This is my first time back in years. The food is still tasty and the service is good. It was a great venue for a family birthday party. They aren't the cheapest though. Similar to Bukhari. The curry comes with rice only and you have to order the naan or rooti separately. The venue is a little dark but the lava cake was delicious 😋

Perfectly spiced, gorgeously flavourful Indian cuisine. We have had a bunch of misses with mediocre curry joints over the last year in Cape Town, but I am very glad to say that Bihari is not on that list. The food wasn't just good, it was surprisingly good. And damnit, I love good foodie suprise. Banter with our waiter, Yogi, was good fun, and his recommendations were delicious. The restaurant, as a venue, is fine. There's a couple of nice touches to add a bit of India and the lighting is better than many. In the end, though, it is a restaurant in a hotel. But that doesn't matter much because, who cares if the food is this good.

The food was absolutely delicious. Had our dishes Indian hot and wow as someone who loves heat I was not disappointed. It was so tasty. We were served by Trust who has such an amazing personality. He was attentive and friendly. He is a great asset to the restaurant. I asked to meet the chef to compliment him on his delicious dishes. He was so friendly and appreciative of our feedback. If you're a lover of Indian cuisine Bihari is definitely a place to try.

Bihari provided a large variety of flavourful, indian-inspired dishes that exceeded my expectations. All the dishes were served warm with a reasonable waiting time. The service provided by staff was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable for a casual dinner out with family. The paneer dishes served here are among the best I've tasted till date. There is also an array of deserts such as pistachio kulfi ice-cream which I'd highly recommend. Had an overall lovely dining experience at this establishment.

Authentic Indian cuisine. A comprehensive, well priced menu, which has dishes for all. Our Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken dishes were delicious. The wine menu is also affordable. First time visiting Bihari and it certainly did not disappoint. The food and atmosphere were really amazing. My mum and I ordered 2 dishes two share: Chicken Tikkka Masala (medium) and the Lamb Rogan Josh (hot) along with Garlic Naan. Both Currie dishes as well as the naan were absolutely delicious. I literally cannot wait to go back.

And we're surprised that they only give raita as a side dish...the dining etiquette were not upto mark,we had to wait for serviettes and cutlery even when the food was in front... I ordered the butter chicken curry on MrDelivery and wow I am blown away. The depth of the flavor and the spices that were used was out of this world. I asked for hot. And I generally find with Cape Town places that hot is not actually hot but wow this was the perfect amount of heat. I would give this place a 5 but I’m giving it a 4 because I wish they had given me more rice. I cannot wait to actually visit them for a sit down. 😭😩

Was there for my birthday begining of March. The place has a good look (part of hotel), quite busy, waitors are really attentive. The vegan dahl curry of medium to hot we had was really hot, and I generally like my chillies. It was quite tasty, just lacking something that binds all the spices together, a little bit of oil... so Im happy it was not on the fatty side as a lot of curries tend to be, but a little bit of olive or coconut oil would have made it great. But the basic food they are lacking were fresh vegetables, the side and main salads had not much taste probably due to the low quality of the cucumbers and tomotoes. No imagination in the salad section. So if they are keen to cater more plant orientated guests they need to up there one dish dahl option to a few, and add some fresh greens to the menu as the restaurant is missing out on supporting health beneficial foods! Until then I wont be able to satisfy my taste buds there...

As part of the southern sun, there is plenty of parking and is easily accessible being just off the main road. Bihari has a warm atmosphere with plenty of mood lighting creating a cosy atmosphere. It can get quite loud at times, with plenty of noise coming from the kitchen. Service was excellent. We had a very friendly and attentive waiter. The food and drinks were served very quickly, granted the restaurant was quite empty this evening. Good variety of drinks. Nice selection of wines and good coffee too. Food was amazing! I had the lamb korma (hot) which I highly recommend. The meat was soft and the curry flavourful while having that Indian kick you'd expect and want from Indian cuisine. The same could be said about the fish (kingklip) curry. I have to say, I was disappointed in the chocolate volcano dessert. I was expecting a molten lava center but got a standard chocolate cake center instead. It was still very delicious, though.

