Where do I even begin, the staff on arrival was super professional and showed us to our seats. Our waiter for the evening, was as quick as he could be - the place was rather busy. The meat, the meat.... oh wow just wow! It was worth every cent spent. The ambience amazing, the decor too trendy for words. I would definitely recommend everybody try this place at least once!! I was impressed from the moment I stepped into the place until the moment I left. Definitely worth visiting and revisiting again.
Having been lucky enough to eat it some of the best restaurants in the world, this is without doubt joint first (with Botero in Vegas). In fact if we were to judge on just the management and staff this place is head and shoulders above anywhere. Many thanks to Wayne and the team for another wonderful night. PS have the prime rib you will thank me!!!!!
Best steak I've ever had in Cape Town, great service and amazing dessert. Would rate higher than 5 stars if possible :) Will definitely be back again

Really great meaty experience. Perfectly prepared. Uncomplicated. Great place to eat great food and still have uninterrupted conversations. Seamlessly perfect service. Waiters really confidently knowledgeable about their dishes without being pretentious.
Always a pleasure , the best meat and great atmosphere . Warm and professional reception makes this place a must in Cape town.

Absolute fantastic experience!!! Giorgio, the owner and staff made us feel so welcome!! Best steak in Cape Town!! Lovely atmosphere!! I will certainly be back!
My steak was cooked to perfection and the desert, choc fondant was divine. Staff are friendly and accomodating.
Probably the best restaurant experience I have ever had. Waiter was excellent and the meat was out of this world.
Great service!! Great food!! Top quality meats!
Fantastic meal with great service. Loved that the team was personable and it wasn't an uptight, stuffy steakhouse!

Great place, amazing food, good atmosphere, friendly staff..
Amazing restaurant the first visited as food critic
What a lovely experience! Starters and mains came so quick you would think they wanted us to leave. Excellent service, Meat cooked to perfection.
Unbelievable Experience will definitely be going back!
One of the best steaks I've ever had..............
Incredible dining experience at Carne! The steak was flawless, the service and atmosphere were brilliant and we will definitely be returning.
Great food and adequate service, unexpected when the name of the restaurant is so “basic” and you expect something much more “ordinary”. Everything was high level and I hope to return soon.
A mandatory place in Cape Town. Very good staff always looking for giving you the best advice. And the meat... Uau! Made perfectly! But, don’t eat near the kitchen glass... too hot!
1. Carne in Keerom street cape town
2. Not halaal
3. Average price per person R400 for dinner incl drinks excluding starters and dessert
4. Don't go there if you eat your steaks well done
5. Quality food
6. Awesome service
7.Perfect for the meat connoisseur.
8. Yes , I will go back.
9. Waiting time for food, expected.
Divine ambiance, excellent food and service. Extensive wine list! Beautiful simple decor. Clandestine experience - romantic. Nice for a special occasion - can be a bit pricey, but worth it! 👌
Really good service, although they forgot our booking and we had to wait.
The waiter were good however for a well known place
My chicken was a bit watery and the broccoli /veg not tasty, the polenta gnocchi was odd and my friend did not want to finish her WHOLE 5 pieces of polenta "balls"
This was a weird experience, I expected better as I heard a lot about it but I don't eat meat...
My friend said her meat was not as good as before, it was also a very busy night...
She said kloof is better

A place that has become an annual tradition between my partner and I. There ability to keep the standard spot on, year after year, is just unbelievable.
I was taken out here for dinner as part of a recruiting exercise. This is an excellent venue and very smart-looking restaurant.
I am vegetarian and didn’t expect much from a place called ‘Carne’ — Portuguese for ‘meat’. I still enjoyed the food prepared for us, although it was heavily potato-based. It was slightly disappointing that some of the veg meals were side-orders for the meat eaters, but I think this comes down to the host’s chosen menu, and not Carne.
Even as a vegetarian, I would still recommend this place for its exceptional service, excellent venue, and well-prepared food. It’s ideal for a long dinner out with friends / family or for a celebration.
What can only be described as a life-changing steak, Carne has certainly spoiled my expectations of what a true prime cut is. This place has been bookmarked and will be visited soon and often.
Was an amazing dining experience. Marrow bones were a winner. My wife loved the lamb ravioli and carpaccio.
We shared the 1.2kg T bone. Rosemary marinade and flavoring was to die for.
Great wine selection (we are chianti biased) and a good grappa selection.
