Doors are open and all is good! We love the Belgian wheat beer. Sesame Tuna is good. I’d say they are over-priced, particularly for the portions.
Beautiful views of the harbor and absolutely unbelievably good beer! Service is impeccable and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food is good, some dishes were really tasty and others were good but less spectacular. I really liked the vegetarian risotto and apparently the fillet was divine. What I really liked was the tapas style starters which were unique and delicious. Loved the croquettes especially!
One of the very best restaurants I have been to. Great atmosphere. Great food and beer. Can highly recommend this restaurant. Keep up the good work guys 👍
The best view of Table Mountain and just simply amazing surroundings! The food didn’t disappoint and the staff was very professional and friendly. Our food was exquisite and don’t forget about dessert!😉
Great restaurant, perfect and efficient service. Beer pairings are well considered and mussels are amazing. Certainly a little taste of Belgium
We stopped in at Den Anker to do their beer tasting on a Saturday, just before lunch. Service was excellent, really excellent. It was fantastic to sit outside and as the restaurant filled up with lunch diners and those sampling the unique Belgian beers the service never wained and patrons just had such a look of content. As a bonus, being world gin day, their Liefmann's Gin Cocktail was available on a 2-for-1 special #happydays
P.S. They offer a complimentary reusable bamboo straw with this cocktail (they are also available to purchase as an alternative to plastic #savetheseaturtles )
What a great evening to spend with friends then at Den Anker restaurant.
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner there, the vibe and the ambiance were amazing. Catching up with friends over a glass of wine and the Belguim experience. Tasting some Belguim beer was one of the highlights for me.
My starter and my meal were amazing couldn’t flaw it. Some people would say that they are too pricey but I think the food and the experience are value for your money. Will definitely go back there again.
After a visit to The Gin Dock we stopped here for some more drinks and dessert. It was a very warm evening and the restaurant was quite warm inside. All the tables outside were fully booked but we moved when one became available.
Much to my wife's disappointment they do not serve cocktails. I ordered an iced coffee, which was really delicious but quite small for the price. Wife had oysters and I had starter mussels (we decided against dessert). Wife says the oysters were fresh. My mussels were really good.
On the downside service was quite slow.
Had a birthday dinner there this evening and needless to say it has always been one of my favourite spots in Cape Town! Havent been in awhile and I must be honest their standards have gone down. My starter was lovely as well as the main but lacked abit of seasoning. My dad's burger was tiny and the chips were ice-cold, rather dissapointing for a basic burger for the price of R135! The atmosphere is always lovely and the astounding range of Belgium beers but becareful, the alocohol content is not for the faint hearted. My favourite thing about this place has got to be their homemade mayo. It is absolute perfection! Our waiter, Joel was very attentive and kind towards our needs. An overall satisfying experience.
On Monday being a vegetarian and not much on the menu to Order....but the waitress wipped up and suggested a variety of meals to make the day enjoyable and the food was excellent. Great service and great flavoured Beer.