Bihari has a warm atmosphere and the service is sharp. The menu offers a wide variety but in my experience it is best to avoid ordering anything as mild, as it actually lacks flavour, not just kick. Personal favourites are the Fish Tikka and Chicken Breyani but you cant go wrong ordering any of their more popular dishes.

Gosh what a hidden gem. Bihari was recommended by a friend as being the best Indian restaurant in Cape Town. North Indian cuisine and he was spot on. Food was perfect and exceeded our expectations. Had palak paneer. Dhal makani and tandoori prawns all absolutely delish. Served by a wonderful Swahili waitron whose service and friendliness was beyond reproach. Booze a tad on the high side but all in all a great experience. We will be back !

Bihari is attached to the Southern Sun hotel and is easy to spot from the main road. I've been here once. The menu is quite varied and provides options for vegetarians and non-spice lovers too. I was disappointed by the food though and found it to be average at best (perhaps I just visited on an off day?) The restaurant is very dark inside but what I could see was tastefully decorated.

Its nice when your son calls you up and invites you to lunch. Both of us are curry lovers and decided to visit biharis. I was surprised as it was lunch and there was quite a few people there. We dove straight into main course. I had the chicken tikka curry with naan. He had the chicken korma. Mine delicious. His was ok. Then he swopped and ate all mine. Service was excellent . I dont like mango lassi though. Yuck. Only downside was the price hells bells 145 for chicken curry. Yikes

Amazing food, friendly staff, beautiful ambiance. This has got to be one of my absolute favorite indian resturants. Curries burst with flavor. Afghan lamb chops so tender it melts in your mouth. Garlic naan not too thin but not too thick. Everything has always been perfect when visiting. Not a single complaint! Keep in mind this is a "higher end" resturant so on average a meal costs between R100-R200 per person per main, but its worth every cent.

By far the best Indian restaurant in Cape Town. The food is absolutely amazing and tasty, I've visited this restaurant numerous times and without fail the dishes are made to perfection. Some of my favourites are the Dhal Makhani, Paneer Makhani and Mix veg in Cashew nut gravy (best ever) all dishes can be ordered from bland to Indian hot. The dishes are pretty expensive however one portion could feed 2/3 people. The setting is glamorous and the service has always been exceptional. I'd recommend Bihari to anyone looking for proper Indian food in a fine dinning setting

Would rival ANY indian restaurant in Cape Town in my opinion. Their Chicken Lababdar is my absolute favourite. Have never seen them overly busy, and service is usually surprisingly fast. Lovely authentic atmosphere makes for a nice romantic setting, and portion sizes make for a good family dining option. Top picks for me are their onion bhajis, chicken lababdar (even better than butter chicken), and lamb chops. The mango lassi is usually good, but has been average at times. Big bonus is the fact that they do takeaways!

A good experience. We were invited to join some friends for dinner there last weekend, and had a most enjoyable evening. The first thing I noticed was that the restaurant was a little more formal than the "family restaurants " that have become the norm in recent years, and the second thing I noticed was that we were some of the younger patrons. The service was as good as I would have expected, with prompt and polite assistance from the staff. We also waited long enough for our food to be able to have a chat, but not so long that we wondered if they had forgotten about us. When it comes to the food, they offer some of the usual options and some less common, like the Lamb chops which I haven't seen before. All of us found the food to be good, and probably the best of its kind that we have had in the Cape in the past 2 years. It's easy to make the mistake of complaining about the prices, but to be fair you get a lot of food for the money, and good Indian cuisine will see you parting with a fair bit of money at any such restaurant. Overall we were all very happy and this is the new benchmark for others to beat.

Everything on the menu is AMAZING! I stayed at the hotel for a week and I had their food every night. Their naan is out of this world and their mango lassis are superb. What a disappointment compared to a year ago. Butter chicken was average and it looked totally pre prepared, there was no evidence it had been soaking in its sauce. Lamb korma was over spiced and sauce was watery. For the price of R135 for the lamb, I expected more than 150g of meat. We'll not be heading back soon.