Wonderful dining experience. Attentive staff, good knowledge of the cuts and meats. Marrow bones a must if you are into those. The lamb ravioli was also good. We had the 1.2 kg T Bone fiorentina to share, also amazing.
Amazing wine selection. Also a commendable Grappa selection.
PS. Support the chefs daughter's doll initiative. We bought a few as well.
Perfect. I cannot fault my experience at Carne - they may have ruined steak for me completely. The Rump on the bone I had tonight was basically life changing. This was an expectional meal, and I am struggling to think of a better one. Each dish was excellent - from the light, fresh starters to the deserts and coffee (they can actually make a flat white that isn't a cappuccino). The service was enthusiastic and attentive, not just our waiter but the full staff. If you have not been to Carne and you like meat, do not wait any longer - make a reservation and GO!
Finally got a chance to try this restaurant out. It's really intimate and the setting is very warm. I love that they bring out the cuts of meat and explain each of them, it helps you choose which one you'd most likely enjoy. The service is good, and they have quite an extensive wine list which is really great. I think if you really enjoy meat, this is a spot you should try out. I'm keen to try the game selection next time!
The only negative comment I have is that there is no soft music playing in the background, so it can get a bit loud, but otherwise it's a great dining experience .
Took our clients here for dinner, the service was impeccable and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Just be cautious, the steaks that are paraded around come at a premium but were amazing!
I love this restaurant; can't fault it.
Everything was beautifully cooked.
Everything, including the broccoli.
The service was great. We showed up impulsively (so, without a reservation) and they accommodated us without making it seem like we were asking for the world. The waiter was attentive. His recommendation to try the game meat was an excellent one, the medium rare suggestion was also spot on.
I have no complaints about the space.
Except that there's a chance that you won't get a signal if you are seated downstairs (where we asked to be seated) but you probably wouldn't need cellphone reception at a dinner table anyway.
If you are a meat-lover, don't miss this spot.
They really make their steaks the star of the show.
The restaurant is really deserving of this rating.
I've been here twice now. Once in 2011 and now again in April 2017 and this place does not disappoint. The fine explanation for the selection of meats to suit the palate is dangerous for someone like me who generally can't make up my mind with too many good options. The starts were a mixture of the sweetbreads and veal carpaccio which were fantastic. The sweetbreads were done to perfection crispy on the outside and soft center that was well seasoned. For mains I had the sirloin on the bone. Grass fed. Perfect. Soft. Succulent. Grilled to perfection. Could have eaten it with a spoon. Will always go back here. Perhaps this time I wouldn't wait as long. Service also was very attentive. Well done
I am a meat lover, aged and good marbling. The variety of cuts and quantity is mind boggling. I was impressed and very very happy with the Rib eye on the bone that I had... if I could I would eat all my meat there.
A must for meat-lovers. It was interesting to be talked through the different cuts of meat you have to choose from and how they came to be.
Wine list is extensive so you're more than likely to find your favourites or discover some new ones. The service was also incredibly good. The setting is quite intimate so it works well for a small group dinner or even as a date night spot.
Dessert is a must!
Beautiful, modern decor. The staff is very friendly, efficient and they know their menu which is always a plus. The food is well prepared and delicious, a definite winner for meat lovers.
My friend decided to take me here since I'm a carnivore. The place has a romantic setup with the dimmed lights. The waiters and host were very welcoming. We were taken through all the cuts they have and the waiter thoroughly explained how each cut turns out. She answered all our questions.
The food exceeded my expectations. I was left wanting more. The steak was moist and juicy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The waitress paid attention to detail and was friendly.
I would recommend this place to any meat lover. The place could do with a bit of soft background music. Definitely coming back soon
If you a lover of steak then this is your place to go. Different varieties steaks and cut and its cooked just how you would liked it. Atmosphere is great and the waiter was so professional explaining the different type of steaks you get. They even serve 5 different game steak amazing 👍🏽
After holding off on our visit to Carne for quite some time, we finally went to this branch in the CBD! And it was good! The food was excellent. Did the lamb shoulder ravioli, caprese salad, trio of fillets and the lamb t-bone. We had what is apparently their best seats (tables in front of kitchen) but halfway through mains i couldn't bear the heat anymore and had to move. Our waiter Damian, was great. He made recommendations for everything we ate and we're glad we took his advice.
I would have rated higher but the host decided to have a good go at the kitchen staff as we were having coffee. I honestly felt like telling him to save his ranting for 'behind closed doors'. Very unpleasant end to the evening.
