Had an amazing, sophisticated experience at the Leopard bar with very friendly attentive staff. The waiters are well trained and allows you your privacy when enjoying your time. We were well informed by the different Gins they serve and it was a very pleasant experience after a long day of sight seeing.
The view of this place alone makes it worth going. Simply beautiful. Thankfully the service and food closely matches up to the scenery.

We had a mini burger platter to share. 2 mini chicken, lamb and beef burgers on pumpkin seed and oat buns. And a loadful of shinny fries with chilli mayo. I was a bit apprehensive as it was plain burgers, no additions like cheese or bacon etc and no sauce neither. But I'm very glad it came as it did. The patties were so tasty, juicy nothing was needed to enhance it.
I had the pink motjito, because I am a girl😁, it was gorgeous. If it wasn't our plan to stop somewhere else on our way back I'd have had another.
From the entrance guy at the parking, doormen to the waiter even the elevator pressing guy-very welcoming and friendly.

The view at this place is simply breathtaking, I enjoyed the baked cheesecake and creme brûlée.The presentation was beautiful and it tasted even better, the drinks were refreshing while the service was polite and professional as expected at a five star establishment.
My overall experience was pleasant and I would definitely recommend this spot on a lovely summers day..

Dogs only allowed on a 'knees to nose' basis...
We were very excited to visit the Leopard Bar on Sunday 15th April 2018, especially as we'd heard it was pet friendly. As it turned out, only dogs that come up to knee height are allowed (definitely excludes our Newfoundland). Hence we arrived there dogless, but not without our 87-year-old grandmother who was thrilled to be joining us for 'tea by the sea'.
We arrived to a warm and friendly greeting from the downstairs staff and were escorted to the lift for the third floor. The doors opened to reveal the modern and eclectic Leopard Bar with panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. We were met by the manager and led to our table (pre-booking is recommended) which was in a cosy corner of the room, except the aircon was on full blast and seemed to be turned on and off during the afternoon so it ranged from being ice cold to warm and stuffy.
We were pleased to discover that they have created a 'bottomless'' policy to their tea which meant we could order as many teas and coffees from the menu as we wished, as well as top up with any food from the tier stand. We had pre-ordered 3 normal high teas and 1 vegan high tea (24 hour pre-order required) - these are apparently made fresh to order so there is a waiting period of about 20 minutes from the time of order. The food was delicious - the normal tea had sandwiches with fillings such as cream cheese & egg, smoked salmon, beef, cheese & tomato, and creamy chicken. The sweet treats included cheesecakes, chocolate mousse, chocolate brownies, chocolate cake, and scones and cream. The vegan display was also delicious (details in picture).
A bit pricey, but it is bottomless and well worth the splurge for a rare or special occasion because of the whole package. Average sized dog unfriendly.

One can one always expect the best service from a 5-star hotel ✨... the hotel's location is itself special as it's tucked between the ocean and the twelve apostles (the rocky hills above the hotel from where the hotel derives its name) ⛰
It's best enjoyed on sunny summer days, but any time when the sun is out will do! 🌤 the views are breathtaking, the staff absolutely incredible and helpful... at some point we had been sitting in the sun for a while and I realized I didn't have sunscreen on, our waitress overheard me and actually offered to arrange for it to be provided 👌🏾 incredible! I was pleasantly surprised as you can imagine
We didn't have anything to eat, we simply wanted to enjoy a sunset over the ocean... and enjoy we did as we sipped our Aperol spritz with bar snacks 🍹and then as the sun set our tea ☕️
*TIP: Highly recommended, esp if it's sunny and warm (try find seating on the balcony where we were)
You don't need to call per se... we arrived on whim after lunch in Hout Bay, and decided to pop in... needless to say we still received the 5-star treatment one would imagine guests would be afforded
A gorgeous view to enjoy whilst you snack on peanuts/bar snacks and enjoy a glass of something warm or cool - what's lovely about this place is you can enjoy it with your four-legged, furry companion by your side!
Pricey but so worth the view. Had the prawn tempura and the chicken wings as snacks - both ok. To be honest the food is not the allure. Nothing better than sipping on G&T with and amazing view of Capetown's coast. Definitely go for the views.
This place is amazing purely cos of it's amazing view of the Cape Town sunset...I went there twice in three days. And they serve Graham Beck MCC by the glass...what a win!!! They also serve spiced corn, cinnamon peanuts and olives complimentary. The second time I visited they also gave use chips, popcorn and raw veggies complimentary
I just love this place. The view is simply breathtaking: the ocean sparkles over the white bannisters. The service is polite and professional. I always feel a little spoilt here.
What a spot for a sundowner! The view is spectacular... I spent half the time there just staring. Their Rock Shandy is the best in Cape Town as well. Drinks are not cheap, but the setting is worth every penny. Service is also a bit slow, without that this rating would be higher. If you're visiting Azure, go a bit earlier and have a drink here.