We had a lovely waitress but my goodness it took ages for the food to come out! Our reservation was for 6 35 and we got our food at 7 45. if you're in a rush this is not the place for you but if you're looking for a spectacular curry you won't be disappointed

I don't usually like to eat at hotel restaurants and bihari is great that it doesn't really feel like you're at a hotel. There was a very warm ambiance and the service was great - usually when you dine alone you get either a really absent waitron or an overbearing one but i got one that was really on her game. My food also came reasonably quickly, I had the butter chicken (hot) with buttered naan - i wish i had been warned just how hot the hot is (there's an even higher hotness level called indian hot and i can't begin to imagine what that must be like). That being said, my food was really great - it was very well seasoned and the chicken was unbelievably tender. The naan was really nice as well and i look forward to trying the food out again with medium hotness.

Best Indian food in Cape Town, absolutely amazing service, I often get the butter chicken and the garlic naan, my girlfriend gets the vegetable briani, take always are always great, especially when they offer you free orange juice while you wait. Top top place to dine at. But beware if you ask for Indian Hot it does exist and I needed pineapple in yoghurt to cool my mouth down, was spectacular. The thill of never knowing what your mouth may feel like again was great. Such great food

I have been eating at The Bihari for over a year now on a monthly basis. And other than tonight the service has been amazing. The service was poor and shocking! We weren't greeted by our waiter. We had to get her attention every time we wanted to order something. She never checked once if we were okay. We received our starters cold. The chocolate volcano that we order every time we visit was cold. We informed our waitress of this and she took it back and brought it back in the exact same condition. We sat at our table just waiting for most of the night and the restaurant was not busy. When she brought us cutlery she basically slamped it on the table and walked away. This was a really disappointing experience. And for the first time in over a year I am reconsidering visiting this restaurant again. Such pathetic customer service!!! Not recommended.

Every now and then I just get this intense craving for a curry and so far, Bihari has been the best curry I’ve had in Cape Town. The ambiance is not great, neither is the waiting staff but the kitchen makes everything OK again. The waitress who was serving us during our last visit seemed completely bored and not happy. When we asked her to put the leftovers in a doggy bag she didn’t even say anything she just angrily took away the plates. But let’s focus on the food because that’s what I’m all about; the various naans are great, the mango lassi is tasty and the curry is flavourful. My favourite is the Chicken Jal Frezi, please give it a try!

Getting takeaways from Bihari is super convenient and provides the perfect comfort food for any night in! The food is well priced and it only takes around thirty minutes. I've occasionally eaten at Bihari, but much prefer ordering out. The service is super slow and the waiters tend to be unfriendly.

We went to this place with high hopes expecting a grand experience. The service was too rushy as if it was a street vendor type. Wine was average. We ordered for Veg pakoda, veg Briyani, dhal makkani, paneer, butter and garlic naan. It seems like every single item on the order had sugar in it except for the pakoda which was nice to go with the pudhina raita. But I did like the naans as it was extremely tender and well cooked. But on a full scale we didn't like the quality of the food and the cordiality of the service when we pay a hefty price. I even passed on some advice to the waiter who just heard for a while and moved off quickly like who cares either way. Very bad service. May be we were just unlucky and got a waiter like that.

Was attending a conference at the Southern Sun hotel and for lunch we were given the option of their lunch buffet or the halaal option. Was I glad I chose the latter. Not everyday one gets to sample an authentic North Indian curry. A couple of us received a generous helping of butter chicken with basmati rice and butter naan. The curry was awesome with soft chicken in a lovely balanced sauce. Naan was buttery and the perfect vehicle for mopping up the sauce. One of my fave curry places in Cape Town.

Bihari is a regular an old favourite spot of my family and mines. It is such an underrated Indian restaurant and I feel it deserves so much more credit then the "more known Indian restaurants" in Cape Town. Each dish that I have had their has never disappointed me, their butter chicken, Rogan Josh and Paneer are all simply yummy!

Bihari is an old favourite of mine - I do feel like it sways away from traditional food and caters more to appease the masses, but the food is good. Tandoori chicken is delicious, and the palak paneer is my favourite dish on the menu. The straters are great for sharing, and Naan bread is amazing. Tasty delicious food that is well portioned and great for sharing. The restaurant itself is nice, more hotel-like and not really traditional, but it is enjoyable.