Had dinner tonight at carne for Valentine's Day 🥂 the food really is exceptional. I had the trio of beef fillet and Sashen had a selection of game. It's great that the waiters explain to you about the meats and cuts as it really helps with decision making. For dessert we had the chocolate fondant, oozing and delicious! Just the way I like it. Service was good, quite efficient but not warm, found the waiters to be slightly cold.
In my view this is the only place to eat steak in Cape Town. Innovative cuts include hanger, flat iron and a truly wonderful spider steak.
If you are lucky to have a 42 day dry aged rib eye presented to you grab it with all 4 incisors before other diners get it.
The gnocchi with Gorgonzola is excellent as a starter.
Wonderful steak prepared Italian-style with a lot of care and expertise by a clearly-dedicated army of staff. Fantastic atmosphere and decor, a good wine list, and a fun experience. Thanks!!!
Carne is a great steak house. It truly is. However, I do feel it misses that something special that makes it incredible.
I really enjoyed my evening, and had a great waitress who was very friendly but not overly so, and never mixed up or forgot an order. I do also love how they show you the different cuts of meat (and explain them to you ) before you choose your main course.
I had heard ravings about the chocolate fondant and therefore had to try it, it was good, even great but not amazing. I actually really enjoyed the panacotta as well, which was bigger than I thought it would be.
This restaurant should definitely be in your to eat at list, but I probably won't be coming back soon.

The underground butcher for the serious carnivores. The industrial, cemented look with modern decor and the right amount of lighting serves for a romantic intimate dinner with your partner,as it would for a uniting or cementing of friendship.
The meat as usual is cured, displayed and explained with great passion and precision. You feel like you ordering you perfectly selected piece of meat,as as per your personal preferences, and you have allot of variety. The meat is treated with great respect and the sides are just served totally separate from the meat, as you wouldn't want to compromise the main Centre piece.
I opted for the trio fillet, which has three flavors to experience, salsa verde, fungi&brandy, and salsa Bernese, served medium. Hubby went for the sirloin on the bone like a real cave man:) but naturally the flavors on the bone are phenomenal, and the sirloin is soft and filled with flavor. To end our indulgence we ordered the chocolate fondant, when we could smell melting away from the kitchen, when placed on the table we took our first dig and the melted chocolate steamed into our spoon. It was heavenly. In true Italian fashion we ended our supper with an espresso and grappa Berta, which is smooth without experiencing the fiery after burn. 10/10 all round for service, experience, cuisine and presentation.
We always ho back when in Cape Town.
what a hearty experience, honestly if you love meat you'll really enjoy it here. the service is great but you may find yourself overwhelmed with options.
my company and i shared the beef carpaccio and the lamb ravioli to start, while neither were particularly memorable the carpaccio was certainly better.
i invariably had the fillet medallions as my mains, the meat itself was off the highest quality but I was displeased with the sauces, particularly the salsa verde - i didn't enjoy it at all. i had this with the spinach which was such a great idea for both my palate and midsection.
Carne is an Italian restaurant that mainly serves meat. It is my absolute favourite! I've been a couple of times now and it never disappoints. The meat is indescribable. It's tender and mouth watering. They serve you pieces of meat that you won't find anywhere else. The variety of side dishes will suit anyone's liking and will leave you speechless. The waiters are super friendly. Not only is the service and food incredible but the interior decoration is sophisticated, trendy and warm. My number one go to.
Really great food and great service - waiter pretty much gave a lesson meat cuts before suggesting what to order.
Was part of a 12 person function where the service kept up and the food was delicious.
Try having one of the pastas as a starter and then go for your cut of meat.
If you like meat, you'll love Carne. Although Carne does have a selection of sauces and sides, the main focus is purely on the meat. You get a chance to view each cut before you decide on your mains and the selection Carne has to offer is incredible! If you're looking for a great steak, this is definitely the place to go.
Meat lovers paradise! Plan to go here literally only for the meat, as there are no bell and whistles. Superior meat choices, and the waiter explained everything thoroughly. Quality of the food is great and portion sizes are good. My only concern was that there is no cell reception at all in the restaurant, so you would need to exit the place if you need to check your phone or if you are on call for anything.
Carne - literally meaning "meat". And really, that perfectly sums up this subtly hidden restaurant at the end of Keerom street. Pure meat lover heaven!
