Do you want to impress someone and take them where the food is excellent, the atmosphere is awesome, the service is the best you can get in Cape Town and where the owner Paulo is hands on? We spend Jack Daniels Inspired fathers Day Lunch at the restaurant. Each table that had 4 or more people at the table received a bottle of Gentleman's Jack as a gift. This is the place to go. Fine dining at it's best but the food is still more than enough. I always thought that if you get served fancy food, that the servings is so little you will leave the table still hungry. This definitely did not happen at spice on main. I had the Beetroot & Orange soup and it was delicious. The plate was so much and even though it was delicious i had to leave some behind. My hubby and son had the Jack Pork Parfait and they enjoyed it so much. My main was the Angelis Jack Salmon and it was perfect. Hubby and son had the Pan Roasted Fillet of Beef that was cooked perfectly. By the time dessert came i almost could not make it but the dessert looked so delicious i had to try it. Paulo gave instructions on how to eat their signature dessert namely the Puff Bom Boms. Wow wow wow. Words cannot describe how delicious it was. Our waiter was at our beck and call and so friendly. Never was there a moment that we felt she was perhaps in our face, like sometimes can happen. But when we needed a refill or our plates were empty, she was there. Absolutely great service. The fact that Paulo was in the restaurant and spending time at each table to make sure the customers as happy is such a personal touch that you just know you are in real great hands. Spice On Main is in front of The Sugar Hotel and part of the hotel. If the service is so great at the restaurant i can just think how the hotel must be. Spice on Main is situated at nr 1 Main Road in Green Point, on the Ground floor of the Sugar Hotel. The menu is perfect for al fresco dining with the deck just above the street. Enjoying after work drinks, functions and any meals of the day. I was one of the lucky ladies that won a price to eat at Spice on Main and never expected to be treated so great. Thank you so much for making this day special for my hubby and my son. Believe me this was the best fathers day ever

Good setting and pleasant staff
Beautiful deco and ambience followed by a delicious main, even the side order of veg was mouth watering. Appetizers and dinner all presented meticulously 👌🏽 Staff were friendly, well trained and completed the experience with superb service.
They had a great winter special which I adored with a passion. From the service to the food everything was great. And the portions were reasonable. Would definitely like to try the whole experience from hotel to spa to restaurant...and the restaurant is of a great wonderland.
Yes, yes and yes. Went for breakfast on a cold Saturday morning. Such a beautiful and warm place. The waiters were great, the food was also amazing. This place is just perfect. I'll probably become a regular, I loved it👏
What an incredible little place in the heart of Green Point. We have a three-course Sunday lunch and we were really blown away. The outside area is lovely for a sunny day or summer's eve.
The restaurant has a sophisticated ambiance and the staff is really friendly with great recommendations and suggestions. The food was really fresh and well made and the portions were very sizeable. In fact, we had to take our dessert in a takeaway as we were too full.
Their fresh bread is to die for and the chicken livers with the aubergine chutney is a real treat. The pork belly is incredibly flavorful. I was also really impressed by a lovely wine list with a good variety of cultivars and prices to suit everyone's taste and wallet.
A must if you're in the area and looking for a great meal with some extra flair.
I am saddened that my proposal to market this magical place was not even acknowledged. It is the most beautiful place that deserves exposure and marketing that is done professionally.
Without that it is doomed to close down. We had a delicious magnificently presented lunch on a Saturday in an empty restaurant. What a shame. It is too nice to be kept hidden. The decor ambience furnishings and service were really worth promoting. I would be so sad to see this bespoke place closing down for not being open to market properly.
This is part of The Sugar Hotel and also boasts a supreme onsite spa. It is a beautiful pearl hidden in a closed oyster. I was passionate about marketing this place in the best way possible.
I have never come across such an incredible manager who had his finger on the pulse. He was warm and welcoming, paid close attention to detail and demonstrated being an asset to the business. Hopefully through him and word of mouth, this place will get the traction it deserves.

My husband and I were booked for a pamper and meal package. We received these vouchers as a Christmas gift from our daughter. And eventually we synched our calendars and went on Saturday 11 Feb 2023. We were greeted by a friendly Front Desk person and was shown where we could wait. We waited in the beautiful lounge because we were early...very excited to have this pampering session of back, arm, hands legs, and head massage done. There is nothing more relaxing than a professional massage. While waiting we had enough time to check out the lounge. Small and comfortable sofa with big cushions. A very friendly dog who owned the space by keeping eye on the front door. When our turn came we were escorted into a double room because we were having a couples' treatment. While waiting for the masseuse to arrive my memory went back to 2005 when myself and 4 performers after performing live on local Chinese TV was surprised with a massage. Needless to say ...none of us expected this. When we entered the establishment, the ladies screamed because they had just watched us live on TV. What an experience it was. Many years later my husband and I would spend an entire day in the Spa on board a Costa Cruiseliner docked in Athens because it was Christmas and they did not have any tours on that day. Back to our couple's massage experience: We enjoyed our massage and once we were relaxed we were escorted to the restaurant, Spice on Main one floor below the massage parlor.
The Maitre D welcomed us. It was still early and the restaurant had a few customers. We also met the cook.
We chose our menu and sat chatting to the Maitre D.
In our package we were allowed any 2 items on the menu plus a drink from the menu. I chose a prawn starter and Fish and roast potatoes for Main. My husband had the Spicy Steak and vegetables and Sorbet. We both had a glass of red wine.
Because I had a starter, it arrived very quickly...I shared the startert with my husband. Then the main meals arrived, my fish and deep fried /roast potatoes was divine and my husband's steak and vegetables and his extra side of chili was what the doctor ordered. We sat chatting to the Maitre D throughout and later decided to order something else to share.
So we visited Spice on main that’s located inside the Sugar Hotel to enjoy their 2 course meal and what an absolute treat it was. We enjoyed the starters, mains and deserts so much as it was all freshly made,delicious, presentation was beautiful and the combination of the meals was so perfect. Let me not forget the amazing service we received from the staff. It’s a definite 10/10 for me and would go back anytime and highly recommend anyone to visit this little gem in Green Point.
The Winter Special is sooooo worth it. There are renovations being done, so we had to sit outside for dinner. We didn't mind though because we were given blankets and the heaters were switched on for us.
Service was impeccable and staff was so friendly. Will definitely be back!

Place was under construction however signs were up all over apologizing - great

The ambiance was Excellent... I'll definitely go there again the burgers were great. Squid was tasty too
Delightful boutique hotel with small restaurant.
Has uncrowded and unhurried feel about it.
I've had lunch here a few times and although it has a small staff complement, the food doesn't seem to take that long to be served.
A nice glass of wine & a good chat with a friend helps while away the time 🍷😉
Loved my time there. Such a chilled vibe. Food was awesome. I recommend trying their ribs 😋😋😋😋
When class meets good food. The bottomless Hendricks gin on Sunday is the best, generously mixed and amazing food. Loved the chilli salted squid.
Food and service are very good. Had morning coffees and a few evening meals there. Well priced, a comfy and pleasing atmosphere.
You can site inside on cold days or on the veranda in fine weather.
I'd recommend a visit.