This is my go-to Indian place in Cape Town. The last time I got a takeaway it was a bit disappointing, but that is the only time out of many that I have been disappointed by the food. I almost always get the daal tadka, which is my favourite Indian dish. The food is always better when you eat in, and I never finish a whole meal, which is great for the wallet - it's like a buy one get one free since I basically get another meal out of what I order. The service has always been excellent - that has never been a problem for me. It's not the cheapest restaurant in the world, but that's okay. The food is worth it when I'm craving Indian. As for bookings, you sometimes have to book as the restaurant gets very, very full (as can be expected when connected to a hotel).

If this is the best North Indian food in Cape Town then I am glad, for once, that I am a Joburger. While tasty, the fare is nothing special in terms of different flavours dancing on tastebuds that I am accustomed to at a few places in Jhb, ones that trigger endorphins on the first bite, at much more reasonable prices for the same amount of food. The restaurant was very full for a rainy, winter Tuesday evening but had a great vibe and was not noisy or stuffy, if a little too warm. I always like being able to see the kitchen from the dining area and the chefs busy working away added to the ambience. The menu distinguishes between hot and Indian hot: I'd usually opt for the latter but was convinced by the friendly, engaging waitress to stick with hot, which turned out to be a good choice. Cocktails leave something to be desired (how is the place halaal if they serve alcohol? Another strange CT custom.) All in all, I'll give it a second chance but urge the establishment to step it up to reach our national standards of good North Indian happiness.

So I tried out Bihari in the hopes that it would really blow my mind, as many had recommended. It really was average and outrageously priced. I tried the chicken tikka masala and I was graciously given three small pieces of chicken. The naan is also seriously overpriced. Also a bit annoying that I asked for a sprite which was out of stock, then a coke light which was also unavailable. The ambiance is okay.... nothing fancy with dimmed lights. Overall the experience was very average.

The most authentic Indian food we have found in Cape Town so far. Hands down leagues ahead of the other "more popular" places. Why do Indian restaurants in CT not have the same quality food as Durban? This is the only place we've found so far that measures up and I'm not talking about the hottest food just the best tasting veggie and vegan dishes we have found so far.

Bihari is lovely from the first step into the wonderfully decorated restaurant, the waiters are great, the food arrives promptly and tastes amazing. The butter chicken is fantastic with a butter naan. The paneer is also good and flavorful. I've been a few times and will keep returning.

I have had take always a few times from Bihari and have yet to be disappointed! The curry is delicious and the paneer in particular is amongst the best in Cape Town👍🏻 my only complaint would be that while there is more than enough sauce the quantity of paneer is often underwhelming😔

Finding a really good Indian restaurant in Cape Town remains one of my missions so I was pleased to be able to dine here on Friday night. We decided to have mince samosas to start and they were really good. The pastry was thin and crispy and they were filled with a tasty mince, the best I've had for a long time. We had 6 different dishes including the Chicken Tikka, Chicken Kadai, Chicken Biryani and Chicken Lababdar together with Lamb Kadai and Lamb Goght. All the dishes were delicious with lots of spicy sauces. The flavours were all different but there was depth to each dish. The biryani was a huge portion and was probably the only dish which was good but not great! It was however enough for 2 people for 3 meals! We had 2 butter and 2 garlic naan which was more than enough. Overall the portions were very generous and no one had desert. The service was average, not outstanding. Overall I was very happy and will probably go back some time, maybe try a takeaway.

Bihari is one of the better Indian restaurants in Cape Town. Definitely my second favourite. A bit pricey but the food is always fresh and tasty. Usually go for the butter chicken with garlic naan, it's a winner. Other dishes I enjoy are the chicken tikka, chicken breyani and the samoosas. The service is prompt and the restaurant has a nice authentic feel to it.