The restaurant has two floors - the upper bar area, perfect for pre dinner drinks or after dinner delights, and the actual restaurant on the lower floor. It's sort of a wine cellar theme, with rough finishes, big wooden beams and ambient lighting in what feels like a secret underground meeting room for those who savor their red meat.
Upon arriving, we were greeted by a super friendly host and shown our tables. We were then promptly brought water for the table, bread baskets and a complimentary appetizer of meat balls. Although the bread was nothing to cry home about, the meat balls were very tasty and gave us just a tickler of what was to be expected for the rest of the evening. To wet our appetites even more, our waiter brought out a board showing all the cuts of meat they had available. He was very knowledgeable, explaining each cut in detail - where it comes from, how it tastes, his recommendations, etc. Very unique experience, and very original!
We decided to share a starter of the Karoo lamb shoulder ravioli. And my word, I've heard great things about this dish, but actually tasting it... Best ravioli ever! The meat soft and tender, the pasta cooked to perfection - I would've been happy eating that all evening!
Mains - steaks and fillet and just more and more meat! Between us, we had the trio of fillet medallions, the beef hanger steak, the ribeye and the sirloin on the bone. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals, but two of the dishes were a bit underdone, which was a bit disappointing considering that you expect perfection for the price you pay. Also, I ordered the broccoli side and felt that the vegetables were a bit undercooked - very hard, I was expected night tender greens. Nonetheless, the dishes that were done right were absolutely delicious! My recommendation - a good solid steak with a side of spinach, add a bit of dijon mustard and pepper and sprinkle some of their homemade lemon infused olive oil over the spinach... Yum!
We could simply not skip a dessert of chocolate fondant! And I'm glad we didn't because it was definitely one of the best fondants I've ever had! Oozing chocolaty goodness, rich but not overpowering, balanced perfectly by delicious homemade vanilla ice cream, made the way only the Italians know how. Absolutely heavenly! And I kid you not - that ice cream, however simple it was, was really something special.
Overall, a good experience but I still feel that the food doesn't justify the prices. Great service, quality meat, amazing ravioli and desserts. Lovely atmosphere, limited parking, difficult to find, but nevertheless a hidden gem. Recommended for meat lovers (vegetarians, stay away!) with a healthy wallet.
Top tips: Book in advance! They get very full very quickly. And also avoid seating in the middle of the room - you won't be able to hear each other as the sound does echo quite a lot. Definitely try the lamb ravioli for starters and the chocolate fondant for dessert - deadly combination, you will not be disappointed!
Carne is the spot to go if feel like a truly fantastic steak! Nestled in a side road just off long street this stunning Restraunt is yet to disappoint👍🏻 Their selection of meat is brilliant and every steak I've had had been cooked to perfection👍🏻 I highly recommend Carne to all those who love their meat🙌🏻
Great service! Very friendly and accommodating staff who really look after you. Super fast service, did not wait long for meals. Great steak, what a pleasant experience !
Second time at keerom street . Certainly the better one between keerom and kloof. I had the medallions and it was delicious. Waiters are brilliant and service is great . Will most certainly be back here
Love the home raised meats! Melt in your mouth perfection! A favorite steak house to visit in Cape Town. You can go wrong with anything on the menu but one of my favorites is the T-bone to share!
My meat loving friends and family find going to Carne to be a really special experience. (I'm always happy to go along because they have a couple of vegetarian dishes from their sister restaurant, 95 Keerom, on the menu which are always such a win). All in our party were extremely happy with their cuts and sides of choice -as usual. The staff are all incredibly well informed and friendly. There is a lovely, vibrant atmosphere in the dark, basement setting. Perfect for a special occasion! Pictured below are the caprese salad, grilled asparagus, polenta gnocchi in Gorgonzola sauce, sirloin with fried potato and the trio of fillet medallions with 3 different sauces.
Second time here...and mixed feelings. For start the service in all aspects was very slow on our table...people that arrived after were served before. The food...Top and so..so. For starters the "ravioli" sublime! they are very very good it's mandatory on Carnes in second the gnocchi of polenta also very good. Then the Main Lamb Rank...very juicy also a must! In the end dessert "Cota" very weak dessert specialy because I was expecting for a Panna Cota.... For some people the best restaurant in Cape Town....well...u tell me!