This was by far the best high tea I’ve ever had. Real value for money, beautiful scenery, lovely staff. Warm and welcoming and absolutely delicious savoury and sweet treats! Definitely returning.
Light lunch with some really good cocktails. This place feels so luxurious, the decor is so classy and comfortable at the same time. Just lounging here makes you feel rich. Service is quite good too, treated like royalty. Just gets a little rowdy at times which I didn’t like, but then its a popular venue so it goes with the territory.
We had lunch at The Leopard Bar after an amazing message at the hotel’s spa. The food was delicious. They recommend this burger platter because we were hungry and we couldn’t believe how much food came out. We thought they were going to be miniature sized! The place I self if decorated very cool. Sitting outside on the terrace is the best if the weather allows for it so you can see and hear the ocean waves while you enjoy yourself!
Had a great high tea experience. I got the vegan high tea and my friend got a normal one and we both loved it. We spent so many hours there talking, enjoying the ambiance, the view, and the food. The loose leaf teas were also delicious and the service was great.
Cape Town is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets, from Lions Head to Bloubergstrand. The Leopard Bar at the 12 Apostles is one that is high up on my list, probably my absolute best! The visits are not often as a local, but rather for special occasions, the ones you want to remember. Think special visits with international friends, date nights, birthday or anniversary sundowners hit the spot so well.
The food menu is fair (it a hotel after all), from burgers to steaks and salads. But, the drinks list is massive with a few menus to peruse, from cocktails and spirits, to wine lists that will enthral the biggest enthusiast, showcasing French heavyweights from Burgundy, Champagne and Bordeaux. It reasonabley priced if you have Euro’s or Dollar’s, for us locals, its a spoil - well at least for me, but the sunsets are epic on that balcony or from the below pool deck. Just breathtaking!

Beer and Gin Canapé Tasting
One would expect a quality service when visiting the 12 Apostles, but on a recent visit to the Leopard Bar, we experienced a service and tasting experience beyond anything we've experienced in Cape Town of late. Our host: Byron Clarke, made us feel like we were the only guests that he was attending to that day (which we certainly weren't!)
The gin canapé tasting consists of 3 Cape gins which Byron talks one through the origin and production history, and which condiments are best suited with each gin and why. He proved to be knowledgeable about both gin and beer production and was able to answer all our questions. The accompanying Canapés were so incredibly tasty and artfully presented.
The beer Canapé tasting consists of 4 craft beers and paired with different Canapés to that served with the Gin tasting.
You do need to book 24 hours ahead of time, I called to make the reservation. I'd recommend booking on a beautiful day so that the experience can be enjoyed outside on the balcony with sea views.
The Leopard Bar’s decor is stunning, colonial feel. Beautiful lunch experience, lovely food and great service.
Went to 12 apostles hotel and had snacks and drinks at the leopard bar after getting married there exactly 18yrs ago so thought a little anniversary treat. Food was fantastic service was that slow I had to ask for someone to take my drinks order and then again 30 mins later. Price was reasonable considering you have one of the best sunset locations in capetown. Absolutely amazinging sunset.
Great place to enjoy your sundowners on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Service was friendly and efficient. Enjoyed our drinks with the free bar snacks of olives, nuts and corn nibs. Bar area is tastefully decorated and has a cosy feel to it - ideal for a wintery evening.
We’ve been coming to Leopard Bar for sundowner drinks for many years prior to the pandemic.
This was our first time back since then and the atmosphere and views of the sun setting over the ocean were as great as ever.
Unfortunately our waiter Zeeke (?) was bordering to rude, which spoilt our experience on this occasion.
Maybe with so many overseas tourists visiting, the staff don’t have to care too much about how they treat customers …?