The food is good but not the best I've tried I also feel that they are overpriced, I have had just as good or even better food for a fraction of the price they charge. Visited Bihari for the first time two weeks ago and I was absolutely blown away by how delicious the food was. I am, by no means, an Indian food guru, but their chicken korma was just amazing. The service was pretty normal but it's a really good looking place and ideal for a special night out where the focus is a peaceful evening out with good ambience and scrumptious Indian food. Judging by the rating, Bihari seems to be a popular restaurant but I was quite disappointed with my meal and overall experience here. I ordered their Paneer Makhani - there were hardly any paneer cubes, the gravy was so sweet and I am quite sure that they had used food coloring when preparing it. A friend of mine ordered the chicken Vindaloo - the chicken wasn't tender at all and once again, food coloring was used. The price of the food was far too high for the quality of the meal. Decor and service were both quite disappointing as well. If I do order anything from here again, it will be their naan as a take away.

First Indian restaurant which i visited in Cape Town. Ambiance feels quite nice once you enter the restaurant. It gives you a felling of Indian touch in the interior. Restaurant is quite peaceful in it, but they play Indian music in really low sound, which adds sweetness in the atmosphere. As i belong to Bihar, my expectation was to find some bihari dishes in the menu. But, only the name was Bihari. Still they have a nice menu having almost all of the dishes which you can find in an restaurants in India. Taste of the food was also nice and they give you a good quantity of the food as well. Not so expensive. This place is must be on your checklist if you visit Cape Town.

I've frequented this restaurant more times than I can count, but of recent there's something that seems to be lacking... It's so unfortunate, as it used to be my favourite spot to head to when I had cravings for fine Indian fare. The tandoori items are still delicious as always, especially the tikka pieces. I did not enjoy the Dahl makhni or chicken korma at all. It lacked the creamy cashew flavour that is synonymous with korma and I tasted too much of coconut in the dish. My company also did not enjoy their food and when we sent it back, the food that returned tasted like a totally different dish, but much better. If you knew it's supposed to taste like this in the first place, why did you leave out the extra ingredients? Strange... Anyway, it's still a beautiful place and the service is cordial and pleasant. I would suggest sticking to the tandoor menu as they never get it wrong! Their butter naan is also very lovely. Make sure you do make a reservation as they tend to be strict about that.

For good Indian food in Cape Town, Bihari is the place to go. The food is really impeccable, tasty, well presented and a dish is enough got 2 😳 The restaurant is sometimes packed which can be noisy but the staff will always do their best to accomodate you. A little pricey. Take aways are discounted though.

We were in a hurry but wanted a quick meal in under an hour. The staff were amazing, they told us what to order to ensure we received our meals within 10 minutes. We had brought wine which was not chilled to our waiters liking so he offered to replace it with a bottle at the correct temperature! They served complimentary crispy pompadoms While we waited for our meal. We ordered butter chicken, lamb vindaloo and lamb rogan josh. All three dishes were delicious but the rich, flavour packed rogan josh was my favorite. The garlic naan bread is something special - crispy on the outside and soft and 'morish' on the inside. I will definitely be back when I have more time to sample more items on the extensive menu. It is always a good sign at an Indian restaurant when more than 50% of the clientele are Indian families enjoying a meal together. Although the decor and crockery is a bit dated the food more than makes up for it. Authentic, delicious Indian curries with great and caring service.

Arguably the best Indian food in Cape Town. We had at our table a butter chicken, chicken korma, chicken tikka masala and a lamb dish (i forget which one). They were all ordered mild and were very tasty. The gravy and portions were good and the naan bread was delicious - we had the garlic ones! Service was hit and miss...not terribly friendly but the restaurant atmosphere is warm and inviting. Excellent food but is on the pricey side.

Best Indian food and service I have had in a long while. Tandoori chicken was moist, fell off bone easily - and butter chicken was outstanding. Naan bread and condiments didn't disappoint and choice of chicken and beef samosas was good. Ended off with traditional Marsala tea

I've always been a fan of Bihari and enjoyed their food everytime I've been. My most recent visit was no different, I had my usual paneer lababdar which was absolutely soul warming. On our table we also had the paneer makhni and butter chicken - both dishes were exceptional. There was one huge disappointment with the evening though. My mum wanted a paneer to be put into a gravy featured elsewhere on the menu (for daal, chicken and lamb). She asked if they could put paneer instead, which the manager agreed was a doable request. However, the chefs absolutely refused and did not listen to the manager. They were also not making romali roti that evening (which is on the menu) because the chefs did not have time. Sad to see the chef later texting on his phone for quite a while. Really quite a disappointing evening but the food was delicious. It is definitely an establishment where the tail wags the dog.