Popped into Carne last night for my brothers crown birthday celebration. Amazing meat selection which they bring to your table raw, and then point out what is what. I loved that! You get to see the cuts of meat you are about to eat. Great service. Only negatives were no background music/ambience and you can't get reception so I had to go outside to check-in on Zomato. Now that takes dedication! ;). They had one fillet on the bone which the birthday boy had and loved, I had it in Vegas. Fillet on the bone is very rare, you won't find it many places. They had Jack Black on tap so we had a few of those bad boys. Great spending time celebrating with loved ones over awesome steak. Chips were thin, well salted and very tasty. I had the game dish. I always love trying new types of meat and the various animals didn't disappoint. My ostrich was cooked to perfection, more on the rare side of medium rare which is how it should be or it gets too tough. The other animals I ate were...Kudu, Black Wildebeest, Impala and Blesbok. What a unique variety of game on one dish. I highly recommend if you are a meat fan! I'll be back, and I'll bring my own music ;)
If you are a vegetarian, do not go to Carne, you will have a bad time. A must-see for all meat lovers! The last time I visited Carne a waiter with an enormous platter of steaks came round to the table to explain all the different cuts and so forth. If you've always thought that fillet is the best steak then a visit to Carne will open your eyes. The sides were delicious too. Lastly, if it is still on the cocktail menu get the tiramisu martini (except if you have diabetes)!
It was our first time visiting Carne SA and we were not disappointment! The food was absolutely amazing and we annoy wait to go back! The waiters were also very knowledgable and helpful!
I have been to Carné more than once. Each occasion was a fantastic dining experience. From the knowledgeable staff to the beautifully prepared meals, you can't go wrong here. Take your special friends here for a treat of a dining experience, especially if they are meat lovers. I will definitely keep going back.
Carne is truly a one of a kind dining experience. Once seated by very friendly staff, the waiter brings an enormous tray of various cuts of meat to the table and explains the nature and tastes of each. The steaks are prepared perfectly and the quality of meat stands out above all other restaurants. We had a fillet on the bone and prime rib that no other meat specialist restaurant can match. It's quite expensive, so not a place that you'll go to regularly. But it's a must try!
What a winner!! An absolute MUST for those who appreciate a fine steak.
Firstly let me start off with the atmosphere. The main part of the restaurant is set underground which makes you feel as if you are part of some secret society for meat lovers. The service was excellent, our waiter (I think his name was Andrew) was friendly and gave great recommendations for dishes, he was attentive throughout the evening but not overly so.
Before you order your meal the waiters come to your table with a tray with all the cuts of meat and go through each cut explaining the texture and flavours. This just made me want to try everything. I eventually opted for the sirloin on the bone, it was cooked to perfection and probably the most delicious steak I have tasted so far. For my side I chose the sauteed spinach which was also very delicious.
For dessert I had the mixed berry salad with mascarpone sorbet. I can't even begin to describe how perfect this dessert was. Slightly citrusy and not overly sweet. I was very close to ordering a second helping but didn't think I had the space.
All I can say to end off is... I WILL be back.
You really have to like meat to enjoy this restaurant. They have the most amazing selection of meat cuts And they bring all for you to view before making your selection. But it is just the most amazing food and service and venue. I will definitely go back.
Waiter at door appeared to be trained to automatically frown if no prior booking, despite restaurant not being busy at all. Rump quite tough but tasty; fillet and ribeye fine. More bread to dip into balsamic, olive oil and spice mix would have been appropriate. Antipasti sudafricana salad was nicest of all. Overrated.
Amazing customer service, best lamb steak I've had to date! Nice restaurant for a date night or dinner with the family :)... Gets booked out soon though so always make a reservation beforehand !

Absolutely amazing food and setting! Vegetarians should not attend!
Best cuts of meat. I had the fillet medallions, our friend the sirloin and the guys had the aged rib eye on the bone which had been matured for 9 weeks.
The chocolate fondant was a winner for dessert.
A brilliant wine list to accompany the meal. Friendly and attentive waitress with a great sense of humour.
They are fairly expensive but definitely worth every cent you pay and the best steak I have had, and Im a very picky eater.
Definitely worth the visit
Hands down the best meat I have ever eaten in my life. The vibe, the service and the atmosphere are perfect.
You cannot go wrong!
The waiters are all excellent, every time I have decided to do a night out at carne, I'm further impressed as to the diligence and professionalism of all the staff. Every waiter knows every single detail about every dish on the menu.
Honestly a great night for any Red Meat lovers out there.
From starters to deserts, every course melts in your mouth!
Meat was good quality and great selections but i was highly disappointed that both our meals were a little on the cold side. Atmosphere was a bit dead but maybe because we went during the week.
