Portion size is really important to me! So, I found this restuarent to be better in portion size than Addis! Staff are very friendly and the food really tasty!

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Really nice food, the coffee experience is a must (and is reasonably priced). We had the veggie and meat platters- everything was fragrant and flavoursome.

Decided to give this little place a try after seeing a deal from Entertainer. What a lovely restaurant. The service was excellent, really attentive and friendly. I love Ethiopian food and we were so full after our dinner even though it didn’t look like much to start. The flavour combinations were good and we enjoyed getting one vegetarian and one meat meal. The Ethiopian coffee was beautifully served with popcorn and a little stick of incense too. Will be back soon :).

I love Ethiopian cuisine and have made it a personal goal to dine at every Ethiopian restaurant in Cape Town.  Last night we dined at Lucy, named after Lucy (Australopithecus) the oldest human remains found in Ethiopia.  I rate Lucy the very best there is in our beautiful city.  Excellent food, beautiful decor and superb service.  We had the meat and veg platter with an extra serving of Shiro (my favourite dish by which I measure an Ethiopian restaurant's quality).  The Shiro at Lucy is the very best in the city.  I cannot wait to return!  This truly is the best Ethiopian restaurant in Cape Town.

Walking in off the street, it doesn't look like much - but the magic happens upstairs. A wooden staircase on the side of the bar leads you to the restaurant upstairs - a warm, dimply lit romantic nook, adorned with mesoba and the colours and textures of Ethiopia. Ideal for two or small groups, the service is warm in a cosy atmosphere.

Having eaten my way through the different Ethiopian eateries in the CBD, Lucy's stands up tall as the new kid on the block. Ethiopian restaurants typically offer a mixed platter -a combination of meat and pulse stews and, vegetables -served on an injera (sourdough flatbread meets pancake - low carb/high protein) - a great way to taste a bit of everything.

Lucy's offer a meat, veg or combo platter. We ordered one meat and one veg platter. Food is served family style and rolls of injera are used to lap up the different dishes. The tartare was outstanding, lentils and lamb stews equally tasty. With twelve different dishes presented, each had its own unique and delicate spicing. This is simple fair, not too rich or spicy. A taste offering that can be loved by vegans and carnivores alike. Definitely recommend doing the coffee ceremony with a bigger group.

Looked for a spot to have coffee & dessert after supper and decided to try something different. In honour of Heritage Day we ventured into this restaurant to experience an Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony. Desserts are not a big part of Ethiopian meals, but our Waiter (Richmond) was charming and we enjoyed the delightful atmosphere. We decided to return with friends, to have a meal and experience Ethiopian cuisine. We totally loved the vibe in this space. Please visit them to experience the meals of a different culture, in a very friendly atmosphere.

They have a authentic food, in a authentic place, everything there is decorate with Ethiopian culture. The girl who attended us is from Ethiopia and told us a little about the story and some curiosity. The food is good even being a little bit spicy. Nice place for know a little bit about Ethiopia

Delicious food, beautiful decor, great service. Full service restaurant that truly focuses on the experience, especially if you go in large groups! If you love eating family style and eating out with friends this is the place to do it. We only spent a week in Cape Town, but we chose to come here twice because it was so amazing! The first time we ordered 6 meat/veggie combos with 6 extra orders of injera and it was the perfect amount of food for 9 20-something year olds. The second time we got 2 vegetarian, 2 meat, and 2 combos. Both times were delicious, but we wanted to try the separate meat and veggie options because they had additional things in them that the combos did not.

What a lovely and special place. The kindest service and most exciting food experience in Cape Town. Very lovely restaurant, we would definitely recommend that to everyone who’s into different food culture.

This restaurant is a must! They serve one of the most delicious Ethiopian cuisine I've tried, the portions are generous, their vegetarian options are completely vegan and the menu refers to vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. The personal was very friendly and engaged explaining the restaurant's serving tradition. We sat upstairs in a wonderful decorated room that certainly made the experience memorable. If you go in a big group, make sure to order some starters while waiting for the main order and also recommend to try the teas and fresh fruit juices.

It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The waiter was fantastic, telling us all that we needed to know. Showing us how we should eat the food. The upstairs area is a must try!

Cool ambience, really wonderful service and the food was pretty good as well. The injera was on the drier side and the drinks were ok but this is still one of the better Ethiopian places in the city. Certainly worth a visit.