My parents were down from Jozi for a few days so we decided to go out for dinner. As curry is a favorite all round, Bihari got the nod. As it was a week day we didn't expect it to be fully booked, and luckily for us it wasn't, with only one table available. So I do suggest booking! We started off in the cigar lounge/ bar area with wine and starters. For our starters we ordered, prawns, meat platter and samosas. All were ok, but I felt might have lack a bit of flavour. But the portion size was great and it was cooked to perfection. We moved inside the restaurant for our mains and some more wine as the evening move on. The was a great atmosphere inside and our service was fantastic. For mains we ordered lamb vindaloo, lamb briannie and butter chicken curry accompanied by some cheesy nan bread! What magical food! The curries were fantastic all scoring an 8/10 and the man bread was amazing getting a solid 8/10. I can't wait to go back for more! Hope you enjoy it!

This is not a great restaurant for a beautiful day... a bit dungeon-ish but good nosh spot. I had a taste of all the starters ordered and would say that the chicken salad was very boring and dry but the drumsticks were flavourful. I had the Chicken Madras which was quite spicy even though I choose mild, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I also tasted the Butter Chicken which is a sweeter version than what I am used to, and made with cashews. I have a sneaky suspicion that the desserts may not be made in the kitchen but rather bought in. All in all a good meal though.

Just as we thought the age of fine dining with good service was over, we visited Bihari again. Once again we received a consistently good service and dining experience. We had an efficient, attentive and professional waiter who had in depth knowledge of the menu items, and could answer each one of our questions convinvingly. The decor and ambience feels authentic, the food is of a very high standard.The pistachio kulfi desert, falooda, and even the tea was executed to perfection - simple menu items other indian restaurants usually gets so wrong.The restaurant was busy, yet everything still operated as it should. The staff and management of the last indian restaurant we visited should goand dine at Bihari to understand how it should be done (See my previous poor review on Bukhara V&A Waterfront)

Ok, so Bihari is one of my favourite North Indian Restaurants. The food is really good and authentic. I would rate it second to a good home cooked Indian meal. The food is always tasty and the service friendly. I recommend ordering lots of starters and sharing it, that way you get a taste of everything. The main portions are also generous, but that's what I love... because it means left overs :D and it tastes as good the next day. My only criticism is that the dessert offering is very disappointing. An Indian resturant with such good starters and mains, you'd expect it to carry through to dessert, but it doesn't... Instead of getting tasty Indian desserts like rasmalai, gulab jamun or even a carrot halwa, they offer western desserts like chocolate mousse.

As an Indian I am slightly biased towards my mum's cooking, but this place gives her a run for her money! Butterchicken is what an Indian restaurant is judged on and bihari has an amazing dish! Madras chicken is my personal favourite but I recommend not getting it Indian hot....cause it really will make fire leave your body! Amazing food, atmosphere and service...hence the 5 rating!

Bihari Bihari Bihari. The only place that makes me crave a kick of spice. I've been only twice, but both times were exceptional. The service is good, albeit that the waters could be more attentive, but what the waiters lack, the food makes up for. The first time I went, there was a group of about 8 of us, and all of us left with full tummies and smiles on our faces. Both times, I had the Prawn Korma, and my god, is it close to the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. It's sweet, it's spicy, it's smooth, it's textured, it's just everything you dream of when you think of Indian curry. I could eat that korma seven nights a week, 365 days a year, and still want more! As for the rest of the food: The naan bread - perfect. The poppadums - perfect. The the samoosas - perfect. And dos I mention the curries? Perfect. The perfect place to go to if you're craving a taste of India. Just remember to book!

Walked in without a booking this evening. The woman at the door seemed surprised we didn't make a booking but was able to accommodate us. I love their sweet butter chicken. Not many places make it that sweet. I had some coconut mocktail that was good. We followed it up with masala tea which I thought was nice (subtle). Service from Bulelwa was good. She's very funny. I really like the automatic toilet too although the bathroom is looking a bit worse for wear at the moment. Their curries are on the pricey side and if you take naan it'll cost you around 150.