Carne.....meat meat and more meat. The menu is build around various cuts and options of meat and the staff is well trained to explain the meat board in detail. Our food was great, the meat tender and full of flavour. A nice restaurant to visit as a special treat as the prices is not in the range of your average steak restaurant.
Good food, good service, good atmosphere! Their steaks are flawless, salads fresh, and desserts decadent. Lovely addition to Giorgio Nava's family of restaurants. If you're not big on steaks, their avocado and blue cheese salad is to die for, and their chicken salad even more so. Otherwise treat yourself and share the 1.2 T-bone - delish!
I've been multiple times to Carne and each time it was amazing. It's really a place for a meat lover and the name gives that away.
The service is really good and waiters know exactly what they talking about so you get a clear understanding of the different cuts of meat and you can figure out exactly what you want.
The food is exceptional and of a high quality and there's a good variety of wine to choose from. I had the beef prime rib and my boyfriend had the lamb. Both options were prepared simply but was so delicious. Most probably the best steak I've tried. The sides of mash, salad and roasted marrow were also lovely.
For dessert, I had the dark Italian chocolate fondant which was the perfect consistency with a soft centre. It's every chocolate lovers dream.
The only problem with Carne is that they will set your standard of a good steak so high, everywhere else you have a steak, you won't be as impresssed or simply disappointed.
A truly great example of a steakhouse! One of the best I have ever been to. The prices, in my opinion, are justified.
The only complaint, if it could be called that it's more of an observation really. Sensitive diners may find the presentation of the different cuts of meat, off putting.
It might not be the place you visit daily or weekly but it certainly is worth a regular visit.
Incredible experience as a whole, beautiful ambience and great steak! Had the trio of fillet it was cooked beautifully, was not a huge fan of the pesto on top of one but all round amazing experience
Awesome all-over experience. Staff well-trained, great wine list and the BEST meat in town. An experience which makes me feel like a queen time and time again!
Great steaks one of the best in town. I've been there many times and have never been disappointed. If u hungry I would recommend the lamb ravioli to start. Mains there is always the fiorantina. Massive t bone for 2. Steaks is of such high quality no need for side sources. To top it off have the chocolate fondant. It's amazing.
Great ambience. Great quality steaks. Menu a little confusing though and perhaps the waitron could explain more. Cheese platter was awesome!
The steak was incredible wish I could afford to eat there more often. It is expensive but worth it for a treat. Service was good. Sweet bread was sooo yum! Will be back
Good food, great meat! Excellent extensive wine list too! Lamb ravioli for the win! The acoustics downstairs are a little strange but only when the restaurant is busy.

If you love steak, this is the place. The place always makes steak just the way you like it - perfect. The service is top notch and the atmosphere is classy and welcoming. Perfect place for a date.
Your waiter will bring your a board with various cuts of meat, so you can actually choose the one that you like.
They have this amazing 1.2kg T-bone steak which we have yet to try. I always have their wildebeest steak - it's amazing!
Definitely a place to try out. You won't regret it.
What a lovely evening! Who says that service doesn't matter. Our evening was made all the better by our experienced waitron who came to South Africa by plane (inside joke). You have to try a cut of meat that you would not normally eat. They have such a variety, and take you through each piece thoroughly, displayed on a tray. I had a part of the shoulder. A very thin cut of meat which they managed to cook rare. It was out of this world. Paired with beautiful Iona red wine it was an amazing evening. Thank you.
Fabulous spot for a steak, never disappoints.
Carne, a beautify simple Spanish word for Meat (sounds so much better the way they say it).
This simplicity runs through into the flavours that the chefs at this restaurant accentuate in their food. Clean, fresh and perfectly layered.
Stating with the bread, nothing really special but the Olive Oil that they serve with it is something out of this world!
The asparagus and egg starter was top class, well seasoned and perfectly paired with rocket and parmesan shavings dressed in a light but flavour packed vinaigrette.
Mains kept up to this standard. I ordered Black Wildebeest fillet for the first time. It was the best fillet I have had in a long time and something I will defiantly order again.
The service was what you would expect in a shop of this calibre but was certainly not a "blow your socks" off experience!
One downside to this great place is that as it gets busier the noise levels get very high. This is due to the design of the restaurant and the fact that the roof is very low therefore capturing the sound.
Other than that it was an awesome evening but a restaurant I would reserve for that rowdy birthday party and avoid for a romantic dinner or a serious "deal making" business meeting.
