The owner, Fiona, is always friendly and remembers what her regular customers like! Her mega cappuccino is to die for. The salmon wrap is sublime, the vegetable roti is yummy & I love the venison pie. Will continue to return.
Staff always so friendly and owner amazing. Food and yummy treats are ALWAYS fresh. 10/10.
Nice selection, presentation, and quality of food in a small but very pleasant setting, with pleasant and attentive service. The bakery products are equally well produced and elegantly packaged.
It’s a great spot for a healthy, delicious meal. They cater for all food preferences to: gluten free, sugar free, low carb, vegetarian. The staff are really friendly too.
The wraps are heavenly and the homemade soups are hearty and wholesome. Their bakery offers delicious cakes, pastries and breads.
This is one of my favourite little day-time gems in Cape Town.
A quiet space in Observatory, with beautiful wholesome food made with love, I highly recommend a visit. They have a menu that caters to special dietary requirements, and give vegans and vegetarians a wonderful variety of options. I've been going here for years.
Highly recommended: The morning toastie (basil pesto, mozzarella, tomato and bacon on ciabatta - add an egg if you like), the Bacon Salad (a delicious fresh salad with bacon bits - add their home-made balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey and mustard vinaigrette), and their freshly made little cakes.
I had breakfast there and it was a good experience. Delicious oats, juice and coffee. Very cosy place, great bakery! Service was okay, good enough.
Delicious healthy food and fast service! In and out in 30 minutes with friendly staff and a lovely owner. The perfect place for a quick bite, a delicious breakfast or a tea time snack. Cosy space with warm decor.
Nice spot for breakfast - food is prepared well and the service is good. I like their approach to wholesome food. The menu caters to most and even has a decent selection of gluten free and all the the other “free”isms you can think of. All meals can be ordered to take away which leaves little excuse not to grab something for lunch to go.
We first discovered Mango Ginger while on the hunt for delicious bread. And delicious bread they have, as well as an amzing array of baked goods (for all food preferences) and good menu. Their lasagna is particularly good, and unlike so many establishments, their side salad is more than a soggy piece of lettuce. Great for a relaxed breakfast or lunch :)
I may have found gluten free heaven in Observatory. Mango ginger is already a win for opening at 7.30am. Got my morning coffee and a gorgeous almond croissant stuffed with coconut. Was so good! The seating area is great. Perfect for an office outside office. Almost all the baked good are gluten free including cheesecakes! And theyre packaged so pretty theyd make a great gift too
Enjoyed a fresh salad for lunch! Opted for the 1/2 portion and it was filling. It had hummus, sun-dried tomato, avo, cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, seeds and sprouts - very tasty! The salad also came with some thin and crisp rye bread wedges. The ingredients were perfectly sized so that a fork-full got all the little bits and flavours. Really loved the hummus & sun-dried tomato combo. Looking forward to going back and trying some of their sweet baked goodies (they have an impressive selection)!
Mango ginger is hidden on lower main road in observatory. A revamped house was turned into a cute cosy establishment with delicious healthy food. I had the honey and soy chicken wrap which was delicious. The chicken was really tender. I didn't enjoy the crisps that were served with the wrap- felt a bit stale. The cakes were good as well. Service was average but this place has alot of promise
I was served by the kindest lady who was so polite and hospitable. Absolutely loved their selection of drinks. She catered to my preferences and made me a new drink! It's such a calming place to wind down after a hectic day. Would definitely recommend!
We had some delicious breakfast options at Mango Ginger. The atmosphere is cozy and the decor makes me feel like I'm having lunch at my granny's house (in the best way possible).
The owner is sweet and attentive. I felt taken care of as a customer and I will definitely be back.
The owner/manager is so kind and every time I go there she makes me feel right at home. If you’re looking for a quiet and beautiful cafe, this is PERFECT.
We sat in the sun and enjoyed attentive friendly service from Fiona. The tables filled up quickly for lunch, yet we enjoyed the same high level of friendly service. Every plate of food that wafted past looked appetising and beautiful. Our meals were fresh and tasty. Special thanks for the coffee being properly hot and steaming. We will be back!
Having read reviews & articles about Mango Ginger, I was pleasantly surprised to have 'accidently stumbled' upon it. I was actually in the area for other reasons. The service, the food, the coffee were all excellent! The apple & cinnamon roll to die for!!! Highly recommended!!
Beautiful eatery place that offers a wide range menu including plenty vegetarian and vegan options. The vegan burger on ciabatta I had today was delicious. Parking available in the streets and toilet available on premises. Excellent friendly service and therefore highly recommended.

It was my first time there, my supervisor has its the best place to meet and having intimate conversation. She was write, we were able to talk about my PhD and also my personal life without being disturb or feeling like someone is listening. The service was great. I bought a spinish, avo and mink shake and the sandwich. Definitely coming there again.
Opening the gate it quite tough, you need to be ringed in through a bell. And the bell is not on the gate but actually inside on the side wall. Otherwise everything was good.
Very nice owner and service. Slightly disappointed with the egg benedict as I asked the white be cooked and it arrived undercooked but I did not make a fuss. Was kindly offered a coffee on the house. The glutenfree chocolate and ginger cake is fantastic and good coffee. Overall a lovely place and will go back!
A brilliant find, a hole in the wall. A small cafe hidden away, the menu offered some fresh new ideas and the food itself was very well put together and presented, very clear how much effort went into its preparation. The roast chicken with avo, rocket and honey mustard on ciabatta was particularly tasty. A great lunch spot
Fun, delicious food and drink options with lots of vegan and vegetarian choices, carb free, etc. The salads were impressive, even just as a side. The owner served us, she was very friendly!