Great! I went there for lunch recently and was blown away by the amazing flavours. I often find that Cape Town curries are very bland, as they are afraid to add spice so that they can please the masses. Bihari's food was so flavourful, yet maintained the heat of proper Indian food. I had a lamb curry and it was out of this world. This is now my new favourite Indian restaurant

The Bihari has always been one of our favourites, my fiance and I favoring it as our go to for special date nights. I have in fact made it my mission to slowly work through the rather extensive list of curries on their menu in an effort to sample all that Indian cuisine has to offer instead of sticking with the same old butter chicken (which is excellent here by the way) Our most recent visit has cemented this place's reputation for me, we have consistently had a good experience and delicious food. I recommend asking your waiter for suggestions and stepping out of your curry comfort zone, you will find some amazing flavours out there, my most recent discovery being the ' bunny gosch' (don't trust my spelling) wow, what a flavoursome curry that I feel my life is better for having experienced. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I've tried most Indian restaurants in Cape town and this is definitely my favourite. Highly recommended.

A firm favourite for Indian food in the Southern Suburbs. The flavours are fuller than any other Indian spots I've tried. Portion sizes are more than adequate and service has always been great. They are pricier than most of the other Indian restaurants, but the quality of their food matches this. The restaurant has a wonderful, warm ambience that suits family or business dinners. We've only had one bad experience here when the chillies used were far hotter than normal, but, after complaining, we have not experienced this again in the several times since. I highly recommend Bihari!

Besides my wife, this is the best Indian I have had in Cape Town in a long time. Loved it. We ordered both Paneer dishes as well as Korma and garlic naan bread. A couple of castle lights to wash it all down. So good, I am eating the leftovers for breakfast. #winning. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. A lovely warm, welcoming vibe in winter. Our dishes were all spiced and flavoured to perfection and we had a great catch up with family. In terms of value for money, this must be the best Indian dinner spot in Cape Town. Nobody can beat my mother-in-laws cooking, but this comes close ;)

Every time we've been, we have been spoiled with top quality service and the waiters put in maximum effort to ensure that we are happy. Our experiences of Bihari have been the typical "service with a smile" and the staff are warm and welcoming! I LOVE spicy food and I've a tried a few different things on the menu from the Chicken Tikka Masala to the Chicken Tandoori to the Chicken Kadai... Biharis is a very happy place for after work drinks - the service is amazing, the red wine is delicious and the chicken samosas are light and tasty and incredibly moreish. Delly and I often pop in here for our weekly catch up sessions... The barmen are SO super friendly and always greet us with huge smiles and chats! Just love visiting every single time! Been to Bihari a few times. Food is good and service too. But don't order the food hot. It's a joke. For some reason the chef decides that you should be inundated with chillies to the point that you can't taste anything else. If they could manage to execute a hot dish that was palatable they would warrant a higher rating.

I'm not a huge Indian food fan, but came here once as my grandfather loves this place and often stays at the hotel. I tried the butter chicken - no mincing of words necessary; it was truly divine. Talk about a taste explosion 😍 the naans are great too! It was packed, even though it was a Tuesday, but the service was still good. My only hangup is the prices - it's quite expensive (especially for students). But I think once in a while it's a nice treat!

I absolutely love Bihari's and it's always my go to restaurant when I need a hot and spicy meal and fortunately for me it's conveniently close. My two favourite meals is the butter chicken or tandoori chicken with garlic naan with a Bombay crush to drink. This meal never disappoints but I've also a tried a few of the other items on the menu like the lamb vindaloo, yellow dhall and the chicken breyani, all of which was delicious. The service is always good and the price is affordable and you get big portions.

You guys, you guys, you guys - the garlic naan is enough reason to come here. Even if that's all you order. Although, that's not all you'll order though because the rest of the food is just divine. We had the butter chicken and the Lamb with coconut (not sure what it's called). It was so yummy and a perfect way to fill our tummies on a cold Cape Town evening. I must say that my only regret was ordering the butter chicken mild instead of medium. Rookie mistake. I can only fault them on slow service in taking orders/bringing bill, but otherwise food was brought quickly and they were very friendly.
