if not the best, supplied by any local restaurant chain. Towards the end of the meal I found the service a bit wanting though. Yes, the manager and waiter did inquire if the food was good at some point during the middle of the meal. When it came towards paying it was difficult to attract the attention of staff. Our waiter was involved in a discussion about something with the manager for some time and the needs of the diners seemed to have fallen off the radar. I would rather staff were attentive at least most of the time, if not all the time, than come and ask about the quality of food when diners still have a mouth full of it. We went to the front desk to pay. I asked the waiter to add on an amount for the tip as a pen was not supplied for adding in the tip. Now, when paying for a meal I don't really like to discuss the total amount of a meal in front of my guests so I think it's really appropriate for staff to provide a pen for filling in tip amounts. The waiter, however, concocted his own amount as a total. Yes, they didn't complain when I pointed out that the final figure was different form what it should have been taking into account the added tip but it made me feel uncomfortable pointing this out in front of my guest. If a member of staff had been around and a pen supplied with the bill this would have been avoided. But overall, I should say the meal was excellent and this mishap was an oversight which hopefully doesn't happen too frequently.
Sometimes a little too much basting gets thrown on after grilling which is not needed. If you don't like too much basting, rather ask for no basting as they don't do it "less". One of the best steakhouses by far. Steak comes medium when asked for medium and is served on the original steak hot plates. Complimentary veg is always nice:)
